This refurbished coffee lounge is pleasant and the staff are very friendly. The food is great and I really enjoy it.

when you are doing the forgotten highway you'll release that despite forgetting to add petrol stations they also forgot to add places to eat at. So the Whanganonona is an oasis. They could have done nothing and still people would have stopped, but in fairness they have cleaned up the place a bit and made something of an effort..

Had a family night out and the food was ok except that the mushroom sauce had one mushroom in it but the fact that we changed the slaw salad to a side salad and had to pay the full price for this is quite cheeky. It's not about the money but the way it's handled, leaves a sour aftertaste.

We had a lovely dump of snow over the weekend and lots of locals went up Mt Taranaki via Pembroke Road, Stratford. Via this road you will see Stratford Mountain House before getting on the ski slopes. After a little snow fun we headed there...MoreThank you for your positive feedback, yes it was a busy day, the snow and school holidays, hope to see you back to try a new dish on the menu Lynne

We love this place. Perfect for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The food is always good quality - The French Toast with Black Doris Plum is my current preference and the Chicken Quesadilla is my hubby's favourite. We visit here regularly and I've tried everything on the menu excluding the porridge but when winter hits I'm there! Keep an eye our for specials in the cabinet and if the Lamb Curry is on offer please try it :-) The menu caters for hungry tums as well as the smaller pallet. The home made scones and muffins are yummy too. We love this place so much we used them to cater for our wedding too!
The coffee is excellent - best in Taranaki (and I drink a LOT of coffee)
They have a separate function room and will cater for your private function from a family brunch to a wedding do. Can't recommend enough!

When I go to Broadway Fast Foods I will have their smorgasbords or a roast meal. Why? Because with both these options I can be in and out of there in under 5 minutes and not have to sit around trying to ignore everyone else in there. I have frequented that shop at least once a fortnight for the past 10 years and have never been disappointed with the quality and temperature of the food, the smorgasbord selection or the size of the roast meals. Their roast pork is to die for. During the whole time the shop has been managed by a Chinese guy called Ken whom I have found to be friendly as well as efficient, despite his struggle with English. Sometimes I think he is let down by some of the younger counter staff he is kind enough to hire - too kind in my opinion in a lot of cases!

Midhirst Tavern and Restaurant pride themselves on providing the quality service and fantastic meals that keep our regulars coming back for more with a great selection of meals on offer.
Have had dinner here with work mates several times. Always warm and friendly atmosphere. Great home style meals. Excellent value. Well worth the stop.

We visited after visiting the Percy Thomson Art Gallery next door. We chose food from the cabinet which just needed heating. This should have have been relatively quick, but we waited almost half an hour. The cafe wasn't particularly busy so we couldn't understand the long wait. There wasn't a great deal of choice in the cabinet either. Not a place I would recommend.

Despite what it lacks in location the Stadium Restaurant and Bar more than makes up for it with good service and delicious food. I found the menu to be excellent with options to tempt everyone. The kids in our party loved their meals and the desserts left us wanting more. A relaxed atmosphere for families, great food and helpful staff. We'll come back next time we are in town.

If you are looking for somewhere to go in Stratford for a great meal you must stop in at Marsala Bay! My husband and I went for a meal on a rainy Monday night and it was just delicious!! The service was amazing and our waiter was so friendly and aimed to please. The meal arrived promptly and was fresh and we honestly have nothing bad to say about it. We had a Chicken Madras and lamb nawabi and the meat for both curries was very tender. Also had a mixed platter entree for two and thoroughly recommend it. Prices are reasonable and well worth it. Will definitely go back again.
A must stop if you are passing through
