Whether it is over a delicious breakfast buffet or sumptuous evening dinner, your time at Linden Tree Restaurant will leave an enduring expression of the Mornington Peninsula and Red Hill gourmet region. It is here that we celebrate our passion for hospitality and where our guests revel in each other’s company and conversation. Deliciously fresh, seasonal produce makes its way from paddock to plate in a classic European style before it is paired with our very own award winning Lindenderry Wines, or a fantastic cellar featuring the very best of Australian and international vintners. Named in honour of an ancient symbol of romance, beauty, goodwill and peace, Linden Tree is an unforgettable metaphor for the natural bounty of Red Hill and the graceful atmosphere of Lindenderry estate. Open for breakfast 7 days a week, lunch from Wednesday-Sunday and dinner from Thursday-Saturday.
We visited Lindenderry on a Thursday evening and chose the three course option. The ambiance in the restaurant was soothing and the service was good.
Observed that the restaurant could do with some minimal tweaking of layout, such as non-visible service stations and an updated 'bar', however these minor items do not deter from the experience.
The portion sizes were substantial so the three course option appears to be suited for those with a sweet tooth to include dessert. I highly recommend the risotto, it was delicious.

Max’s at Red Hill Estate sits high on a hill in the beautiful hinterland of the Mornington Peninsula, with breathtaking panoramic views over precision planted vines to Westernport Bay and Philip Island.Max’s Restaurant offers an award winning modern Australian menu showcasing the finest local ingredients, featuring Max’s own range of produce and matching dishes to the estate wines. Max's caters for intimate dining, groups, weddings and corporate functions. Max's is complemented by two delightful cottages and artisan food and wine tours, which combine with the restaurant to provide an authentic gourmet experience in one of Victoria's most picturesque regions.
Second visit to this superbly located restaurant, this time for a cousin's birthday, five on our table and Max's Experience, three courses matched by a glass of wine at each course. This visit exceeded our already high expectations. Executive chef Max Paganoni has compiled a menu that should suit the most discerning palates. We both had three different courses to those enjoyed at the first visit. My venison entree was outstanding - melt in the mouth, and accompanied masterfully by.... no I won't spoil the surprise. If you are a meat eater, you must order this dish! My wife's quail was flavoursome and the accompanying quail egg a splendid touch. The wagyu hanger main was just two pieces, but WOW, perfectly cooked and again, accompanied by .... just order it to find out for yourself! My wife chose the duck breast as a main dish, let's just say it was magnificent in flavour, style, and well, the portion size was Partonesque - they breed big breasted ducks on the Peninsula! Cheeses to finish for me, Judy had meringue, again superb. And all three courses complemented beautifully by the wines that Max has chosen. Isobel and Phill served us attentively. The atmosphere is busy and fun at Max's - good Aussie values totally lacking in pretension - HOWEVER if you are a gourmand and / or wine lover then you'll not be disappointed. This place is everything a fine dining venue needs to be.

We were greeted with a look of shock when we said we had no reservation on a public holiday lunchtime. In the end it was no problem & a table for 2 on the deck was our choice. A perfect sunny day with a view to the lake & vines over the well kept lawns.
First class service was provided by our waiter Thomas, a lovely attentive French fellow who spared some time to chat with us as he fixed the wobble to our table voluntarily.
If you are after a fine dining experience on the Mornington Peninsula then Stillwater at Crittenden have that sewn up. Starched napkins placed in your lap, shining cutlery & glasses added or withdrawn depending on your menu choices. This is the kind of service that makes me feel special.
The 2 or 3 course set menu on offer on weekends had me deliberating & we opted for 2 course entree & main.
Smoked Murray Cod starter was excellent & my Duck main was to die for. Crispy skin rendered to perfection. My friend chose the Sesame seared Tuna & Morroccan Lamb, she was also happy with her choices. We both opted for wines from Crittendens Guipetto range at $9 per glass & 10% public holiday surcharge on our bill was expected.
This was my 3rd visit to Stillwater at Crittenden over a period of about 10 years & I have never been disappointed, even the toilets impress, with french hand soap on tap.
A beautiful venue in a picturesque garden setting with a Cellar door on site as well.

Authentic country charm with delicious food and welcoming staff this tin and timber shed is a destination not to be missed. The Merricks General Wine Store is a Peninsula icon established in 1924. Today it serves as the Cellar Door for Baillieu, Elgee Park and Quealy wines. The French inspired seasonal menu on offer for breakfast and lunch can be enjoyed by discerning tourist and locals 7 days a week. Customers are able to dine at table, taste wines by the open fire, on the sea view deck or under the vines whilst experiencing the rustic country atmosphere of this charming heritage building.
This country restaurant has that "we're busy because we're good" atmosphere. There is something for everyone here. Its good for meals, or if you just need a coffee. The store section also sells local wines and my wife found a great couple of gifts in the knick-knack craft area.

The Cellar Door Bistro offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the food is inspired by French provincial classics with a modern touch.
Love the concept of the building. Sneaked in a tasting after ordering lunch. The charge is $85 for 3 courses. For first I had lamb sweetbreads, pearl barley, almond, parsley and lemon, good but lacked some seasoning. For main: Ruby Rosedale Charolaise tri-tip, nasturtium, watercress and onions (beef). For dessert Mick's blackberries, dark chocolate and almonds. Went with a non-PPE wine. Overall a good experience, love the vibe and building.

This Is A Winery With A Fine Dining Restaurant
We booked this meal to celebrate our 25 years together and having dietary requirements Nicholas contacted us on a couple of occasions even before the evening to make certain we were happy to go with the degustation for that night. Which was the absolutely right thing to do !!! As each of the courses that came out were small creative masterpieces .. and the flavours were delicate and powerful at the same time, from the complementary quails eggs dusted in rocket, the garfish on a bed of porcini and linguini to the beetroot tower filled with goat's curd and pine nuts and the "piece de resistance" the pavé with salted caramel mousse ! The quality of the Estate wines were fantastic. All the staff were very attentive and pleasant and everything culminated in it being a most "enchanted evening".

Our newest, must have product is our olive balm!
Rocked up with a booking on the Sunday of the long weekend. We were seated very promptly and the menu was explained very well. We ordered our meals, tasty tapas style sharing plates. Pulled lamb taco, duck terrine, prosciutto, lamb meatballs, pulled pork, bruschetta, frittata, asian chicken salad, to share between 4 of us. Plenty of food, and overall quality and taste was good. The meal came with a glass of wine and a dessert and a coffee.
Desserts were delicious, the lemon verbena brulee, and the chocolate parfait. The coffee was exceptional., and i am a bit of a coffee snob.
The place was hopping, I cant believe how busy it was, the quality of the food and service was exceptional under the circumstances.
It was lovely sitting in amongst the vegetable garden and eating our meal. Great job Green Olive, and a big yell out to your staff as serving that quantity of people could not have been easy.
