I ordered Takeout for dinner during my visit to Paramaribo. This restaurant does not accept US currency or do Delivery, however a taxi can be hired to pick up the food, for a small charge ....depending on where you may be staying (if not driving yourself).
The prices are affordable and taste was good and a wide variety of options are available on the menu. The website translates Into 4 languages, and I found this helpful when placing the Takeout order over the phone.

In Bodega & Grill de Waag are you welcome for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have an extensive lunch menu and tapas menu. In the evening a lot of grill platters with an Caribbean touch. There is an international wine list and there are special selected wines in the wine by glass system. We're serving fair-trade coffee of the brand PURO
Because of the rain I sat inside on the tables resembling wages. Service was very nice and friendly. I ordered a club Sandwich and French fries and a juice. The juice was good. The French fries are served with mayonnaise and ketchup. The club Sandwich was served with taco chips. When you want to have diner here in the xmas and new year period reserve in advance. A lot of restaurants are fully booked in this period, including the Waag.

We like this casual place in a quiet area by the Suriname river and Fort Zeelandia, especially when in dry weather one can sit outside. Service by young black waiters is very friendly and fast. On top they speak good English.
Inside there is a board with the dishes of the day written in Dutch on a board. It was a chance for us to try some local plates. So we ordered a piece of 'Pom', one of the best known recipes of Suriname, a pie of apparently Portuguese-Jewish origin. It was served with Tayer (Taro leaves), Kousenband (Yardlong Beans) and with Rice. The chicken pieces were not integrated in the Pom, but came in a separate little bowl. Since the chicken and the Pom were slightly sweet, we were happy for a tiny bowl with homemade red hot pepper.
They have beer and wine by the glass, but only Chardonnay and a rosé Zinfandel, both from California. Red wine was not available. We finished dinner with a typical Surinamese dessert, called Bojo. It is a cake made from Cassava flour with Coconut Milk, Raisins, Vanilla Extract and Cinnamon. Very tasty again.

Creole & Indian cuisine.
In Surinam you never go for a romantic dinner, it's always for a good dinner: the best food in a kind of bathroom-styled restaurant. Delicious roti (chicken, veggie, lamb and more) try the bara. Yum yum!

Tropial Casual Fine Dining in the Heart of Paramaribo. We feature a contemporary fusion menu with popular menu items such as Vietnamese Nem, Seafood Seviche, Local Palmito, Grilled Black Angus Tenderloin, Local Seafood, and Crispy Skin Duck. On appointment we also prepare authentic Japanese Sushi, which you can enjoy in our authentic Japanese Tatami Room.
Anything we read seemed to have this as a Japanese restaurant but it was anything but. I had a beef steak, my husband had ribs, and our friends had beef and fish. We sat outside in the garden area and it is quite lovely. Service...MoreHi Elaine, Thank you for dining at Spice Quest, we are glad to hear that you and your guests enjoyed your dinner. We hope to be of service again in the future. Warm Regards, Patrick

Garden of Eden is a Thai Restaurant and Lounge Bar serving authentic Thai food prepared by Thai chefs.
We were here 2 years ago and this is still one of the most beautiful places I have been. The food is only outdone by the setting. To sit and eat a beautifully prepared meal amongst the towering palm trees and feel the sand under food is just so special.
The food is exceptional, great tasting and presented with a flair only found in high end restaurants.
Just that added bit of class.....there is a fan in the menu for you to use if you are hot and they also provided bug spray since all is outside.
There are beautiful pieces of artwork and statues scattered around, and a small sitting area adjacent to the toilets so if you need to wait, you do so in comfort.

We had a special dinner here with a five course surprise menu, a wine pairing and live music. The outdoor setting is stunning and the tables are situated far enough apart for privacy. The food was fine dining and beautifully presented. With a bit more training, the serving staff could be top notch. They're friendly and willing but made some beginner's errors (such as not removing salt and pepper shakers before serving dessert). All in all a great evening.

Had lunch here 5 years ago. The place is still very nice for the ambiance but I found the food to be less tasty compared to my prior visit. I know friends and family members that cook better than that and goes to a restaurant to top friends and family their kitchen skills. They were very busy which does says something.

We went for the peanut soup and the bowl was huge. I should have ordered the small portion. Service was great, Malbec wine good and my husband had pork which was better than the soup. I thought the soup was too rich but the crushed fresh chilies helped spice it up. They don’t take visa only MasterCard.
