This place is usually very busy. Staff is helpful to find a place. It is an old Railway Station in Baarn. Dutch Royal family used this staion when tehy used the train. There was a seperate royal waiting room. Now we had a lunch. Good card...MoreThanks for your review, we hope to see you again. De Generaal

Eetvilla van den Brink is a nice restaurant for lunch, dinner, meeting or wedding. Our restaurant is located in Soest adjacent nature reserve Soesterduinen. From the a28 Amersfoort and Utrecht you have come in 5 minutes. We have our own parking. Daniel van de Kant and Eric Brons as manger in the kitchen has been chosen for an accessible but culinary formula. Especially for the foodie who does not want big portions but prefer to taste and enjoy different flavors and combinations. The modified concept: accessible, surprising, innovative and internationally. Eetvilla van den Brink is an affordable, culinary meeting place for drinks, lunch and dinner.
Have come to Eetvilla Van den Brink a couple of times. The restaurant breaths a nice atmosphere, service is always friendly and the food is typically good both in taste and presentation. Why 3 then? Me personally I do not always find dishes of my liking on the menu: I don't know why but this has now struck me a couple of times. Anyway, this is probably very personal....

Pancake restaurants are a dime a dozen in the Netherlands, especially is the more touristic areas around Soest. De Smickel sets itself apart, not particularly due to the food (more about that later), but by the ambiance and location. The restaurant is set in an old farm house and is richly decorated in the theme inside. Everything breathes farmhouse. Even the floors are covered in sand. Indoors there are two floors with a specific children's playing area. Outside at the back there is a huge garden with bouncy castle, plenty of animals and lots of other toys for the kids. Tables are set well apart. In nice weather it is a great place to be with kids. The pancakes are good too although better ones can be had in the region (try Gloeiende Gerrit in Amersfoort/Hoogland). But the combination of ambiance and good food makes De Smickel a real winner.

We went here for a X-mas brunch in december 2013. The brunch buffet was okay but not more than average. We expected more for this price, almost 30 euro's per person. At a X-mas brunch the orange juice and at least the coffee/tea should be included which they were not.
Must say, the scrambled eggs with salmon was absolutely delicious!
There was a good piece of ham on the bone, thin sliced by a cook, but when people went back for a second round, there was no one there anymore to cut off some slices..
Friendly staff.

This restaurant is close to where we are staying. We stopped by, the kids had the burgers with fries, my wife had the fish, and I had the steak. Fries were good, and burgers were good. The steak was properly seasoned and cooked, and tender. Worth visiting if you are in Soest.

Recommended to visit during a business trip and have to say an excellent bit of advice it was. It was fairly busy with families, couples and groups already eating when we arrived but table was booked and we received our drinks straight away. I have to say the service was top notch from staff who were always smiling. Food was excellent and very good value for money. Really quirky place but a lovely experience and would recommend.

Had lunch here and thoroughly enjoyed it so decided to book for our wedding anniversary and we didn't regret it. We were given a lovely table and complimentary cava on arrival. We chose the set four course meal with the suggested wine package. The food was absolutely lovely. Particularly the lamb course. We weren't rushed at all. Finished off with a fine port. Will definitely return next Sept!!

This restaurant served a wonderful rijsttafel or "rice table", a Dutch Indonesian ensemble of multiple dishes served with rice. About a dozen meat, chicken, vegetable and tofu dishes with an assortment of "hot" spicy, slightly sweet and other sauces and condiments are served to accompany the rice in a family style setting. Although this was my first rijsttafel and i enjoyed it immensely, my Dutch friends assured us it was the best such food in the area. It was a relaxed leisurely dining experience enjoying the many but always complementary tastes. Service was excellent. I would compare the wonderful flavors to a blend of Thai, Indian and Vietnamese.

We had an excellent 7-course dinner at De Saffraan. The food is great and all kinds of tastes will pass by. The service is excellent, really, my compliments to the staff.
Matching wines on top of your dinner is to be advised.
Atmosphere is nice, on an old sailing boat in the Eem-harbour.
