Simply gorgeous pizza and we've eaten in and taken out. Watching the pizza guys prepare the pizzas is quite something. Professional is not the word. It's like poetry in motion. The boss runs a tight ship and service is impeccable! Try the salmon pizza. It's probably the best I've ever had!

On our way to our final destination for a short stay in the Alsace, we had lunch at this restaurant, which was a very pleasant experience.
We opted for the lunch offer with three courses, including an amuse and mignardises. The food was delicious, starting with a velouté and poached egg, a veal liver main followed by a lovely tartlet. We combined this with a excellent Viré Clessé and for our red wine fundies a great Mercurey. Service was quick and friendly.
All in all a great lunch for a very decent price level in a restaurant of such a high standard.

Traditional Alsatian restaurant with Terrace on the canal from the Marne. Romantic and full of woodwork, La Marne offers meats, pizzas and pies outbreaks, salads ..
The place was packed when I went for lunch, and I almost didn't get seated. Fortunately, the bartender spotted an empty spot and I got seated. There were decent looking lunch options, but I was in the mood for pizza/tarte flambé/flamkuchen. Service was decent, the side salad was fine, and the taste flambé was quite good. I went with the "speciale," and I can recommend it. My only minor complaint is that they appear to have a lot of beer, but when I ordered mine there was no discussion or question and they brought me a pedestrian pils. Still, this place has a great vibe and is serving solid, fresh food. Prices are also fair.

What a charming restaurant! The food was really very good with the salade gourmand probably one of the best I have had for a long time. Very generous helping of foie gras, gesier and magret and all very reasonably priced. Service was attentive and helpful. The desserts were all beautifully served and very tasty. Excellent fine dining restaurant and well worth the detour.

We entered this restaurant in a rainy evening and the surprise was... amazing! The food is incredibly good, the owners really friendly and the prices very correct. Since this first experience we go there whenever we are in the area. The menu changes from time to time and I bet you will never be disappointed!

We went to this restaurant because the one we wanted to go to was closed.
We were pleasantly surprised; The food was excellent , price reasonable for the quality and the quantity .
However, this is an old Alsatian house and we felt that it was too bad that they did not keep the atmosphere of such by transforming the decor into something modern with no caracter .
But a positive experience ; service was very nice too .

Instead of stopping on the motorway whikst travelling from Austria to Reims, we decided to stop in Saverne. What a great decision. This is a very picturesque town although it seemed deserted when we visited on Saturday lunchtme. We were attracted by the outside of this restaurant, and the interior and food more than supported our decision.
Petites Farcies was a selection of vegetables stuffed with beef - and, as the waitress had assured us, 'not heavy'. Pot au feu salad was hot diced beef, carrots and potatoes with a sauce on top of mixed salad leaves. The restaurant was decorated with antique children's clothing - beautiful little cotton dresses with lace trim and boys waistcoats an trousers. Tables were dressed with tartan cloths to match the curtains. All very pretty and the place was full of locals enjoying a meal out.

Surprise que ce restaurant ne soit pas référencé ! Il existe sur d'autres sites (Internaute, petit futé, nomao etc...)
An attractive restaurant in the heart of Saverne’s High Street, it has some outside Seating on a decking area at the front and is covered in hanging baskets of flowers. Inside it’s a good size covering two floors and has a cosy ambience with wooden beams on the ceiling and a cuckoo clock on the wall.
The menu offers a good selection of dishes, although there is no English version available. Staff were friendly and helpful though. A starter of Quiche Cremeuse Munster was very tasty and a generous portion, we found that it was enough for two to share. A main course of Poulet Fermier Alsace was essentially roast chicken, and although very good, the smokiness not really evident. It too was a very generous portion and came with mounds of very tasty roast potatoes and some greens beans wrapped in pancetta. It made a nice change to have some proper food rather than the mass produced tourist stuff served up at so many places.
Some of the refrigerated Deserts were displayed in a cabinet but we ordered from the menu and went for a Couer Coulant Chocolat which whilst again a generous portion seemed to be pretty much a Chocolate Fondant which was not what I had anticipated. Another dish of profiteroles was very well received.
All in all we thought this was a very nice restaurant serving generous portions of decent food. A bill of €83.20 seemed reasonable for a three course meal for two people (albeit with a shared start), a couple of coffee’s and a bottle of wine.

Spent the last two weeks in France cruising a canal and touring Champagne. This was the best place I ate the entire time. Great food, great service, wonderful presentation, good wine and desserts. The aroma coming from this place first caught our attention. It's a small cozy cellar right off the canal. We tried to get in first on a Saturday night, but the place was packed. We made Reservations for later in the week and arranged our trip back thru the canals to be sure we could eat here. Was as good as we had hoped.
