Went to a joint baby shower this weekend at Zamanis’s and had the best afternoon. Excellent hospitality from the owners and staff who catered for a large number of people. Food was excellent as usual. Thank yo7 for making it such a special day for the two beautiful mummies to be.

Lived in Hartshorne for around 5 years now and before this place was taken over it was awful, greasy food and bad service. Now it’s some very new owners, very friendly, and they do a mean steak Sandwich with extras, sweet potato fries are glorious, great price. They’re happy to come out and say hi to the dogs too which is very nice. I’m looking forward to going back this summer.

We booked as a family for a Mothers Day treat, and despite having enjoyed the experience here previously we were subjected to pretty poor service on this occasion. Admittedly they were busy...it was Mothers Day, however we had booked in advance. We were ignored completely as we entered the restaurant for the first 5 long minutes, then upon acknowledgement by one of the key staff, we were asked to bear with them, they were busy. I asked approximately how long she thought it may be until we were seated, she replied 5 minutes or so......So we were very disappointed to still be waiting without any further acknowledgement 20 minutes later. I asked again how long she thought it would be until we were seated...no realistic answer part from you can have a free drink on us while you wait.....WE HAD ALREADY WAITED 25 MINUTES WITH NO DRINK OR ANY REAL COMMUNICATION ON YOUR PART....so after asking the rest of our party if we should wait longer or seek out a meal elsewhere, we decided total our business elsewhere. This was a very poor performance from the Diner staff as a whole ..... A lost family of customers I am afraid 50s diner.....Not that I am sure you will have any issue with our decision....

Montanaro's is a true gem of a find. This restaurant offers friendly, intimate surroundings. Staff are really friendly, happy to interact and share a laugh with diners. Inside is only small but clean and nicely presented. Food was amazing, steaks cooked to perfection, prawn dish delicious and the portion sizes were enough for any one. Good selection of wine, well worth a visit as a couple, a group or a party. Give Montanaro's a visit, you won't be disappointed. This was our first visit for my birthday celebration but it won't be our last

All of our food is freshly prepared on site with a carvery served every Sunday and theme nights throughout the week. Book in advance to avoid disappointment
Went for lunch with two friends and menu sounded lovely. The waitresses were friendly, helpful and very hard working but the food was a real disappointment.
One of us ordered chicken, pea and leek risotto and the two of us ordered roast salmon with broad beans, beetroot mash, broccoli and chive butter.
The risotto was a huge dish of gloopy, white rice and white chicken with a serving of rocket. It looked so unappetising and our friend sent it back and had scampi I stead which was fine.
The salmon was nicely presented but the veg had no seasoning and were so bland you couldn’t taste anything. The salmon hadn’t been roasted but tasted as if it had been cooked in a hot plate used for burgers and suchlike. It was oily and sour and tasted of meat that I do not eat. The taste lingered in our mouths for ages afterwards.
The puddings were fine and the ambience was good but the place was cold which didn’t help.
We have been many times in the past but have heard many bad reports recently. We thought we would give it a chance but none of us will be going back.

Well how lucky you folks in Burton on Trent are to have this amazing little gem.
The food is exceptional, the menu excellent selection, the presentation stunning, the service ''with a smile'' so friendly and courteous and value for money is amazing.
We called by chance and got in straight away ( it was an odd time) and could not believe what we had stumbled on!
Ive travelled the world Thai is my favourite and Ive been to many top restaurants in the UK - yet this has topped them all.
The building may not be fantastic but they have done their best and it is pleasant enough to eat in - even the tables are lovely and clean and don't have that sticky ''not cleaned properly'' feel to them.
if this was local to me I would go every day - i will certainly be finding an excuse to go back soon. Takeaway is also an option...
If you know anything about Thai, You wont be disappointed,

Marianna Frusciante, and her partner Paul Cookson, became the new proprietors of Pinocchio’s Italian Restaurant in 2005.This was somewhat of a homecoming, as Marianna’s father Antonio, had first opened and ran the restaurant for three years in the 1980’s. It was then known as 'Torino’s, in the former Bargates Shopping centre. Now pinocchios is serving up home cooked Italian food in friendly relaxed surroundings.
It’s always nice to find a family run restaurant where people are passionate about providing great customer service. The food is lovely and the restaurant clearly benefits from regular repeat customers and you can see why. Service is attentive but not fussy, portions are good and the food is high quality. We will definitely be visiting again.

Went to the bulls head not been for some time not for any particular reason, went with my husband and parents. It’s had a facelift looks really good. Ordered our food all four of us had different meals, gammon, scampi, steak and steak and ale pie. The food came was absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection, good sized portions. 2 courses for £13.95 so had to have a dessert. Baileys cheesecake was to die for. A great experience will definitely be going back soon.

I've not been to the Tall Chimney in a while but decided to go for Mother's Day. It has always been quite good in the past. This time was different though...
When we arrived we had to wait for them to clear the table, we sat down but none of us felt comfortable with the table/seating so we asked an employee if we could be moved, he went away but did not return. We asked another gentleman when he had seated another family and he was happy to seat us on a different table.
We went up the bar to order our meals but the employee behind the bar did not know anything about the Mother's Day offer that was on and had to get it clarified by another employee.
The meal portions have become smaller since I last went and even though on the menu the lasagne came with 2 ciabatta slices, it came with one that was cut in half. My meal was hot but my friend's chips were barely warm.
We was given someone else's dessert because they had mixed the tables up.
My friend's little boy had spilt a drink on the table, luckily I carry around tissues as the employee we asked for napkins did not return with any for several minutes until she brought our desserts.
Before leaving I asked about the deposit I had paid for when booking over the phone, I was told it should of been taken off the bill when I paid at the bar, which it hadn't been and they couldn't even find my booking even though they had it when I entered.
The only positives about the visit where that meals arrived quite quickly for saying how busy it was in there and I was served quickly at the bar when I went up.
