Arzachena (Gallurese: Alzachèna, Sardinian: Altzaghèna) is a town and comune in the province of Sassari, northern Sardinia, the second largest island off the coast of Italy. Arzachena lies half way between the original Costa Smeralda resort and Porto Rafael, both founded in the late 1950s. After Olbia and Tempio Pausania, it is the third largest commune in Gallura by inhabitants.

The whitewashed exterior of Stella Maris is prominent landmark looking over the Porto Cuervo harbour. Inside, this Gaudi-esque style church has a stunning, yet simple interior, complete with an El Greco painting hanging near the door. The church was built in the 1960s and designed by Michele Busiri Vici. Very peaceful.

Archaeological site. Bronze age Nuraghe with village.
I can only say this visit was tremendous because of our private guide who was extremely knowledgeable and spoke four languages fluently, so our group was constantly educated, intrigued, and entertained by the Nuraghe. Had we visited without the guide, the visit would have been totally worthless. Other reviews have already expressed the valued history here: Bronze Age historic artifacts, communal living with tribal leadership, making this a truly important historical find that is worth your time as long as you have a proper source of information (a knowledgable guide or similar scholar).

The Capriccioli peninsula must be one of the best places along the Costa Smeralda.
Capriccioli beach (actually 2 beaches: Capriccioli West and C. East) is one of around 10 Beaches around the peninsula; all are exellent Beaches. It's a matter of taste, weather & wind conditions which beach one chooses.
The Capriccioli beach is perhaps the easiest accessible by road and with a relatively large parking next to the beach.
There is also a tourist information office in the beach bar, very helpful.
Between the beach bar and the beach, there is a small park-like area with trees where you may relax in the shadows.

It is fair to say that Sardinia has fabulous Beaches. It is known for this also in Costa Smeralda. There are many- but a great beach thus really is- even in busy season. Last time we came here end August/beginning September- much better than mid- August where you feel the season peaks. But the beach people who run the sun beds were very kind, and you become part of the locals once they see you every day- shame, yes we did! There is parking near the beach, a bike cost €2.50 parking, and near this is a fun food bar- ridiculously busy, but still good.
The beach has a mix of locals, tourists and regulars. And there are plenty of little Beaches nearby if you want to spread your wings. But truly- go in September, so much easier.

In October, the beach wasn’t at all crowded and the cafes had closed. The pale sandy beach is truly beautiful and the sea is sparkling turquoise and very clear. Paddling along the shore, I could see several small fish swimming in the shallows. There were several boats moored in the bay, no doubt enjoying the view. I can imagine in the summer it’s very crowded, but out of season it’s very tranquil, although you will need to provide your own refreshments.

Built about 4500 years ago, this collective burial chamber is very long, with a series of uprights that were once covered with stones and earth.
Coddu Vecchiu is a Giants' grave located near the Nuraghe La Prisgiona.
While the name ‘Tomb of Giants’ (or Giants’ Grave) invokes images of the burial of giant human beings, the tombs actually have nothing to do with the burial of anyone other than regular sized people from the Nuragic civilization.
According to some legends, giants were buried in these tombs, in large part due to the massive size of some of the stones used, some reaching as high as 100 feet tall.
The Giants’ Graves at Coddu Vecchiu remains mysterious because little is known about the ceremonies or rituals that occurred there, or the symbolism that was being invoked. It is believed that the doors in the tombs were used to facilitate passage into the afterlife. These doorways served as the barrier between the physical world and the afterlife. Mourners and others would leave offerings at the entrance to the tombs.
it is an interesting visit.

Perhaps one of the best Beaches in the Island of Sardinia.... the below pics will explain it... the sand is from a granitic formation therefore will not stick to your feet ... never crowded even on weekends... great kiosk on the beach will allow you to stay there all day without hassles or worries... will be back for sure

This was the most beautiful beach that I found on the whole Island. The sand and the water are perfect and seem almost a paradise.
There is a lot of people here but is perfectly understandable for the quality of the beach.
I I had to choose only one beach to return this would be the one.
Be aware of the place that you park because the police fine a lot here and each one is about 80€

When we arrived, we were impressed with the contemporary decor. But after a good 10min of wondering round, there is still no one came to ask serve us.
We then sat down in the restaurant and asked for the tasting.
The only English speaking waiter then turned up like 15min later. When the wine was served, there was next to zero info given for each wine. When we asked questions, he seems annoyed.
Anyway the wine is not good either. Don't waste the time here.

This is a very beautiful beach and it is easy to get there. It is extremely crowded and if you will stay for long you better bring your own beach umbrella with you. Or you can make a beach crawl visiting may Beaches in a row, staying for a few hours at each. Sardinia is a perfect island for doing so and enjoying its many beauties in the same day.
