We ate here while in the area for the start of the rail trail journey. It was recommended and we were not disappointed. Excellent service and great food. All visitors are welcome. Would certainly call again when in the area.

We visited on Labour Day (yesterday) and the woman working was so friendly, welcoming and cheerful. She made conversation in an effort to get to know us and we were just stopped for a quick coffee, chai and a muffin before finishing the Forgotten World Hwy drive. Lots of indoor and outdoor Seating and could accommodate large groups. Beautiful Gardens around, and located beside the river.
We were told to be sure to come back in January for the best viewing of the lavender fields in bloom. The attached gift shop has a nice assortment of their lavender products such as moisturizer, candles, bars of soap, foot scrub, lip balm, bath salts, etc. I LOVE the smell of lavender so I purchased the moisturizer for $25.
Clean toilets with lavender hand soap (of course!). We most certainly will return when in the Taumaranui area!

Great food and drink at a reasonable price. Plenty of parking nearby. Friendly staff. Good range of food and drink. Definitely will drop in when I go past next time.

Stopped here for breakfast before leaving town as it was close to the hotel. Ordered straightaway and sat down. Only one other customer there. Food and service were both mediocre. It's hard to stuff up bacon and eggs. Realized before leaving that this is a cafe with a religious Mission. I would not eat here again.

This is a takeaway and not sit down restaurant. Had a mixed bag of food. Mostly acceptable. Must depend on who's cooking. Fresh fish comes in on a Thursday so depending on what fish available. Sonetimes snapper or blue cod. Worst visit the chips soggy and batter not great. Last visit a week ago and delicious gurnard oysters and chips which were crunchy. Home made chips so all different sizes and nice if cooked crunchy and not soggy prices reasonable.

The destination where authentic Indian food blends with modern style, to achieve excellence in food definition. We have gluten free, Dairy Free and Vegan Option available in the restaurant
I found the staff concerned that I had a good meal and that I got what I asked for. I ordered Onion Bhaji, Beef Vindaloo, garlic Naan and rice. There was a bit of discussion on whether I wanted Western "hot" or Indian hot. I got the meal how hot I wanted. The prices were very good and the food of good quality. I thought the Bhaji to be a little burnt, but everything else was just right. The wine list was varied and inexpensive by the glass and bottle. I would have preferred of a higher quality. It is worth comjng back to, given the variety of dishes, including a wide vegetarian choice.

Fantastic Breakfast
5 People for breakfast early in the morning could worry some people but the staff coped very well with serving us.
Breakfast was lovely. all having different cooked breakfasts were perfect, eggs soft and tasty. Bacon crispy , when you ask for crispy bacon - it is nice to get crispy bacon
Nothing was to much for the lovely guy serving
we could change eggs for hash browns, tomato for anything you wanted

Copper Tree Cafe aims to deliver fresh and tasty, quality food with great coffee, and excellent service. The blackboard menu caters for the hungry with breakfast/ brunch and lunch options. Cabinet food is made fresh daily, on-site, with something for everyone - including gluten-free options. We are open Monday to Saturday from 9am, with dinners on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights from 6pm.
The food here was tasty but the choices were limited by the fact that we went for lunch after 2.30pm, when the blackboard menu items were no longer available and there was only counter food, so hardly fair to criticize.

This cafe has a simple menu but if you want something different, just ask. The food is well cooked and delicious and the staff are efficient and friendly.
