Specializing in an Italian cuisine with Mediterranean and American touches, Ristorante Vino Bello is set in a restored foreman's adobe building in the heart of the Colchagua wine valley. Surrounded by the beautiful Laura Hartwig vineyards and the snow-capped Andes in the distance, Ristorante Vino Bello was originally the first Italian restaurant in the Santa Cruz area and after over five years, continues to serve exquisite plates, from homemade pastas to artisanal pizzas to specialty meat. So come enjoy a glass of wine from our extensive wine list and indulge in our delicious homemade tiramisu!
We found our dinner very pleasant, with a nice view of the vineyards. Similar to Casa Colchagua, we found the food good but not great and with a rather limited wine selection by the glass. Meals in Santa Cruz definitely seem to be better during lunch at the vineyards (Clos Apalta, Casa Silva, Montes), but the food here was good and the environment was romantic and relaxing.

it was great discovery during the tour to Colchagua valley and short visit to Santa Cruz town. Restaurant offers buffet lunch, which is diverse and with wide variety to choose from. Salad bar, grill station and also enpanadas and sure thing nice stand of desserts. sure thing, you need to ask a wine, while you are withing the valley of vineyards.

We had lunch there after touring the winery. The view from the patio is beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is very good. It got very busy after we were seated, so time your arrival. Most people seemed to come (for lunch) close to 1400 hrs. Service can be leisurely, so don't be in a hurry. We recommend it highly.

We took the 10:30 AM tour which takes you around the vineyard in a horse drawn carriage. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Once indoors, we tasted wine directly from the steel vats as part of the tour. The tasting that follows was quite informative. Following out tour, we stayed for lunch. The food was delicious with excellent service.

We sat on an outside Terrace for dinner. The staff were very attentive and the food was well cooked and presented. The restaurant was a couple of miles from where we were staying but the restaurant collected and returned us to our hotel, free of charge.

Here right now (Nov. 2013) and just had a huge sandwich--more than big enough for two people. I had the marinated chicken. Comfortable Seating, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi. A good spot to relax and catch up on the Internet during your travels to Santa Cruz.
I'd recommend sharing as the sandwiches are not cheap, but huge.

Prape's is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Colchagua Valley. Everything I have got from the menu has been delicious! It is a hidden gem in Colchagua. The prices are very reasonable, actually I would rather say cheap in relation to the high quality food it is offered. The service is very good and the staff very friendly. The owners are there most of times always taking care of the customers. The setting is really nice and cozy, in summertime you can eat at the Terrace which is lovely! Im a big fan of Japanese food and I can say that after eating in many sushi places Prape's is definitely my favorite one,
Totally recommended! Closed on Sundays and open late at night on fridays and saturdays. No parking area so you can walk from the main square (Plaza de armas) around two blocks right next to the Casino Colchagua.

Husband and I stumbled upon this place and managed to get the last table for lunch one day, and were happy we did!
The daily menu offers a variety of mains, but each person receives bread, salad, main and dessert for around $7500 CLP (or approx $15).
Not only was the food amazing, authentic and prepared as though you'd made it at home yourself, but the portion was so large and filling that we did not need to eat for the remainder of the day. The staff, although they spoke little English, were amazingly patient and helpful with our broken Spanish.
They were even able to accommodate my food allergy.
Well worth the drive!!
