We were 2 couples staying at Paje. Our wives took a few lessons in kitesurfing the year before at a different school in Paje. This time they decided to take lessons at the Zanzibar kite paradise which was a bit more expensive but turned out to be worth every penny.
First, The spot of the school is better because it's a bit far from the crowded area of Paje beach which make it both safer and easier to learn.
Second and much more important is that The level of the instructors was much higher. Our wives said that actually there is no comparison and the staff was much more professional.
They enjoyed every minute and looking forward to comeback to the kite paradise next year.
As I said it was more expensive then other kitesurfing schools but you learn faster and better (and also they were very kind and gave some discount for taking many lessons) so at the end it's actually much more worthy.
We would like to thank all the great staff of Zanzibar kite paradise (and to apologize that while our wives were learning, we were interrupting with the big green kite......)
Next year all 4 of us are going to take lessons!!!!

They were just compleating building the main structure of their business and most days we would walk on the beach twice a day we always stopped to pass the time of day to talk to Elisa and her partner Emanuel they wanted me to take...MoreWe still think you should take lessons next time! But you will always be welcome back for some tours or just for a chat!

The Beach is not like what you’d expect .
Yes it has golden sand . Amazing view. Restaurants and everything .
It has no basic services: no umbrellas or sunbeds to rent .
No fresh water shower facilities.
When the tide is low you can only see the ocean half a kilometre away and not enjoy it .
The sandy beach is covered with seaweed and algae.
Every other local wants to sell you something .
All in all you can have a wonderful
Time at the beach . Get a fantastic tan very fast .
I reckon it is a nice place to
Get a tan.

PADI 5 Star IDC Centre : Scuba Diving in Zanzibar's South East Coast Buccaneer Diving Zanzibar is located in Paje on the wonderful South East coast of Zanzibar Island. Away from the overcrowded Beaches of Kiwengwa, Nungwi, and Kendwa, Paje is renown for its stunning Beaches, unspoilt village life, small sized guesthouses and lodges. The stretch reaching from kizimkazi (south point of island, famous for dolphin spotting) through Jambiani, paje, bwejuu, dongwe to Michamvi (which is situated on the eastern tip of chwaka bay), is often refered to as the secret coast of zanzibar, where the real identity of the island is still preserved and untouched from mass tourism. Nonetheless Paje and the neighbouring area offers a variety of bars, evening hangouts, restaurants and regular nightlife. The diving around Paje is pristine with some of the finest corals to be found in East Africa. The protected natural lagoon which is only ten minutes boat ride from the Buccaneer Diving base at the Arabian Nights hotel is a great choice for all levels of divers and accompagning snorkellers and it also means that we can offer a number of good safe and protected dives in the rougher monsoon and in general for beginners. The lagoon also is an ideal spot for nightdives. In addition we have a number of sites on the outer reef within a 25-minute fast boat ride of our base offering a wide variety of topography ranging from walls, gentle slopes to caves and exciting marine life, some also suitable for beginners and some of which accessible only to more expert divers ...and we are always looking for more! We also offer dives and snorkeling from our sister operation at the Swahili Beach Hotel in Kizimkazi in the South of the island. Kizimkazi is renowned for its dolphins and idyllic sand banks and a days diving followed by a seafood lunch is a must. In addition to our special kizimkazi trip, we also organise a day trip to the atoll of mnemba, located in a marine park that is a great location both diving and snorkelling. Watch out for other seasonal special trips.
Am just new into diving having logged few dives after my open water certification, and was looking for a safe and professional diving centre that can accomodate my likes. After Surfing through the net, i came across buccaneer diving, and to my surprise, after dropping them a line i had a quick responce thanks to Wyckliffe for his well detailed info.
The equipment are in best condition and the staff are fun and friendly, i was quick to settle in the mood thanks to the instructor,Mr Didi who was brilliant from the word go with his big smile and charming as well.
The briefing was clear and we were shown to our diving boats which we were welcome with again smiles from the captain and crew on board. The staff made sure the equipment was prepared and doubled checked, it was lively as on board with Mr Didi keeping the mood going.
And as soon we went in the water, a pod of dolphins swam by! great visibilty and a turtle to top it up!
Am so greatful to have chosen buccaneer diving for it is one of the best diving exeprience so far!
I highly recommend it!

Wonderful dive with knowledgeable Bakari. He adjusted the dive very well to my level of experience (no certification but having made a few dives before). I felt totally safe and comfortable, and was provided with well-maintained and up-to-date equipment. Saw two moray eels, some founders, groupers and many reef fish. No sharks or turtles that day unfortunately.
Diving school is located in Evergreen resort. Very reasonable prices too.

Uhuru Kite Zanzibar located in Jambiani, a small village just 10 minute taxi south from Paje, boasts the same magical conditions but with none of the people, There are many lagoons, small and big in Jambiani all perfect for kitesurfing. The village is a lot quieter and less touristy than Paje as its a fishing village. As a result there are maximum 20 kites and in most lagoons none at all...
The place to be for proper kite surf lessons! Where you see busy, overcrowded area's in Paje, Jambiani on the other hand is the place to be to properly enjoy your 1st kite sessions. Professional equipment, great staff and perfect conditions make this kite surf school the place to rock!!

We were in Paje at an extremely busy time of high season and we still had an amazing time. A spectacular long white beach that went for miles and miles. The beach is lined with palm trees, restuarants, kite schools and hotels. It has a chilled vibe and you can walk, ride a bike or even hire a scooter and cruise along the beach for miles. A lot of people complain about the tidal drop but we found this fascinating and an opportunity to explore the beach more and Little Rock pools that were left behind. Each beach in Zanzibar is unique and I can definitely reccommend visiting at least 2 when visiting Zanzibar if you have the time. I live in a city with beautiful Beaches but this far exceeded them
