Some time ago, yes a pleasant experience with tasty meats, be it quite fattening :-) Noticed that staff were not happy not to be overtipped. In the Netherlands, not to miss out on it, they include the tip into the bill, call it "dervice charge".

I've enjoyed my Sandwich but my partner got a too complicated 'club sandwich' which was an absolute disaster when eating (everything fell apart)
Was a piece of artwork though, lol.
Very nice staff.
We were the only custumors but felt like we had to wait a bit long for 2 cold lunch dishes.
Overall, nice experience great fresh food. Definitely visiting again.

We went for a girls day out to In den Biesenschuur for a High Tea. This place is very cosy and informal.
We booked for a normal High Tea. This means 3 rounds and every round accompanied with a pot tea. If you don't like it after all you are able to choose an other one, which is very nice. Not that we needed it :-)
First round you get hearty treats like a Sandwich with chicken fillet and home made mango chutney, Quiche etc. Very tasty and freshly made. We ordered the Champaign truffle tea, you should definitely try this one!
Second round you get a home made scone with clotted cream, strawberry jam and lemon curd.
Third round the sweets came in. There was a homemade cheesecake mandarin, chocolates, cookies etc.
If you want a relaxed high tea in a homely feeling environment with freshly made stuff go there, if not go there :-)
The staff is very nice and easy going.
Besides enjoying a high tea you can buy tea in every taste and all accompanied supplies you need to make a nice cup of tea. Of course we bought some tea and supplies. We can also recommend the Male tea with champaign granulate!
If you can't finish your sweets the are willing to pack it for you. You can also order high tea to go so you can show off at home :-)
To catch up with friends or family and enjoy some nice teas and food, go there!
Per person EUR 20,95 good price for what you get.

This is a small place that serves mostly Japanese dishes (sushi!). The concept is you have 5 rounds to order dishes. Each round you can order 5 dishes per person. The dishes are small but do not underestimate how much it fills. No human can get to round 5.
The choice of sushi is large and has some surprising varieties that I have not seen anywhere else. With cheese or chicken for instance.
In fact the whole menu is so full of choices you will have a hard time trying it all.
The service is swift and friendly.

We have been working in the area and have come here every Wednesday evening since we have been here.
We are always greeted by a welcoming staff and have not booked as we do arrive quite late but they always have made an effort to fit us in.
The food here is lovely especially the onion soup and the prawn for a start.
The mains are huge so this i s a good place to go hungry to.
The house red is good.
We have enjoyed this restaurant every time we have been here and i recommend others to try it.

When you choose to travel by car for a visit to tapas restaurant "Olijf", the multilevel car park "Boekenberg" is especially suited for the purpose. The pedestrian way-out drops you right behind the restaurant and the parking fee is moderate. The web site of "Olijf" contains this excellent advice. The restaurant is located in a historic building in the Voorstraat, one of the streets that are left over from the old village Spijkenisse. The atmosphere of the restaurant can be soothing, except that there were somewhat more flies in residence than you could wish in a restaurant with an open kitchen. Later on the evening one fly decided to have a bath in my wine glass. Brrr... Furthermore, the somewhat irritating music over the speaker system clashed with the restaurant appointments. It is my opinion that music in shops or restaurants is mostly there for the pleasure of the staff, not for the customer. Service of the staff was friendly, but mechanically. The Dutch are not very good in hospitality and serving customers, not like Italy, where hospitality and serving customers is an art. Furthermore, our waitress omitted to bring clean plates for the main course; a grave mistake. It was also difficult to attract the attention of the staff. In the end it was impossible to get our bill presented to the table, so we decided to take our coats and ask for the bill at the counter. But how was the food then? Olijf is a tapas restaurant, where you share with your table companion divers small portions, ordered from the menu. Generally, the food was well prepared. Sauces are to be avoided, they come out of a bottle. I must say the slices egg pancake with salmon and cream cheese filling were delicious and also the pork medallions with bacon wrapping were cooked perfectly. However, later on my digestion system told me that possibly the chef of Olijf uses flavour enhancers in the preparation of the food. Maybe salt MSG. (Also called ve-tsin in Chinese restaurants). I may be wrong, but I am very sensitive for this additive. What shall I say about Olijf. It can be a very nice restaurant when some easy improvements are made by the management. But they do something right. The restaurant was busy on this weekday and mostly with regular customers.

Have been to this restaurant several times over the years, and have never been disappointed. Huge portions of good food, not the cheapest but well worth the expense. Love the garden and it's retractable roof for when it rains. Took my mother there for her birthday recently, it's probably the best place in the area for vegetarian food, and she loved it. Very good indeed.

We regularly visit Spijkenisse to have lunch or dinner with our business partners who work in the various projects around the Botlek Area.
This Bistro restaurant has an annex Dutch type cafetaria with a nice Terrace. The Bistro has a menu that caters for everybody. The quality of the dishes is quite well prepared with fresh ingrediens.
Next to the standard bistro dishes, the menu lists other more adventurous dishes that are also well prepared. An example is the Sashimi, which is has tuna, salmon and meat raw cuts that brings the sashimi experience as close as possible to Dutch cuisine. I like it because the fish and meat cuts are of good quality.
This is a restaurant you can bring your guests to with confidence, it is not too fancy, very Dutch and the service is very friendly
The venue is a typical Dutch family cafe

Pak Boli started as small Chinese restaurant in 1979 and is grown into a Chinese Wokrestaurant with a cosy atmosphere. At this restaurant you can enjoy the wok and buffet without limits for a low fixed price. Rather eat the food somewhere else? Pak Boli can deliver your food to any place within the city Spijkenisse. Catering and take-away is possible as well.
I am regularly in the Netherlands and know this restaurant from the take away foods. These are quite good, I would say remarkably good, for the price. It's Chinese and Indonesian foods somewhat tunes to the Dutch taste. Staff is friendly, waiting times are acceptable. Undoubtedly the restaurant serves food of the same quality and I recommend going there and check it yourself. Not being a wok man I normally avoid wok places.
