Home to one of the largest frigate (or man-of-war or hurricane) bird colonies in the world.
We have been to Barbuda before, and had a super fun tour with Clifford Jeffrey. This trip, we went with George Jeffrey, as Clifford was not available, and we loved George just as much! the birds did not disappoint, even though we were here almost a month earlier in the mating season. This is such a treat of nature, to be able to experience these cool birds so up front and personal! The islanders are blessed to have the birds there! It is a great fun day in the lagoon!

The ArtCafe is on Two Foot Bay Road and is a cafe, craft shop and guest house and the home of artist Claire Frank. Claire paints on silk and makes hand-painted t shirts and other crafts. The ArtCafe also has extensive information about Barbuda collected over many years that you can browse through over a freshly ground coffee, an ice cream or a home-made ice cold drink. Lunch is a one-dish special served from 12-2 and we also serve rum cocktails and have occasional happy hours on Friday or Saturday evenings at 7pm. The ArtCafe also has rooms to rent on a 'home-stay' basis and is listed on airbnb or can be booked through the barbudaful website. We are one of the few places open in the evening in Barbuda for supper (bookings only). Claire cooks wonderful local food with fresh ingredients but it's best if you call the ArtCafe first to see what she has.
If you are in Barbuda you HAVE to go here! If you have been and gone and didn't try it you missed out! The food, the ambience, the everything .... is excellent! Definitely ask if the smoked Barracuda Roe is on the menu! Claire serves...MoreIt's especially nice to get feedback from people in the business so a big thank you for taking the time to let me know you enjoyed your meal with us.

Went to this beach in Barbuda by helicopter. What a way to arrive. The pilot lands on the beach! The whole beach is yours not another living sole in any direction. Beautiful pink sand made from shells. This really is heaven on earth. Had lunch in a little shack on the beach which was fantastic. Rum punch made with Ting is now a favourite.

Pink coral beach regarded by connoisseurs as the most beautiful in the Caribbean.
Barbuda is the sister island of Antigua. Prestine pink sand beach with beautiful warm aqua blue water! Only accessible by boat or small plane. No wonder Lady Diana chose this as her vacation spot! From the island you can hop onto a small speed boat tovisit the frigate bird sanctuary! Totally amazing!!! We took the boat over from Sandals Antigua. about a 90 minute ride each way. Food and drinks provided in cost along with additional transportation to the bird sanctuary. Added time to swin in the gorgeous ward carribean!!!

About 143 feet above sea level, a cave winds its way underground for about a mile. Ancient petroglyphs carved by Arawak Indians can be seen among the stalagmites and stalactites.
A trip to two foot bay is a must while visiting the island of Barbuda. The caves are incredible and interesting but would recommend you take appropriate climbing shoes with you. We climbed in flip flops was ok but could have been easier with runners. The views of the Atlantic are breathtaking and make for gorgeous pics. The beach was perfect for hunting for sea glass

It took a ferry and a mini-van to get to this beautiful idylic bay in barbuda, but once there, the seclusion was palpable. we spent most of the day at Low Bay, before catching the late ferry to travel back to Antigua.
Low Bay was so isolated, that on entering the sea, I was amazed to witness shouls of tiny fish surrounding my feet as I tried to swim (I suppose they were as curious about me as I was about them).
There was hardly another soul in sight - fantastic!
The only thing that I would advise fellow travellers to do before visiting here, is to take plenty of insect/mosquito repellant, because the sand flies here are relentless (my wife & I didn't take enough, and we suffered for days afterwards).
On the whole though, a wonderful, secluded day at Low Bay .... highly recommended!

Largest cave on the island at 70 feet deep and an interior ecosystem supporting 50-foot palmetto palms, bats, birds and frogs.
The cave and general rock formations were very interesting and in sharp contract to the rest of the Islands geology which made it very interesting. A great outing if you're interesting in learning a whole new dimention of the island, get sunburned or just tired of going to the beach

The most amazing horse back riding my son has ever had. What most beautiful experience can Elliot have had? Sheville is his mentor when he comes to horses. And Mo the photographer. Thank you both for these magical pictures. Nowhere else it would have been possible.
