Bang next to nilkantheshwar temple is this Narmada park. Small but very well maintained. Spending the evening here was breezy and blissful! Sunday evenings can get really crowdy! Be prepared for that or get in early!

Excellent temple complex with very peaceful and serene atmosphere on the bank of river Narmada. The Ghat or the steps leading to the river bank provides an excellent place for meditation in the evening when you see a setting sun in the west. You can buy Guggul incense sticks and other worshiping gear from the temple store.

This is an old Hanuman Temple which draws people in large numbers, especially in the Holy Month of Shravan in July - August. On Saturdays, there are long queues for the darshan. People in this area come here for all occasions - good or bad. The idol is supposed to be "Swayambhu" - self created

The ghats are a great and fascinating riverside walk, and for the western traveller let you experience absolute classic the sights, sounds and yes - the smells of India in a couple of miles with no real hassle or pestering. But if you only have time or money for one thing whilst you are there make sure it is the aarti ceremony at sunset.
If you are not Hindu and not taking part in the ceremony be sure to remain respectful and unobtrusive because this is not a tourist spectacle but a sincere and prayerful act of worship for more than 90% of the people there. However, it really is a spectacle: a vibrant, awe-inspiring feast for the eyes and ears.
