You will find a large menu with many good choices. The weather was perfect for eating outside. The desserts were beautiful. I'd come back here in a heartbeat.

The restaurant has Seating in the court yard which is very picturesque. The menu is displayed on a black board and consists of various set menus. House wine is inexpensive and very drinkable. Service is quick, cheerful and efficient. Wait staff usually understand and speak English which is a great help. The Basque influence is strong in the menu and is worth trying. Our meal was 16 euro and I though good value.

Very pleasant restaurant offering a wide range of Basque food. Good sized portions and a variety of local dishes, salads etc. Something for everyone. Excellent Gateau Basque. Very good service by friendly staff who spoke some English for those who do not speak French. About a dozen tables set outside on the pavement as well as dining room inside.

With our limited French language abilities, we were concerned about ordering. The gentlemen working were both very helpful and friendly. We had a delicious meal in this beautiful restaurant. The soup was perfect for a cool and rainy afternoon. We had a great meal.

Has until now been reviewed as part of the hotel with same name, but should be treated seperately since it is a 2 star Michelin.
This is a wonderful, traditional Michelin one-star restaurant. The food is outstanding and beautifully presented. Every dish of our preset lunch menu was a work of art. We received an excellent service from an English speaking waiter. It was an overall five-star experience. We stayed in the area for two weeks and really should have returned for more!!
The village of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port "comes" with the restaurant, so arrive early or stay for a walk through it. The village is on the way to the Christian pilgrimage site in Santiago de Compostela. Look out for scallop shell – the way of St. James. The entire area is gorgeous once you get out of town & into area in the Pyrenees a bit.

We ate here while travelling through the Basque Pyrenees. I had seen some reviews online, and the restaurant lived up to them. Very inventive cooking (e.g., our starter was a sushi roll made with locally produced ham and cheese), excellent products and preparations, and great value for the quality of food.
The restaurant is on a cobblestone street leading up to the Citadel above St. Jean Pied-de-Port, and the town and restaurant location make a meal here even more charming.

We stopped off as a family. Lovely location and very traditional. Kids had sugar crepes and we had the galette type crepes. Very tasty and very filling. Downside is that the service, from I presume the husband & wife team is not very personable. There was no smiles and at times we were made to feel as though the whole thing was a slight annoyance. Shame as a lovely place.

This little cafe is located just outside the town walls, so it has been overlooked by tourists. We wanted a quick meal for dinner, not a three course menu, especially after a long day hiking.
They offer beef, veal, and chicken burgers for $5.50, green salads for $2.5, pita pockets, quiche, tartes, croques, and a variety of desserts, all can be takeaway (same price).
The beef burgers have thick homemade patties with good quality meat, very little fat. It comes topped with cheese, tomato, salad, and choice of sauce (BBQ, ketchup, etc). After travelling for 3 weeks and having rich food, this simple burger was fantastic. Small note, the burgers are cooked medium rare, so ask for "plus cuite" if you are used to it done medium well.
The green salad is an individual size, lightly dressed with balsamic, NOT oily . Again, when you are craving a healthier option, this salad will satisfy you. The kebab pita pocket was nice, but not as good as the burger.
we went back the next night - got takeaway, and enjoyed our dinner on the patio of our b&b, sans crowds and surly restaurant service. All up- dinner for two for under 20 euro, plus you can byob.
They are open 11-2100 I think most days. just down the road from Maison Ziberoa.
