On our way to Dursey Island and stopped for a coffee. We ordered two cappuccinos and were captivated by the lovely chocolate displays so we selected four different flavors to try with our coffees. Wow! They were delicious, so creamy smooth and flavorful. The cappuccinos were the best we have had on the Peninsula. Issie is a delight; friendly, helpful, and quick to help her regular customers as well as the newcomers. Wish we lived in the area, so much better than any Starbucks in the US! Go visit Issie, you will be happy you did.

The Mill Cove Sculpture Gardens are part of the Mill Cove Gallery, located on the Beara Peninsula, about 25km from Glengarriff, County Cork. Tucked in as it is along the peninsular shoreline, and screened too by Bere Island, Mill Cove gets shelter from the major ocean impact, and that relative shelter is reflected in the maturity and screening and greening of its acres of lush Gardens, specimen trees and inlet cove. The Gardens include more than 40 sculptures spread out over 4 acres of mature grounds. After visiting the Gardens, guests can enjoy the gallery and studio. Spent a delightful hour or so walking through the garden admiring the sculptures, touring the gallery with some very interesting pieces. John was a very genial host and even gave us a pot of tea to share as we relaxed after our walk and enjoyed...MoreThank you Noel - very much appreciated

20-25 events per year. Performances by internationally-renowned concert pianist David Syme. Mainly classical music from 19th century Romantics. Lavish dessert buffet with white wine served at interval, included in admission price. 2 hours duration, selected Sundays at 3pm.
Attending a concert in the home of concert pianist David Syme is an amazing experience. A friendly, inviting atmosphere greets you on arrival and the music ranges from astonishingly virtuosic solo piano pieces, to exciting collaborations with other artists. To top all that off, you are provided with delicious cakes and desserts at the interval, homemade by David's wife Suzanne!! Most certainly an enjoyable and relaxed way to spend a Sunday.

It was once beautiful for sure but it's all fenced in now no entry allowed. The roadway and coastline is nice a good place to sit down have a picnic but there is nothing else to it .. otherwise you could walk around a while but it's a bit pointless if it's the mansion you are interested in!

Art gallery situated in an old stone warehouse on the waterfront in the fishing town of Castletownbere. The gallery exhibits contemporary art including paintings, ceramics, video and installation work. There is a balcony over the water from which the town and harbour of Castletownbere can be viewed.
We arrived to view the gallery at 2:40pm. The sign on the door read "be back at 3pm". So we had a pint and walked around the boat yard. We arrived back a little before 3pm another sign on the door now read "be back at 3:15". There was a number at the door but we are from overseas and could only use Wifi to call. I'm sorry but it was a Friday afternoon and not near lunch or near closing time. The town is quite small but for a Friday? It was very inconvenient and we only waited till about 3:10 and then gave up and moved on. I would have loved to see what all the rave reviews were for.

In the last 2 years,I had the honour to hike and visit most of Ireland in 4 different times. I can say I really enjoyed "to dive" in the green Irish lands and blue sky of this magic country with a very efficient and organised tour. It has been very beautiful knowing new people from USA to Austria sharing the same interest in walking the Ireland Way Trail (small towns, green lands, lakes, friendly farmers, Irish pubs and food etc) in
an Irish way. The guidebook is excellent and looking forward for the book!
Feicfidh mé go luath thú !!!
