Awarded three Michelin stars, five Toques and a rating of 19.5/20 by Gault et Millau, La Vague d'Or invites guests on a magical journey between land and sea. Arnaud Donckele's creative mastery ensures an unparalleled experience which combines exceptional cuisine and wines from around the world selected by the head sommelier. Arnaud's cuisine is a rustic journey through the Mediterranean. On one hand, it gives guests a peek into Provence, flirting with the subtle flavours of sun-ripened vegetables and the aromatic richness of the region's fresh herbs. On the other, it transports diners across the sea to taste the nutty essence of exotic argan oil. Much like a flavour alchemist, Arnaud composes his dishes as naturalist paintings. Throughout the season, guests may dine in the elegant restaurant or on the umbrella-covered Terrace for a stunning meal with dazzling views of the sea.

2017 Season: Thursday, May 4th to Saturday, October 7th
This is our second dinner at La Vague d'Or, we have stayed at the hotel twice and on this occasion we again had dinner at the hotel. We selected the summer tasting menu, full of lots of locally sourced fresh produce. My highly was the tomato course, but all were exceptional, the seafood and meat dishes were great. We also had the paired wine with our meal, their selections were just right. Service five star, venue five star, meal five star....we will return, thank you Chef Arnaud and team (Manou offered excellent service, as always!).

The menu is very good, simple but good fresh products and no need to add salt or pepper. Advice to reserve a table directly next to the balcony. Friendly service and away from the buzzy st tropez. Recommended!

Café valmer is open most days of the year, catering to locals and overseas visitors. As it is not in a location that would allow it to be a 'tourist trap' it does a very good job at offering good French food with a modern twist, along with exceptional shell fish.

Our friend took us to this restaurant as a special treat. She has a house in the region and also has a refined palate. First of all, the view from the outside Terrace, where everyone sat this evening, was breathtaking. A view over rolling hills and vineyards until you view the bay. The trees near the Terrace are beautiful as well. We watched the sunset and the moon rise. Then the food. I had the best fish soup, mashed potatoes and chocolate dessert of my life. And I have had some good competition for those dishes. My dinner companions also raved about their dishes. The service was impeccable. A truly memorable dinner and evening.

We had the artichokes and steamed sea shells. The chips are ok but I don't eat chips. It's an expensive low class beach restaurant full of loud and drunk guests.
We arrived by boat at 2.30 and had a 3.30hrs reservation the owner Christophe was extremely rude and told us basically to piss off until our table was ready.
The only real plus was the quality of the food but the eating area and bar was filled with a zoo of wannabes. The staff are dressed up like monkeys with English job descriptions printed on their t-shirts.

Gassin is a marvelous place to visit, amazingly we had been there several times in the past and missed the little pedestrian area where all the restaurant are located!
The view is lovely, if you can get the right table, and the food was really quite good. Of course like everywhere in the region it is not cheap.
Recommended.

Yes, the views of the Golf de St.Tropez were fantastic, the surroundings of the old town were impeccable, but unfortunately Bello Visto restaurant did not offer us the same experience. The service was horrible, extremely slow! There wasn't that many customers that evening but the servers took their time to chat with other groups of guests, probably they would give the restaurant a 5 star. It took almost an hour (60 minutes) from the time we got seated and the first Bonjour! We were hungry and cold (it may be very cold at night, even in the summer months).
The food arrived after another hour, we were already in a very bad mood. We got the menu-fixe, the food was not bad (we were so hungry), but nothing extraordinary. The soup was actually bad, the lamb was dry and the portions were miniscule. The wine was way overpriced, actually everything was too expensive for what they offered. I hope they share some of the profit with the city hall, because the only good memory is about the location.

Have eaten here twice during our two week stay in this part of France. Both times the restaurant was packed but service was excellent. Food was good value and most enjoyable Seems to be a family business with hard-working daughter running around all over the place, whilst aged parents who probably started the place mostly sitting down apart from (unwelcoming and grumpy looking) father dishing out menus. He told my daughter off for playing with serviette! They should retire and leave daughter to it.

This is the final restaurant on the row of restaurants with outdoor Seating overlooking the valley. The views are amazing.
They do a set menu for 34€, which is very reasonable, especially considering the the portion sizes.
Drinks are quite pricey however, but table water is supplied.
For start I tried both the goats cheese salad and the salade d'Italie. Both were nice, but the goats cheese was much tastier.
For main my friends and I all enjoyed the steak - they were all very good cuts of meat, with very little, of any, gristle. Served with roasted veg and potatoes, it makes for a very nice main course. One steak which was ordered medium was slightly over-cooked, which was a little disappointing.
For dessert we had the profiteroles. These looked more impressive than they tasted as the pastry was very tough and crispy, which ruined these a little.
I would recommend this place, but be prepared to wait a while. I know the French aren't renowned for their quick and efficient service, but we waited around 45 minutes between starters and main courses.
