Family-owned, Michelin-rated - very special restaurant a bit outside the city - but definitely worth the taxi trip. The location looked beautiful - though we only got to see it at night under a blanket of snow. Would love to go back in warmer weather. There were two seasonal tasting menus on offer - each priced at ~100 Euros (not including wine, alcohol). Everything was delicious - we especially loved the soup medley. Service was very accommodating and attentive.

I had dinner at this restaurant but I was expecting a tipical Austrian dinner. Pleasant discovery, the location is in front of the Wallersee and the view from there is really pleasant. The atmosphere is elegant and the staff is competent. We had some tasteful dishes of fish (not steak and pommes!!!) -the quality of food was high....probably due to the fact that fish comes from the close lake! Also wines and desserts were tasty. I really recommend this place if you are in the nearby.

Fantastic cakes, home made ginger beers, juices and ice cream. Nice Terrace and very good coffees. Good for afternoon stop.

Top Chef Emanuel Weyringer at Wallersee-lake combines high-level professionalism with his own special creativity - finest italian cuisine combined with regional products and Asian fusion - amazing! The location is beautiful - outdoor-seating on the Terrace viewing the lake. Excellent wines, perfect and very friendly service headed by Emanuel's wife Susi.
We will always return.

I left Austria in 1968 and had frequent visits to my home town Neumarkt am Wallersee.
Gasthaus Kienberg has been re-modelled and refurbished and looks absolutely fantastic. I was lucky to visit on 3 occasions during my short stay in May/June 2014. The meals were fantastic from your normal Austrian fare to the Beuschl with Knoedel etc. The Beer was not expensive and the Wine selection was excellent. The Views, the Sunsets, the people: Fantastic. 10 out of 10.
Thanks Martin and Gerlinde. Close to Salzburg and beautiful countrysides.

A week golfing in Salzburg region we stay in this small hotel. Their restaurant deserves a special evaluation.
Restaurant is not big; especially the outside space is very nice. Wooden tables with comfortable benches are situated in a very nice garden with patulous chestnut trees, summerhouse covered by ivy. Joung and helpful staff wear usually traditional costume, they are very popular. It is nice and charming. Owners of this nice hotel come to greet their guests daily. Restaurant was full every afternoon and evening, majority of guests were groups of locals, joung, older, families. It is usually good sign of quality. Kids can use spacious part of garden with climbing frames. Hotel with his restaurant is situated outside of the town, close to the championship golf course Salzburg – Eugendorf.
My husband and I were guests of hotel with half board pension. We and other hotel guests had every day a tables prepared for menu diner. Every evening we had a private menu card prepared for us on the table. I am vegetarian and it was no problem for the staff to prepare vegetarian dishes for me separately, even I was the only one. Menu usually consisted from 6 to 8 courses. All together it looked as a menu degustational in some great restaurant. Use of regional and seasonal products was self – evident. Everything was very tasty and nice presented. The only two slightly negative comments: portions were too big and cook like salt more than me (maybe he got a new sort of salt and was not familiar with it?)
It is great place with excellent food. They were in the Michelin restaurant guide at 2009 according to the sticker on the door. I think the Michelin evaluators should return back and renew their recommendation.

We both started with a lovely bowl of Pumpkin soup topped with roasted pumpkin seeds.
My partner had the roasted corn-fed chicken breast on a bed of wild mushrooms, herbed tagliatelle in a cream sauce. I opted for the prawn spaghetti arrabiatta which wasn't spicy but had plenty of flavour albeit slightly oily.
We had a lovely bottle of Austrian red wine, €25. Followed by an Italian version of Jaegermeister called Fernet Branca. Unfortunately this wasn't to our taste, it was like a minty mouthwash. The waitress repeatedly topped up our jug of water which was helpful. Total bill including an extra round of drinks came to €69. I had to get this restaurant listed on Tripadvisor as they didn't have it showing.

Huge pizzas, really well cooked, and good service. Not that easy to find (it is on the 2nd floor of a small retail area), but worth finding!

A 3rd generation local hotel in near Salzburg. The staff were friendly and nice. The interior and architecture of hotel was superb. You could see how traditional it is. Delicious breakfasts. The location is good with a few amazing local restaurants around. They could improve their gym a lot more and also having an air conditioner could be very nice in the summers. Overall, it was really good.

I came here a couple of times already. This time I ordered the chicken escalope with tomato and cheese on top and grilled Mediterranean vegetables on the side. The meat was tender and the vegetables still crunchy – just perfect. We also had the house red wine (Merlot) which tasted delicious.
