This was our best dinner in the French Caribbean — including St. Bart’s (though several came very close). Service is knowledgeable and prompt, and every course was great, with good portions. Reasonable English spoken. Meat, fish, shellfish, desserts, wine — all are there and all are excellent. The menu is more diverse than is typical for the area. Book ahead. 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 desserts plus a bottle of wine was €125. Parking can be an issue: best to park in the large lot by the harbour and walk the 2-3 blocks.

We came upon this restaurant whilst walking around Saint Francois. It was fully booked that evening and the following one but we secured a table for dinner two days ahead. So advance booking recommended!
Le Zagaya is situated right on the waterfront so that you feel you are virtually on it, particularly if you succeed in getting a table right at the front. The restaurant is fairly small and there is plenty of space between the tables so you don't feel packed in. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere inside the restaurant is very relaxing. Most dishes have a Creole twist to them and the seafood is fresh and highly recommended, particularly the blanquette de la mer with coconut milk and linguine which is delicious! There is a good choice of desserts and I particularly enjoyed the house creme brûlée. The banana flambé gateau also looked good.
To sum up: Great ambience and good quality food at moderate prices.

A lovely restaurant right on the water. The construction was far superior to most Guadeloupe waterside restaurants and the service was the best we encountered. The Waitstaff really hustled, which we appreciated after experiencing extremely slow service at many local restaurants. The food was excellent. We cannot recommend Le Poivrier too highly.

This came as a recommendation from the hoteliers at le metises and it was right on target. My wife had the most delectable dorado topped with fois gras served with a bourdelaise that I did not think would mesh but it was sublime. Wine was nice a wonderful aligote. I had their fish and langoste special it was very good but my highlight was the amazing crème brulee

Lively and fun atmosphere, pleasant service, and they made an effort to acknowledge that our party of eight was celebrating a big birthday, by decorating the table for us. However, the food wasn't what we had hoped for, with a rather odd starter of an anonymous fish pate and some of the ubiquitous accras, which were undistinguished. The 'barbecued' lobster was sadly overcooked - indeed we felt that it had been cooked in advance and then reheated over the charcoal. In any event, it was dry and tasteless.
The very expensive birthday cake that had been ordered was also disappointing, although it arrived with some fanfare and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.
We had a nice evening, as the company was good, and the management had made an effort to make the evening special for us, and we were grateful for that. But as far as the food went, pretty dire, really - and far too pricey, even by Guadeloupe standards.
What a shame!

Au Widdy's is perhaps the only fine-dining establishment on the Marina. Small and popular, Reservations are essential. Serving local ingredients with a French flair. Portions are generous and the food quite good. Prices are a bit higher than other Marina establishments (perhaps 100 Euros for a dinner for two with wine). Some dishes were ambitious, but fell a bit short (a seafood ramen contained crayfish--ouassous--that were overcooked and lacked taste) but a mixed fish tartare was like eating tiny bits of sashimi. Service is outstanding. An open kitchen allows guests to see the magic Ruddy and his staff are cooking up. Recommended as a splurge.

Not worthy for the rating it has. A standard 3 star rating. Everything is average and not tasty. Service is good but food is average

Reservations required for this small, quaint restaurant across from the commercial marina. Serving freshly prepared italian meals seasoned to perfection by the caring owner, maybe the best italian food available this side of the Atlantic.
