My husband and I were driving from Barcelona to Tortosa in July and happened upon this marvelous little restaurant overlooking the sea. At the owner's recommendation we had a huge and succulent lobster, accompanied by a delicious chilled white wine, that became the best meal of our trip. We sat on the porch and enjoyed perfect service in a convivial atmosphere on the perfect July day. This is the sort of memory that makes travel so extraordinary. I highly recommend that anyone on this highway stop and find this remarkable spot!

Vell Papiol is a very nice fish restaurant just behind the seaside Promenade in town. The staff made every effort to communicate, but it was tougher here than else where. The restaurant is very sophisticated for this area, and well designed. It is very popular with locals. The highlights were a delicious mussel dish and a fantastic monk fish .

Found this place on TripAdvisor. Ended up getting cheese sticks (which were just frozen and fried), and the nachos (which you could easily make at home). Then got a Hollywood burger. The burger was darn good. I'd avoid everything else and just get the burger. Good fries, although they could be crispier.

That's the motto on the back of staff t-shirts at this happy, hearty beach side restaurant near the seaside town of Cunit railroad station, south of Barcelona. If the weather is nice, bring you bathing suit and eat a the Chinguito (outdoor pavilion) on the sand. The main restaurant across the street is modern, tasteful, spotless -- with a view of the beach. It is all about rice here, with a menu of all the typical Catalan paellas etc, plus lots of other specialities. Too many to name but try the caramelized oranges in sauce topped with whipped cream for desert. (Very original and good!).Lunch is the main attraction here, because of the view, so best to reserve a table. DInner is probably lovely too. The priced fixed lunch menu is very reasonable (about $12 when we were there), but delving into the more original dishes and wine will run about $30 a person. Still pretty reasonable considering the amount and quality of what you get. And remember, the Spanish don't tip more than a few euros, so no need to add big American style tips to the bill. Easiest access it the commuter train ( Rodalies) route #2 to San Vicen (from Sants station and other Barcelona stops. Schedule is online). Once you get off at Clunit (about 50 minutes travel) walk towards the beach and turn right on the road along the sand. L'Arrosserie is about ten minutes away.

We went for lunch today and were really impressed! The portions were much more generous compared to other places along the front and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The kids played on the beach the other side of the walkway while we sat and enjoyed our lunch. Kids menu available as well which they loved. Will be coming back!

In a unique location on the shores of the Mediterranean sea on the beach of Sant Salvador (El Vendrell, Tarragona), where you can enjoy a friendly, familiar and unique. In the Casinet you appreciate good food with a unique and friendly service. Along with the sea breeze and the rustling of the waves ... Located on the waterfront of San Salvador, it has become a place of reference where you can taste paella and rice among others, for many families and friends.
We had an excellent mussels japanesse style followed by paella and shared dessert.
We found paella delicious, even better than the one I prepare at home !!
Prices are correct given the quality.
Only negative point is that they serve San Pellegrino sparkling water. Does it make any ecological sense to transport just water from Italy when we have so many good sparkling watters so close in Catalonia ?

The quality of the seafood at la masia de la platja is wonderful and with typical catalonian preparation and rustic surroundings make this a wonderful experience for the pallet, but a painful one for the wallet.
They source their daily fish from vilanova, a large port town a few km up coast and offer multiple local preparations. We went for a large dorada (beam) a la sal. The herbed salt forms a crust and infuses the flesh with a mild flavour that does not detract from the natural flavours of the sea.
In winter I would recommend any number of the meat dishes.
In addition they serve a fantastic xato, a catalan almond based dip used as a salad dressing.
Like few other restaurants in the baix penedes coast, masia de la platja has whethered the test of time well and continues to stand for high quality in both cuisine and service unfortunately at sitges prices

Used to be one of THE places to eat and be seen in in Segur .
Had a lunch there and the simplest of dishes, roast chicken was as dry as a biscuit.
The waiter proffered no help in the Catalan written menu at all.
It was clear we were struggling and when we asked in Castilian what Puerro was, he replied in Catalan it's a Puerro! Cocky Pratt I thought.
Had its day, a handful of affluent pensioners keeping it going…

This offer menu on weekdays and 11€ with drinks and desserts included. Public holidays and weekends at noon offer Free Buffet Cold -Hot dishes, grilled meats and Homemade Desserts 16€. Drinks not included.
The meals basically consist of a lump of meat and maybe some vegetables, an undressed salad and very basic puddings. The waitress was amazing and saved it from a 1 star review. She did really well with gluten free but they had no idea what to do for vegetarians.
