Kleinsasserhof is both a delightful and eccentric guest house and a very popular restaurant. We stayed there for two nights and ate both breakfast and dinner there.
The breakfasts were outstandingly generous with a wonderful array of fresh foods and cereals. Add to this outstanding cooked eggs and coffee - you could not ask for more.
Our meal on one night was a set menu party and was also generous in the extreme. The menu was focused on the best local cuisine and was wonderful. The other night we ate a la carte and the only reason I have not rated this restaurant as excellent was that I had difficulty choosing a meal that was not too large or too rich. Clearly this is not a problem for the Austrian palate as all the other reviews suggest. Well worth a visit if you want to experience true local cuisine.

My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to happen upon Pizzeria Al-Lago (staying across the road in Pension Oberwinkler) and had a great experience. Lovely, warm hostess (Ingrid), great food, reasonable prices and service with a smile. Please support an independent family business, well worth it!

"Austrian and International. Mettnitzer has been awarded with a cap and offers an excellent food combined with a great ambience in a beautiful historical house".
The food is truly high class and of exceptional taste and quality. For this kind of meal, which is quite exceptional, the prices are fairly reasonable. The setting and the interior are fascinating also. Staff is very polite but bit on a "stiff upper lip" side especially when you address them in English, which, on the other hand, they speak quite fluently.
All in all an outstanding dining experience!

A must try. If you are not picky with the ingredients, you really can't go wrong, deliciously baked potatoes will blow your mind. Garlic soup is one of my favourites as well. Highly recommended.

The Pichl Hütte is a lovely place to visit, hike and relax. Our family has returned here time and again over several decades for all of the best reasons.
The views and ambience are spectacular, the food is excellent and the hosts are warm and welcome.
You can hike all the way from town or drive up a winding gravel road, but however you arrive, you can look forward to spending time in a quiet, peaceful place you'll not soon wish to be leaving.

We walked in off the street and the place was crowded, When we asked for a table for two, things didn't look good as we didn't have a reservation. Fortunately, the staff were extremely helpful and found us a table in minutes and are we glad they did! The bad news is that they don't have an English menu, all the dishes are named in English but with a German description. Given the fact that this is the only English review on here, maybe they don't need one. Anyway, the food was excellent, very well priced and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. If you are ever anywhere in the vicinity of this restaurant, you must call in, it will be well worth it! Probably best if you make a reservation first though.

Nice set lunch, good glass of gelber Muskateller, very good attentive service. Food is Austrian trad. style. We enjoyed our meal. Trout was perfectly cooked. We even enjoyed the pak choy veg. I never buy this in Asia because it is never well prepared. In Zellot chef turned it into a delicious veg.
