Tucked away in the idyllic setting of Altrincham’s Goose Green, The House has built its reputation on providing excellent food in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Having maintained its authentic charm over the years, this hidden gem has become a popular haunt amongst locals.Since the restaurant first opened its doors in 2005, The House has continued to grow as a venue. It launched ‘The House Wine Bar’ next door in 2007, which introduced live music and entertainment to the green and most recently in December 2011, The House celebrated the opening of its new premises at ‘No. 13’, which has been completely remodelled into a spacious new dining area and state of the art kitchen.
I was with friends and we had a great meal followed with live music in the bar next door. Great atmosphere and the staff were brilliant. One of the best New Years bash in a while. We bought access bands for the green rooms next door so we could hop between the two. Brilliant service, food and staff. Well done.

Now under new ownership and management.. Earle Restaurant is located in Hale, Cheshire. Nestled in one of Britain’s most affluent areas, Earle delivers a memorable dining experience with beautiful surroundings.
Nothing bad but nothing outstanding either.
Hale in general appears to presume it's in the West End with similar pretentious prices. To deal in this game you need to deliver a full package of great food, efficient service and a vibrant welcoming atmosphere.
Sadly Hale fails the test, Earle included.
The food was ok but not really memorable, the service was a bit arrogant and sarcastic and the atmosphere was dull.
Would I try the place again, probably not, same could be said for Hale in general I suppose.

On the edge of the old Manchester to Oxford Road stands The Romper, an old coaching inn welcoming patrons through our doors for over 400 years. With its charming, whitewashed, slate-tiled exterior and rampant lion roaring above the door, The Romper is a former coaching inn, tucked away on a old country lane, on the edge of Altrincham. The Romper is also just a stone’s throw from Manchester Airport, making it a perfect stopover, whether you’re exploring the local area or about to take to the skies. Offering easy access to Cheshire’s lovely villages and towns, including Hale, and Wilmslow, as well as some of the county’s prettiest countryside, Sat in the lovely beer garden on a sunny day, surrounded by leafy lanes, it’s hard to believe how close you are to one of Europe’s busiest airports. In winter, when the log fire crackles in the hearth, and pints of cask ale are being poured under the old-beamed ceilings, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in a rustic county pub
I am an early eater so 530pm Thursday was fairly quiet. Ordered Fish and Chips and a dessert at the counter and took seat in the lounge. The service was quick, presentation was good and the taste was lovely. Finished off with a salted caramel sundae excellent was stuffed as a pancake.

Lunch time meeting with two friends. The food, as usual, was good, but what a miserable waiter. We felt as though we shouldn't be there and were taking up valuable time. Will think twice before going back. Plenty of restaurants in Altrincham.

I love this place. We decided, last minute, to take the kids for pizza. We popped in around 5pm and as always were greeted warmly, as we hadn't booked. The service was efficient, warm and friendly. The kids loved their pizzas, my other half had the duck linguine special - an enormous helping. I had the mushroom ravioli. My only minor complaint was my portion was small compared to the duck, and I wasn't really full. That said, Sam (the owner) always chats to his customers making sure they are happy. It's a great place and I love visiting with friends and family.

We shared anther sumptuous pizza and it was a great meal, attentive service from Justyna and a lovely place to chat and relax. The staff have an genuine enthusiasm for their work and Justinya personified it in that she ensured we were well looked after without being intrusive. Restaurant was spotless as always. Well done to all.

As we got inside we could see it was really busy however Gareth the manager managed to arrange a table for us rather swiftly as he could see my partner had a walking stick and couldn't stand for long.
We had the giant scotch egg which was wonderful to share as a starter. We then had the roast lamb for 2 and Yorkshire puddings that were bigger than our heads. The roast potatoes were made with beef dripping and the lamb was cooked to perfection, it slid off the bone. The food was served on plates! Always a win. The gravy was delightful. Good selection of drinks available. Lovely staff. Definately recommend as a destination not just a cut through.

Beautiful portion size of side portions could be better you can’t share your rice but food is gorgeous.

I stay at this hotel some five times a year and agree that you are a captive audience for the restaurant. However my visit in December was disappointing.
We had a 6am flight and wanted an early night. I tried to ring the restaurant at lunchtime before leaving home to book an early table but no-one answered the phone. Whilst my husband was checking in I went to the restaurant and asked a new front of house for a table at 7. He said"8 o'clock" and thinking he hadn't understood me I repeated "7". He said they were full at 7. I said 8 was too late so he then said "7.45 " then "7.30" then "7.15". I settled for this but when we arrived at 7.10 there were many empty tables. As we were seated close to the entrance I saw throughout my meal that he turned away nearly everyone who turned up without a booking although there were always empty tables.
My meal was unremarkable. I had a Chicken Caesar which appeared to have five ingredients only.
Poor front of house and only average food will not maintain my custom
