We are on a small tour of Umbria staying in Spello. Last night, our tour organizer arranged a cooking class/ demonstration that was out of this world! Not only fun and informative but every bit DELICIOUS! Each course beatufully paired with the correct local wine, the Gnocchi and sausage (which was created with the help of our group) were to die for. The warm, friendly staff made sure we had a memorable experience of a lifetime.

Great food, meat and cheeses and the lightest pumpkin soufflé to start. Wild boar ragu with tagliatelle, rabbit, pork cooked porchetta style to follow. Then chocolate fondant with ice cream, pannacotta with pears poached in Sagrantino and cinnamon. Coffee and grappa to finish. English menu, English speaking staff who love it when you try Italian, great service, amazing food

We ate here on a Sunday night and there was plenty of tables taken.
The setting is a very nice blend restored cellar rooms, modern styling and comfortable Seating. The service team is very professional, bright and friendly.
The food is excellent with a modern touch to all the classics you would expect to find. A very complete wine list with plenty of local choices and some from father afield.
All at reasonable pricing, although slightly above average for the area perhaps. Definitely a good value for the quality.
We would definitely go again, if in the area.

Postiglione is exactly what you should expect from a good restaurant in Umbria: Local foods prepared perfectly, unpretentious presentations, good service and an inviting dining environment. This restaurant is known locally for its house antipasto which you will really enjoy. Be forewarned that if you intend to order the antipasto, you had better be very hungry because it's a lot of food before the main courses. The antipasto consisted of a warm liver puree with bruschetta, snails, pan-fried cheese, mortadella scrambled eggs with truffle (exquisite) pork cheeks with arugula. Very good!

We enjoyed out meal at Da Dada. Nothing fancy, just a good home-cooked Umbrian meal. The ingredients were all first rate. The service was prompt and efficient, typical for Italy (meaning they're not fawning all over you, as in the states). Our server explained in broken English the menu del giorno and a couple of fixed price options. My wife and I both ordered mushroom lasagna, split a contorno of zucchini, and two glasses of vino bianco. An excellent deal, only 29 euro. We were not famished when we arrived, so we did not go the complete route with an antipasto, secondo piatto, & dolci.

Enoteca Properzio 2 is set in a very specific context, specifically in a place dating in 1550, part of the famous palazzo dei Canonici , next to the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore in Spello. Legend says that here Pinturicchio lived and worked in this environment for a long time , (considered the most celebrated artist in the area).

Enoteca Properzio 2 , also protected by the Fine Arts, comes from the requeirement to offer customers a greater and more impressive space compared to the original Properzio 1. The restaurant is divided into several areas, designed for the maximum comfort of guests: outdoor area with umbrellas, indoor dining rooms , rooms for private tastings and a large interior courtyard for summer.

Why do people choose Enoteca Properzio 2?
It is the ideal place for breakfasts, lunches and exclusive dinners with tasting menus or a la carte or even to enjoy amazing aperitivi at any time during your day.
Even though there were three large groups being served, we were greeted and seated promptly and served graciously. After some complementary bruscchetta with olive oil, four of us shared lasagna, tagliatelle, boar, black celery parmesan, and a large salad with ripe tomatoes and greens. The charming hostess commented on each dish and the wine. Total bill was 60 Euros. An excellent lunch, great setting and service, very reasonable.

Pasta fatta in casa , carni alla brace , dolci fatti in casa
We were hungry after walking through town and stopped here based on the recommendation of the owner of our apartment. The Insalata Mista was shareable, and made up of the freshest ingredients. We ordered the grilled pork and grilled vegetables to share as an entree, and we were pleased with the quality. We did notice that all of the other tables received a basket of the flatbread and regular bread, whereas we received only the Umbrian bread (no salt).....not sure if that was because we were English speaking tourists, rather than Italians. We would have also liked the option of another bread.

We ate here two out of three nights in Spello. Need I say more? Excellent food and wine, served well and in a friendly way. Reasonably priced. You must go here! You will not be disappointed.

You Have The Hotel But They Also Have A Restaurant Worth Of Note
We ate here last year and made sure to reserve a table so that we could eat on the Terrace which has the most stunning views. We all ate from the Umbrian tasting menu, which was 5 courses at a very good value of 30 euros, we also had the wine flight which was 3 glasses for 15 euros, all great value. Our dishes included baked egg with truffle, ham and mozzarella, tagliatelle, with wild boar Ragu, pork in a stunning sauce and chocolate dessert, with water and coffee included. It was busy but we had great service, superb value for high class food

We were recommended to visit this restaurant by our Hotel, Le Silve at Armenzano. My wife and I visited on a Sunday, for lunch, and were both very impressed by the atmospheric cellar setting, the quiet, classy ambience, the attentive, friendly service and, above all, the superb cuisine. (The house red was pretty good, to cap it all). This is proper Italian fare, at its best, served in generous portions and dished up in easy stages; no pressure, no hassle, just good food, following good food, course after course.
We both really liked this place and there's a restaurant or two (in Spello) that could learn from this splendid example of how to do it right. Oh, and the price for 3 courses (each), a 1 Litre carafe of house red, a coffee and a tea was 60 Euros (only).
Verdict? Marvellous! Beat a path to the door, as soon as you can; you will not be disappointed. We visit this region every year, and this was our first time here; we will definitely be back!.
