Sleaford (historically known as New Sleaford) is a market town and civil parish in Lincolnshire, England. Since 1973, the parish boundaries have included Quarrington to the south-west, Holdingham to the north and Old Sleaford to the east – contiguous settlements and former civil parishes which, with New Sleaford, had formed an Urban District. Really enjoyed lunch at the Bustard today. Very nice refurbished Victorian pub with food to gastropub standards and beats many a restaurant we have been to.
Good selection of beers on tap in this lovely South Lincolnshire village. The service is very professional and everything is served correctly and in a timely manner.
The sausages and mash are good value at £9.95. It is possible to rack up a larger bill if you are not careful so worth choosing according to your budget. There are some good deals for early birds and on Sunday.
The only thing I would say on the negative side is that it can feel a slightly quiet dining atmosphere. With the good reviews, food of this quality and a lack of better alternatives in the area you would think everyone would be there but that’s not yet the case. I’ve never seen it packed full yet.
Even with that said it’s not a reason to avoid the Bustard. At least we can always get a table to enjoy the tasty food again!

We had a week off work for holiday and decided to give this place a try. We travelled from Boston. We had always driven past it, however after hearing about their great reviews and numerous local awards we eventually gave it a try.... Why did we wait so long!!?
Finally....an establishment that actually takes pride in our wonderful Lincolnshire produce, from the choice of starters at the beginning of the meal to the fabulous cheese board at the end.
We both started with the broccoli and blue Stilton soup which was perfect to warm us up.... Even though the establishment was lovely and cosy due to a lovely Wood burner. I then had the sirloin steak and my partner had the steak and kidney suet pudding, all served with lovely vegetables. I then finished with the Lincolnshire plum loaf bread and butter pudding, served with custard and my partner had the dark chocolate torte and white chocolate creme brulee with a shortbread biscuit... Delicious!!! We then finished with a lovely coffee by the fire place.
Yes, it is expensive compared to other establishments. However, the good was extremely good quality, the service lovely and you walked out knowing you had just had a wonderful experience.
There was also a wonderful atmosphere too.
One thing I would say is please don't be put off by what you see of the establishment just driving past the rear of it... It truly hides a hidden little gem!!
My favourite place to eat in Lincolnshire by a mile!!!

Cafe bar and brasserie
Friendly staff and a smart interior with attractive décor, furnishings and dining snugs. Although the veggie burger was displaying milk in the allergen information, we were assured by the chef that it was dairy free and therefore suitable for people wishing to avoid animal ingredients. Omitting the roll and feta relish (substituted with button mushrooms) the meal arrived nicely presented with chips, beer battered onion rings and mixed salad with balsamic dressing on the side. The chickpea, coriander and carrot burger was a bit crumbly but had good flavour and complimented the other elements of the meal.

Walk-in on Thursday evening, ground floor dining room was fully occupied but happy the first floor was empty so was able to be accommodated. Swiftly served by friendly and professional staff. Warm spicy salad starters was great, followed by tasty and flavoursome Thai curry.
Pleasant surroundings, staff and pricing (substantial starter, main, accompanying rice and Thai beer for £20).

Been twice around Christmas and thought the food was superb. Very good service and really nice food. The house specials are great as it's nice to go to an Indian that doesn't just do the usual stuff. Bring your own booze just made it cheaper and nicer to have a choice of what you want to drink, great value for money. Will definitely be back.

Food has moved to a new level, little touches from the new chef really noticeable and the whole service was professional and slick as you’d like.
Plenty of GF options for pudding which makes a change and look forward to trying different meals that have been revamped. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Stopped by chance after a long day, looking for sustinence. Great welcome. Choices of where to eat and drink. Good selection of food which was well cooked and presented. Thought a little pricey compared to my part of the world but worth paying for good food in nice clean surrounds. Staff helpful and friendly. Good car parking.
Well worth returning to when in this area.

Renovated grade 2 listed windmill in the heart of Sleaford. Serving modern seasonal dishes. Almost all dishes made on the premises by us from raw ingredients. No deep fat fryer, no microwave
Well once again this cafe/restaurant came up trumps. The Mother's Day lunch was well attended and the food was excellent. The portions are great and you don't feel over full just well satisfied. The choice of menu was varied and covered all tastes with gluten free food on offer. The Italian night was once again well attended and it's always wise to book ahead. The food was very good and lots of wonderful tastes.
This is a very well run establishment and now we are so looking forward to the Mediterranean night. A great couple run this restaurant and never fail to give 100%.

The Greek taverna really is an absolute gem in Sleaford. The food is freshly cooked and my vegan requests along with my gluten free friend were never too much trouble and catered for beautifully. Nick and Amanda are quality hosts, if a little mad! Can’t say enough great things about the place- go try it for yourself!
