We were aware that the community was going through a most tragic time with the loss of one of their fisherman. Yet the welcome was warm. My partner says he has never had a better burger and I have to say my fish was melt in the mouth. Delightful.

After their annual holiday closure Plockton Shores reopened for this season two days ago. Had another wonderful lunch there today. Imaginative food, well presented and very good value. BUT like we dud do reserve your table before going. Plockton looked lovely today and this restaurant made our day trip from Portree really memorable.

It would be easy to miss this restaurant while looking the other way over to the beautiful Summer Isles off the coast. It is interestingly decorated, warm and comfortable and the food is all very fresh and prepared to enhance the flavours. Some restaurants are able to ruin fresh seafood with heavy sauces but this is not the case here. Great local food and worth a journey to eat here.

Nanny's ia a small family run cafe situated on the shores of Loch Shieldaig. Food is freshly prepared to order with local produce being used as much as possible, including shell fish caught daily in Loch Torridon. Great coffee, tasty home bakes and a friendly service awaits you.
We stopped at this little cafe on our tour of the Highlands. I definitely can say that I had the best hot chocolate and scone I have ever tasted. The hot chocolate was rich and the scone was perfect and served with fresh jam and...MoreWe shut at the weekend for the season so this is possibly our final review for this year. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such kind words, we all very much appreciate it. Lynn

Our host recommended this restaurant and she couldn't have been more right about it. Gorgeous location in a walled garden, great local produce and very knowledgeable staff. We loved the mussels and the views. Very romantic place but also suitable for anyone who likes good food.

The Arch Inn was a good choice for dinner as we had traveled from Portree to Ullapool on our way to Stornoway and saw good reviews. The reviews weren't wrong as the food was good and the atmosphere was very nice. I ended up having steak while my wife had the homemade pasta, the steak was the better of the two choices, but we did enjoy both.
We ended up with a good view of the water as we sat right at the window. The service was also very good and welcoming. Overall would differently recommend the arch inn restaurant.

We were recommended Sutor Creek by our accommodation hosts. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the pizzas we ordered were really good. We couldn't finish them but were able to take them away for lunch the next day! The staff, especially the young man serving, were all very friendly. We'd highly recommend eating here.

RedPoppy Restaurant is an elegant restaurant situated on the main street in Strathpeffer. Featuring a varied evening menu with exciting dishes full of flavour, there is something for everyone. The evening menu changes regularly. RedPoppy Restaurant also offers a light lunch menu featuring the ever popular RedPoppy Club Sandwich as well as customer favourites chicken fillets with sweet & sour sauce and macaroni with garlic bread. RedPoppy Restaurant will seat between 50 and 60 guests and is a light, airy space with amazing paintings by local artist Nicola Macdonell.
Good food, big portions. Lovely staff.
Would have had 5 stars but our table top had been cut with a knive or similar leaving if scored , these scores had then turned black making it very unsightly and a germ collector. I used my napkin to cover the offending cuts. It should either be taken out of commission or have a table cloth over it or repaired completely. Apart from that, a good restaurant and good value.

Bridge Cottage Cafe is under new ownership and management. Completely refurbished, Ana and Manu offer delicious Galician baking as well as local favourites. Wherever possible, all food is organic and sourced locally. Special diets including vegans and gluten free can be catered for on request.
On holiday in Poolewe and discovered this small cafe with amazing cakes. A few tables with chairs inside but possible to sit outside too if warm and dry enough. Polite ladies. Creamy coffee and a variety of to die for cakes. Have many times can I come please?
