A lovely spot to spend the afternoon. Excellent food and charming service. The salads are very good and come with hot flatbread. Excellent fish & chips. Home made pasta is good and the lasagna is cheesy goodness.
The tables on the beach are a perfect place to spend an hour or the afternoon. Oh, pizza goes on the menu after 6pm!

My companion and I stopped in for a first class meal on one of our last nights in Melaque. We were not disappointed. We started with a bottle of full bodied red which we sipped as we listened to the great Mexican music. I ordered the lightly seared tuna and he ordered the bacon wrapped filet. Well, what a show and what great flavours. I would highly recommend this restaurant for that special night out.

Gigi runs a consistant quality of quality food and has a large clientel that comes back year after year. Her staff stays with her so they know the menu well and are very helpful. She has in door and out door Seating serving wine and mixed drinks. Gigi seems to come around to each table and greet all her guests.
It is one of our favorite restaurants in the area.

We went to the rooster for dinner. It was literally the most disgusting meal we have ever had. My husband ordered the chicken burger, not to bad. I ordered the Salisbury steak. It was stone cold with artificial potatoes which I normally like they were stone cold. Our friend ordered the beef fajitas, stone cold and tough. We ordered a meal of chicken and ribs to go. The ribs were so tough that we couldn’t eat them. During our meal the sewer was being emptied, the smell was absolutely nauseating. Absolutely the worst meal we have had in 35 years of traveling. Wow shame on you, putrid to say the least

Ate here once during our week in Melaque. The food was good, not outstanding but solid. The location is nice and the service was pretty good as well. Not sure I would rank this as the best restaurant we ate at in Melaque but it was pretty good.

We saw the photo posted on Tripadvisor and thought "wouldn't it be nice to sit at the beach with proper table cloths and good service?" Well we enjoyed our server, Frederico, our meals (Camarones Provencial - in a white wine sauce served with steamed veggies and Dorado Veracruzana - served in a robust tomato-based sauce with julienned bell peppers, carrots and a few olives tossed in), the view of the sunset colors beyond the rocky point and the modest prices: 3 beers and the two described dishes for 370 pesos, less than $20US at current exchange. A very pleasant dining experience in Melaque.

It was the talk of the town so we went there one evening with friends.
Decor is nice, on the first floor a large room open on the streets . Concrete walls and ceiling with nice colours . The place was crowded.
We had a reservation and we arrived on time but we had to wait 15 minutes to get our table. Then another 30 minutes to order and more than 1 hour to get our plates.
At that stage even if the food was not bad, but the ribs too dry, we found it average.
Staff was nice but obviously the kitchen could not follow.
The worst was the noise, including the one made by musicians. Poor them. Everyone was speaking loudly and shouting to be heard!
Impossible to communicate with our friends.
A restaurant is not a night club.
Conclusions: the kitchen should be ready for customers and they should put some stuff to minimize the echo of the concrete .

We always choose this beach restaurant when we go to La Manzanilla. Since the hurricane the owners have rebuilt the palapas and refreshed the washrooms and buildings. Its very clean. The food is consistently good, fresh and well presented. Staff are very nice and speak some English.

Nothing better than having great Mexican seafood right on the beach with your feet in the sand.
Spent a week at the beach in La Manzanilla and went to Pedro's beach palapa almost every other day. Wonderful people - Pedro went out of his way to find us a table on a crowded Sunday afternoon. We tried the shrimp cocktail, guacamole, fish tacos, Chile relleno, and his famous Rollo Del Mar (fish roll) with almond sauce. Everything was delicious. The margaritas are large and to die for.
Pedro's is right on the beach close to the crocodile enclosure.
