Quebec City may be the only fortified city north of Mexico, but it welcomes visitors with open arms. Explore the Citadel, where you might catch Canadian troops staging a military ceremony. As for food, you could splurge on afternoon tea at the Chateau Frontenac, or do as the locals do and snack on poutine—french fries with gravy and cheese curds.

Just 3 minutes from the Château Frontenac, in the heart of the Old-Port of Québec, you'll discover gourment cuisine worthy of the greatest tables in the world. Member of Grand Chef Relais & Châteaux, 5 diamonds AAA/CAA, Gault & Millau.
Restaurant Initiale is extraordinary. From the moment you enter you are warmly welcomed by Rolande and her outstanding staff. The dining room sets the tone for a special experience -- the service is impeccable without pretense. We try to go to this restaurant every time we visit Quebec City -- and are disappointed if we do not get there. If you love fine dining, this is a place not to miss! Chef Yvan Lebrun is a culinary artist offering original and beautifully composed dishes with creativity and finesse. On this visit, the degustation (tasting) menu was once again outstanding! Courses showcased flounder, char, scallops, foie gras, and venison followed by unbelievable cheeses, chocolate, and orange-themed desserts. The wine menu is fabulous and the sommelier excels at working to make you feel comfortable as you select wines together. Her recommendations are always spot on. Clearly, our suggestion is to go to Restaurant Initiale whenever in Quebec City!

Total EnjoymentIn the gourmet world of Le Continental, traditional cuisine is classical. Enjoy the perfect service, the great flambéed dishes that pay tribute to the delicious French cuisine. The Continental's wine cellar is most impressive with its board of famous selection of French, Italian and American wines. It offers a choice of more than five thousand bottles, four hundred different varieties from Grands Crus classés to affordable prices.
Let Continental was superb. So much so that we went there twice for dinner during this brief visit to Quebec.
The restaurant is charming. The waiters are very professional without being supercilious. The food:
you can tack the menu on the wall—throw darts at it—and you come up with a winner. Every time. Great care is taken in the ingredients. The waiters time everything to perfection. And it is done with French flair, in front of your eyes. With the ease that is seen in expert skiers, ice skaters, prima ballerinas.
Because they practiced and voila. Your meal.
Clothing:
Most of the patrons were well dressed. Except for some stragglers. If this restaurant has any 1 or 2 or 3 star ratings, it would probably be these fools.
Dress nicely. Why? Because you are not some aging adolescent or eccentric billionaire who wants to be ‘cool’ and defiant, and wear pajamas. You simply end up being...inappropriate. And then you wonder why others crinkle their noses, as they would to a homeless person on a NYC subway.

At 17, rue Sault-au-Matelot in the heart of the Old Port of Quebec, housed in the charming Hotel Le Priori. There is a current and warm décor, the kichen is inspired by the flavors and fragrances from around the world. We have a large inner courtyard with garden Terrace in season, heated and protected from the weather.
Bravo Restaurant Toast! Outstanding dining experience in a special place that is tucked away on a small street in the lower city. The venison with juniper berry and blueberry sauce and Jerusalem artichoke vichyssoise with house smoked scallop and wild shrimp were standouts. The attentive...MoreThank you very much! This gives us the energy to do even better to offer you a moment of happiness ... I’ll share this beautiful comment with my team. Stéphane D'Anjou, Owner [email protected]

Feels family run and caring. Had the sweetbreads and friend had escargot. Both dishes rank as best we've had anywhere. Probably less than 20 tables but quiet and intimate setting. Meal started with a fine spinach soup. Then an excellent beet salad with a magical cheese. Finally the main course, mine the superb sweetbreads, hers the excellent escargot. Too full for the profiterole desert offering but strongly tempted. Would go back again and again were we to live in Quebec.

La Pizzaio experience is unique and amazing. This is not your traditional pizza. They concentrate in the quality of the toppings, instead of the crust. The crust is quite thin, pizzas are around a personal size pizza and the cheese used is quite tasty. Their wine pours are quite generous and the service provided by the owner is truly genuine. Quite a nice experience during our stay in Quebec City and hope to return when we are back next year.

We went to this sushi because the reviews were great. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent. The chef cooks whatever ingredients they have in the restaurant. They make sushi rolls in certain numbers, so you order the number of rolls you want. This was a great way to serve rolls and the chefs were really friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

One of the best culinary experiences I have had. The food was outstanding, the restaurant is really cute and has a great vibe. The host was great. If I were to go back to Quebec City for one night, I would choose to go back to this restaurant.

Ô6 Sens - For the pleasure of eating in the dark! One of your challenges consists of discovering the contents of your plate. With everyone tasting the same menu, your voyage into the dark will become a game: everyone will take turns hypothesizing about the 9 dishes that will be presented. There's a different theme every month! This theme will be the only clue revealed to you just as you enter into total darkness. For the bravest diners, an extreme menu item will be added to one of your nine courses. Your consent will be requested in advance. Are you game? To get the full experience, we have recommended wine pairings, allowing you to blindly taste 3 different wines. Will you be able to guess the varietal, the region, or even... the wine's colour? Ô6 Sens: let yourself be guided by our blind servers and... simply let go!
I've been to that restaurant 3 times already and I enjoy going back about once a year. It's an awesome experience!! I really think everyone should try it at least once. Here's the idea: you eat your meal in the complete darkness, not even one ray of light peaking in. You don't know what will be on your plate - it's more or less a guessing game. But it's fun! We have no idea how much the eyes are a big part of the whole eating experience until we loose the ability to see... Can you imagine eating something as common as pineapple and taking almost 5 minutes to guess that's what it is?
Eating in the dark also completely changes the way you interact with the people at your table. For once, nobody will be looking at their phone all through the meal! And it is way more intimate. Ok, I'll give it to you: it is intimidating at first. The first time, it took me 10 minutes to feel good once I was in the restaurant. I seriously felt claustrophobic. But it goes away, trust me. Come on, you can beat that feeling, be strong!! ;)
The food is good (you get to see what it was at the end), the whole crew working there is amazing. And yes, they really are blind and working as waiters. It's cool! They learn your name really fast and will help make you comfortable.
Trust me, you'll want to go back too!!! Enjoy!

Atmosphere is in the two folks who run the place with Vincent and his booming voice setting the stage. The food is simply cooked to perfection with sauces and seasonings which bring out flavors and textures you rarely find. It is on the pricey side but it is worth a dozen meals at a typical restaurant.
