South Molton is a small town in Devon, England. It is part of the North Devon local government district. The town is on the River Mole. According to the 2001 census the civil parish of South Molton had a population of 4,093, increasing to 5,108 at the 2011 Census. The town also has an electoral ward with the same name. The population of this ward at the same census was 4,875 We have therefore the unusual situation where the town is larger than the ward. We stayed in South Molton for a sad occasion of a funeral but was cheered up by the wonderful welcome we were given by the Staff at this delightful café. The food was superb and plentiful, the bottomless coffee was very much appreciated and the cakes WOW - Amazing.

The poltimore is a real gem and one off. I've been visiting here ever since I was a child and the place hasn't changed a bit. Great food and beers on tap and a lovely old pub dating back hundreds of years. A HUGE fireplace is in the bar area and regular impromptu music nights are common. Unmissable of in the area.

We haven't been here for ages, but friends asked us to book, so glad we did. Forgot what a great place this is. Loads of delicious food and always plenty of tasty vegetable dishes to accompany your main course, Make sure you are really hungry as there is so much food. Fabulous starters, great mains and delicious Deserts, which if they have any left they offer you a second!! Warm welcome when you arrive drinks and canapés in the lounge. Definitely recommend and will return soon I hope!

Went with daughter and family. Thank heavens told us that we wouldn’t be having starters. The table groaned with delicious food all superbly cooked and piping hot. Everyone was very friendly and Jess, our waitress, delightful. Saw very few staff but the arrival of the food was timely. Highly recommended.

We visited the Masons Arms for dinner and we felt that the whole evening was a fantastic experience. It was lovely to be welcomed into the warm pub and have nibbles and amuse bouches in front of the roaring fire.
The food was very good. The tuna starter was the stand out dish of the night for me-
amazing flavours and textures. My partner really enjoyed the arancini. The halibut main was beautifully cooked but I did find the dish as a whole slightly underwhelming compared to the other courses.
Service was excellent. The waitresses were friendly, relaxed and attentive. They were happy to offer recommendations and had a great knowledge of the menu.
I think we would definitely recommend the Masons Arms to our friends and would be keen to come back and try a few more things from their menu!

Since 2003 Deborah & Robert have been offering their guests "A Real Taste of Devon" with their range of local real ales & ciders to the menu of locally sourced Grove-made food prepared from scratch in their kitchen. Come & visit us for either a quite drink with friends & locals or for a casual meal or for that special occasion! For many years now The Grove has been listed in the CAMRA Good Pub Guide, Good Food Guide, Good Pub Guide, Alistair Sawdays & the AA Pub Guide.
There's little to add to the general tenor of most comments. Pleasant welcome though pub itself could have been slightly warmer. A reasonable offering of dishes for lunch, though as we were all vegetarians, basically two options. We had both between us all (brie Wellington and curry) and they were nicely presented with good flavours, though at the risk if nitpicking, the curry dishes could have had a touch more rice. All washed down with one of the 2/3 real ales, one offering CAMRA members the 10% discount. All in all, good value, and a pleasant experience.

We stopped for lunch on a Monday lunchtime and we were both very impressed. The welcome was warm and very friendly, service was excellent and the food was first class. We were looking to rent a property locally and the kind ladies working there were so helpful as well, thank you so very much.

Possibly slightly off the main routes to North Devon but this country pub offers a wide range of food and beers. They generally have a set menu and a specials board. This was our second visit having previously tried the Sunday roast we eat off the daily menu and specials board on this visit. On both occasions the food was of very good quality, well cooked, tasty and plenty of it. Needless to say and reasonably priced.
It can get popular so we booked on both occasions.

Went here for a meal with friends. I have had a takeaway before and that wasn't great but thought we would try it again sitting in the restaurant
The menu is way over priced and deceiving on prices between 1 person and 2 for sharers. The food didn't have much flavour and came out barely warm. Our food arrived before our table was even laid up and wasn't anything special. There are signs all around the restaurant stating no refunds and food may not be to everyone's flavour and not to compare to other Chinese restaurants. Also service charge was added which again the service was not anywhere near any standard.would not return again!

We are a privately owned, family business. We provide a range of snacks and meals to suit most tastes. We are not perfect, but try our best at all times to provide freshly cooked food (where possible). Although we value all comments, if you have any problems then please do not hesitate to discuss them with us, negative comments not only affect our business, but more importantly the people within it, who are doing their best to provide you with a high quality value for money meal, so please be mindful of this when posting. We are not averse to constructive criticism, but some comments made can be destructive and unless you are able to back them up when requested they have no place here.
Popped in and sat down to have fish and chip. Good wide variety on the menu for a fish and chip shop.
