Tiny Tadoussac, a Quebecois village of fewer than 900 inhabitants on the St. Lawrence River, is renowned as a whale watching destination. Tours are readily available to see the vast creatures feast on krill in the St. Lawrence and to explore the stunning Saguenay fjord, but you can often spot whales from the shore. The oldest surviving French settlement in the Americas, Tadoussac has a slew of national parks within easy reach. There is a frequent free ferry service across the Saguenay River.

Cozy, lots of variety and speedy service. During our short trip over to Lac Tadoussac we enjoyed dinner here together with my parents and sister. We all ordered different dishes including the Caesar salad, salmon burger, and the Angus steak. We enjoyed the warm bread with butter as a complimentary appetizer and the Brownie ice-cream dish for dessert. It was the perfect meal, in a cozy place, but the staff was very indifferent although the service was pretty fast. I’d recommend this restaurant also because there doesn’t seem to be much else around.

We stopped here for a snack, cup of tea and a hot chocolate. It was relatively busy- folks waiting for our table when we left. The staff seemed very busy!
We had a great pastry- warm and tasty. Hot chocolate was not even warm- not sure why that is. We asked for a black tea- they brought Earl Grey (technically black but any tea drinker will tell you this would be a special request not a basic black tea) and no milk. We hadn't quite figured out at this point in Quebec if you order "tea" and don't say milk (or lait) you don't get any. Doesn't happen with coffee as we can see!
Challenging to get the server's attention but it wasn't impossible- everyone seemed quite used to people just getting up and going to them at the bar.
As we sat having our snacks a huge rainbow appeared over the harbour! Blue sky, sun and rainbow- seemed to be a good omen.

My husband and I were looking for fresh salmon and this was the last restaurant we checked and voila! Fresh Salmon with hollandaise, lovely rice and steamed vegetables. Service was wonderful, friendly and efficient. This restaurant is next door to a hostel which, on the night we visited, had a jam session with fabulous musicians, lively patrons and a bar!

The restaurant is good average in the Canadian restaurant. Probably in Tadoussac it can be considered one of the best. Place is not special; no view of anything. Service is good enough. Menu is actually "short" and traditional. Food is good enough but fresh.
Price is a little bit over the average.

Went with my family for a lunch post whale watching. Nice staff, good food - the local soup was excellent. And had the three small beer selection served in an oar. We enjoyed it and it is a good choice for lunch with some good music too. Very child friendly.

Usually one has to be careful with restaurants that offer a very large choice of dishes because very often the quality suffers. In this case we were lucky and all was perfect including the friendly service and the relaxed atmosphere.

Their buffet is a mixture of homemade traditional Quebecois dishes and regular dishes, but not many to choose from.
Large windows for a great view of the bay and surrounding hills. Friendly staff. Very well-priced for the quality for the food you get, especially in a buffet.

I am not sure why this place is listed under restaurants and accommodations, as it has not been a public restaurant in a long time. It IS a delightful B&B and the dining room is beautiful, with expansive views of the St. Lawrence. You can even catch sight of whales through the windows here. The breakfast served here starts with a yogurt parfait - a good, plain yogurt mixed with the day's topping, such as blueberries and granola or apple with crumb topping. This course is followed by a changing bread basket accompanied by wonderful house-made confitures, and a main plate with fruit and crepes or French toast or perhaps a thick slice of banana bread with chocolate chips. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and orange juice are included. Very nice!

A nice place to stop if you want poutine or burger at a good price. And the best part... there is an ice cream parlour next door to finish off your meal.

Located in Tadoussac's original general store, our cafe is a friendly bistro where the rich aroma of espresso coffee blends with that of tasty fine pizza. We pride ourselves in using available local products in a flavorful and unpretentious cuisine. On the menu: smoked fish, gourmet burgers, salads, duck confit, meals for children, breakfast and fine desserts. Also a nice selection of original house cocktails, regional microbrewed beers and privately imported wines. Bon appétit!
One of many little restaurants on the Main Street in Tadoussac, charming, quaint. Fantastic meal. Touch pricey, but well worth it. We had no Reservations, but were offfed the bar seats for our meal. Service was friendly, but not super attentive because it was so busy. My Arctic Char was delicious, but it was the Pasta which stole the show. Both my husband and daughter had the seafood linguini, and it was to die for. Lobster, mussels, clams, shrimp. I spent the whole meal coveting their pasta! So good! Dessert - Chomeur Pudding, OMG. So Devine! We loved our meal. Merci.
