Sigtuna is a picturesque lakeside town steeped in Swedish history. Founded in the late 10th century, it’s the oldest town in Sweden and still retains much of its medieval charm. During the Christmas season it becomes an even more magical place, as holiday markets pop up all over the city, selling local handicrafts and fragrant goodies. Paddle along Lake Mälaren, marvel at church ruins and runic stones or just explore the shops of the charming main street.

This is an outstanding place for dinner.. It is part of a small hotel, also wonderful, in a wooden building at the end of the village overlooking the lake. The decor of the dining rooms is simple, elegant and understated. The food had all fresh ingredients and was superbly prepared. The service was equally superb. Truly a great place.

We had the chef choose, and are so glad we did, a white asparagas apetizer, Smoked salmon topped turbot over vegies was truly extraordinary! Treat yourself here.

Freshly innovative, goood buffets, very well placed meals, I must really say I did not expect much (sweden is not known for great food and conference hotel are normally below standard) but this was really excellent.
The breakfast buffet is not too generous but with some nice choices including freshly squeezed ornage juice, the morning and afternoon coffee both include not only cakes and fruit but also some nice bites and the nordisk tapas on the lunch buffet are really excellent.
If you look at my other reviews I feel myself to be qualified to say that this is not that far from a one star micheline cuisine. So if your employer invites you there, expect to gain some kilos.

I really like this place. The hotel is very nicely renovated. The surroundings are nice. The food is really good. However, what sets this place apart is the staff. They are interested in serving you as a customer. They are attentive and friendly.

Restaurant & Bar
Right in the middle of charming Sigtuna, this restaurant has everything you need for a wonderful dinner. A cozy atmosphere, a really friendly staff, and some great stuff. My wife's burger was fantastic. My oxfile was probably slightly overpriced, but it was also delicious. We really had a great time here!

We were lucky enough to have a table by the window from which to enjoy the view of Lake Mälaren. I appreciated the menu which was not too long but offered sufficient choice. The beef was delicious and perfectly cooked. Nice but not extensive choice of wines. The service was acceptable but perhaps a bit lax - I wish I could give a specific example of this, but all of us noticed it. It wasn't warm enough to sit outside but I can see that would be a lovely place to have a drink before dinner.

We passed by and we were planning to have an ice cream in another place but met some friends just turning the corner from Storgatan and we all ended up having Fula at Tant Brun.
The pastries and the coffee tasted good but rather overpriced.
Anyhow we did enjoy it.

Profiling themselves as having Organic coffe(staff also stating) but when asked are not able to confirm how and when except that the coffee is made in Sweden and supporting Rainforest Alliance which is a manufacturer labeling and not approved Organic/Eco. Smallest ever Latte Macchiato.

I use this hotel when I have colleagues from abroad and have always been satisfied by their helpfulness and professional attitude. I’ve also had dinner on several occasions in the hotel and the food is surprisingly good and above average. The hotel is used a lot for conferences but during weekend it tents to be a bit more tourist like if that is what you prefer.
