A gateway to Fjordland National Park, the quaint and peaceful township of Te Anau is nestled on the edge of a lake of the same name—the perfect site for jetboating or fishing. Embark on one of many day-long or multi-day hiking or walking tracks, then return to town to restore your body with a soak or massage at a spa and a delicious café meal. Nature lovers will marvel at the Te Anau glowworm caves, the Wildlife Park and Ivon Wilson Park, where rare Takahe birds flutter freely.

Latin American inspired Italian dishes. Pasta, Pizza, Postres. Delicious meals that are sure to tempt your tastebuds. Gluten Free and Vegetarian options available.
Very friendly, enthusiastic staff (all of them). Service excellent. Tasty and well presented salmon dish but limited choice for vegetarians (one selection). Tip - make sure that you get there early as things run down soon after 9pm (this seems to be true of all of Te Anau).

Came following a recommendation but was a bit disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful but pizza had something like barbecue sauce on it. Now looking at the website it was actually mentioned on the menu so can’t complain - just a bit strange. Nonno pasta was tasty.

We really enjoyed our night here.
A really interesting decor and a first class menu.
We had venison, perfectly cooked and flavoured and rib eye steak, again done to our taste.
There are not a lot of good restaurants in Te Anau, we reckon this is by far the best.

Successful family owned restaurant operating now for over 20 years. Our team works hard in providing exceptional service, quality food within a great atmosphere.
First of all, Reservations are strongly recommended. We weren't able to get a reservation until much later than we'd hoped for but stopped in after leaving the cinema just to see if something was available and it was. They warned us service would be slow and it was, though not terrible. We had the garlic ribeye. I wanted my medium rare and my wife wanted hers well-done. Both were cooked to order, were very tender and tasty. We got a side of fries and they were just so-so - too limp for my taste. I got the pork belly as a starter and have no complaints with it. The steaks were served with mixed vegetables and a lot of mashed potatoes but no butter or gravy, so pretty bland. We had the Pavlova for desert. It was just marginally okay as it was served with fruit and not berries. I've attached photos to this review.
Thanks for Reading. If you’ve found this helpful I’ll appreciate a thumbs up below.

On a very wet night we just turned up at this restaurant and were offered a table straightaway.
Great service from the staff.
The menu was good, but I chose the seafood pasta and this was delicious with plenty of prawns and mussels. Loved it. My wife had the lamb rack which was delicious but filling.
Lovely little restaurant in the Main Street.
Highly recommended

Cosy, inviting atmosphere serving great local cuisine, coffee and drinks.
Went with a small group of 8 people for dinner. Some had fish and chips others the lamb shank. All was fine. Wine was ok, not great. Service was friendly. Busy tourist place with good food. Not the place for romance or local flavor.

Had a pie for breakfast everyday. Tried a few varieties, I liked the steak and anything else, my wife liked anything with egg. Sorry I couldn't narrow it down more, they are all really good, pastry part very flaky and fresh most importantly.
Bring cash, they don't take credit, though they do take eftos if you even know what that is, we never heard of it.

This popular and atmospheric cafe has a very tempting display cabinet full of delicious looking home made goodies. Unfortunately breakfast was included in our accommodation and we were never around at lunchtime so we didn't get to eat anything but we went there a couple of times for coffee. The coffee (Bruno Rossi) was excellent - nice and strong with no bitterness!

With all the restaurants and bars in town, you'd be better off almost anywhere else.
We are staying at the Distinction Luxmore, where this restaurant is located. At about 7:45, we arrived for a drink and light meal. All the booths and tables were full. That wasn't the problem. We didn't have a reservation (which they don't take).
The problem was that, at least when we arrived, there wasn't a specified person handling the guests waiting. Diners enter the restaurant from two main entrances. The person Seating them, which seemed to be whoever was working at the cash register, is near the entrance opposite where we waited in the bar. That meant that our table was given to others. Out of sight, out of mind.
Finally, I realized what was happening, asked a manager if we could be seated for food service in the bar (yes, we could). He had the recently-emptied table cleared and cleaned, and we were seated.
At first, the service was quite attentive. But then we were delivered the wrong food. (Human error, no big deal.) My food arrived fairly soon, and it was disappointing.
The seared scallops were not very hot. They sat on a bed of salad that was overdressed to the point of sogginess.
We had ordered the bread assortment to be served with the meals, but it came early. It was just toast, nothing very interesting.
Again, until this place is renovated and the process for Seating people is streamlined, try somewhere else!
