Great asparagus Risotto, great Kalbsleberli. Great Table outside. The Beefsteak Tatar ( hot) was good but the color /texture has changed and we dont like changes on a good dish for many years. The selection of the Linde, as you look around on other tables goes from simple ( budget) to fancy veal. Vine selection and service Is good Three waiting on us was 2 too much though. And one day we will try UPSTAIRS again and the hotel we dont know. I would book blindly if I was needing a room in Stans. Pitty not many tourist see this part of Central Switzerland. Stans is real!

Restaurant is part of Hotel Stanserhof. Very friendly owners/staff. Good atmosphere indoors. Food was reasonably authentic although quiet expensive for what they offer - and compared to alternatives in Switzerland. Other Tripadvisor reviews indicated poor choice, but (in evenings) we thought there was a reasonable selection - although I was hoping for some Chinese food. It is mainly just Thai food (with one Indian curry). Service was pretty slow, but then we weren't in a hurry so it didn't matter to us. I had the Wonton soup that another reviewer said needed "a bit more seasoning' - so I asked for it to be 'spicy'. It certainly was very spicy. (too hot). The bill for two without dessert (except one scoop of lemon sorbet) and only one drinking any wine came to CHF 145.00). This is totally too much for what we had. The next evening in another hotel in Engleberg we enjoyed a four course real gourmet meal for two with wine etc for CHF 135.00. The other restaurant was so good we booked an extra night at the hotel - just so we can go back to this restaurant again (tonight).

The restaurant philosophy is simple and straight forward: «fresh, uncomplicated and good». We use exclusively fresh products like cheese from the neighbouring alps, locally produced spirits and meats from local farmers. The menus offered depend on the season, our guests desire as well as the daily changing mood of your host and chef, making it clear: «we serve what we have». Please note that dinner is served in the restaurant from Wednesday to Saturday, lunch is served Sundays. Because the restaurant is rather small, table Reservations are essential. Room Reservations do not automatically include a table reservation.
Super concept, host, Daniel, comes to welcome you already at the parking area. First you are led into a specialty room where you can take your aperitif and enjoy some fresh specialties. If you're lucky it will be some dried venison or similar which come straight from the hunt in which Daniel does himself. After aperitif you are brought to your table and you enjoy an explosion of different tastes and a masterpiece of food! Not really a choice in the menu, Daniel will cook whatever is in season and fresh from the market. Absolutely special and very delicious!

Many people indicate the chance to eat in the revolving restaurant, so I am sure there must be something to it. For ourselves, we preferred to have our self-service food outside on this marvelous early September day when we visited this mountain. Sitting outside in the fresh air, enjoying a great view and even some folklorist presentation on Alphorns, Schwyzerörgeli (Swiss version of accordion) and other to me unknown instruments enhanced the experience. We also enjoyed our typical Swiss veal sausage (Kalbsbratwurst) with onion sauce as well as their excellent Älplermagrone. Things are not cheap up here - after all this is Switzerland and you are on a mountaintop where everything has to be moved up - but the ambience definitely makes it worthwhile.

We were fortunate enough to stay at this hotel for a night and had the best time! We were very impressed with the staff, the amenities, the premises, the food, and especially the pools. Quite a splurge for us, but so worth it to spoil ourselves since we were in heaven (with the best views, nonetheless).

Aiola is located in a quiet cove of Lake Lucerne, with a pretty view on Hergiswil, Mt Pilatus and the Kastanienbaum peninsula. Aiola define themselves as mediterranean but the execution of the cuisine is more "swiss germanean" than mediterranean.
Starters in the teens, meat dishes reaching in the mid 40's mean higher expectations in terms of quality. My rucola/parmiggiano salad was plain ordinary, so was my wife's green salad: leaves and industrial sauce on the side. I wanted pork medallions but they were out so I took beef fillet instead. Meat was tender but too lightly seasoned, and strangely covered with molten cheese. Who decks fillet mignon with cheese ? My wife's truffle tagliatelle was light on truffles but generously doused in olive oil. Desserts were good.
All of that for 135 CHF for 2, including one glass of wine and one coffee. Wasn't bad, but wasn't great either and certainly underwhelming value for money. I expect more refinement for that kind of price. Or else to pay a whole lot less for that kind of cuisine. Service ok.

We came here for what was to be a quick lunch with friends and were positively surprised by the nice and welcoming atmosphere as well as the excellent three course menue. There is a good variety to chose from and individually combine. Everything was nicely presented and tasted excellent. Fair prices as well, I think lunch starts at around CHF 40 for two (excellent) courses. We will come again!

The Brasserie le Mirage is my favorite restaurant in all of Kanton Nidwalden. The restaurant is gorgeous, service is of the highest caliber, and the food flawless. It is a wonderful place to stop for lunch and I always recommend one of the daily menus which often includes a most delicious soup and salad with their signature dressing. This is our favorite spot for celebratory dinners and we never miss a chance to pop in around Christmastime as the restaurant has the most fantastic and festive decorations. We recently stopped in for coffee and dessert and I managed to eat an entire trio of sweets myself. I have enjoyed every meal, but would recommend that you make sure to order their daily soup. It is always out of this world.

Thanks to the Guide Michelin I discovered this charming restaurant, near the beautiful main square of Stans. It offers fantastic food and great service in a relaxed atmosphere.
I had lunch on the lovely garden Terrace. A huge thumbs-up to the staff (including the tenant herself, Mrs Meier) for providing a friendly and efficient, yet unobstrusive service.
The menu prouds itself on regional and seasonal produce. I began with the "summer salad" with goat cheese - a perfect starter on a warm day. As main course I chose the house current recommendation: pan-fried trout fillet in an almond and lemon sauce, served with vegetables. The portion proved generous, the fish was fresh and perfectly prepared. As dessert I had the homemade chocolate mousse: truly to die for!
Swiss price level is admittedly very high and Rosenburg makes no exception. Including wine and coffee the bill amounted to CHF98. Definitely not cheap - but the food quality and great service are well worth it.
