We have have visited here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The reinvented dishes of the region's "cucina tipica" are superb. Fresh, local seafood prepared in a variety of ways - raw, steamed, baked, etc. - is always excellent. The traditional, refined, and upscale surroundings added to our experience. The owner and wait staff are warm, welcoming, and always professional. Whenever we visit the Ionian coast of Calabria, a visit to Gambero Rosso is an absolute must!

This is a true find!! The chef grows his own vegetables in his sunny Italian garden then creates amazing dishes, depending on the vegetables in season and creative ambitions that day. He serves so much food, antipasti, not sure who would be able to eat the next courses, homemade pasta and meat. This is crazy, amazing good food in a really cute, spotlessly clean restaurant.
Does not offer pizza in the day, but I'm told it's to die for in the evening in the wood fired oven.
Best, absolute best food I had in Calabria! I must try, especially if you want a true Italian, Calabrian experience. The view from the tow Martone are fantastic!,

Restaurant "natural food" in keeping with the culture of our land and the rediscovery of the traditional tastes. Research Laboratory of food and wine, with attention to detail and the raw materials used, is the ideal place to spend attractive moments conviviali.Tra activities, theme nights presentation products / producers, tasting workshops and cultural promotion of food and wine.
Our hotel owner suggested this restaurant and we were happy that he did. It was close to our B & B Pellicano and the food was excellent. Don't miss the suggested appetizer to share. The waitress kept bringing several different dishes, each one better than the next. She also suggested an excellent Calabrian wine to compliment our dinner.

Fantastic Calabrese cuisine, and a great atmosphere. Try to get a table outside on the patio in the summer. Don't get there too early ... ideally arrive at 9 or 10 pm to get in the place when it's in full swing!

Pizza and vegan and vegetarian cooking
We first tripped over this restaurant by mistake. It was a Saturday, it was raining and the previous restaurant we went to only took Reservations. We noticed a big sign "Pizzeria, Ristorante Vegetariano Mandalri" a vegetarian restaurant in Calabria is rare, as we are mostly vegetarian we ventured in. The youthful looking waiter looked at us, asked if we had Reservations, we told him we did not and he apologized - saying they were fully booked. Our tears mixed with the rain falling from our wet heads. The point is make Reservations on the weekends.
But the story does not end there. In our travels by foot through the town we once again ended up at the Pizzeria Mandalari. This time it was an off hour on a Tuesday, the restaurants door was partially open - we peaked in, the kitchen had activity but the dining room lights were off. Too bad, closed. We saw a small grocery store across the street with a poster for a vegetarian restaurant. Upon closer inspection we note it is for the restaurant Mandelari, a man pokes his head out of the store and asks us if we want lunch. He saw us looking in the restaurant, he asks if we want pizza. My wife and I both declare that is exactly what we want. O.K he says come with me. We cross the street once more, enter the restaurant and we are treated to what is probably the best vegetarian pizza I have ever experienced. Simply mouth watering delicious. There were many other items on the menu but as the kitchen was not fully open pizza with seasonal vegetables as the toppings and great regional cheese was all that was made available to us.
The owner, Johnny chatted with us and made us feel welcome. He played music, jazz, setting the perfect ambience and poured a half carafe of Calabrese red wine. The wine was excellent. Upon completing our meal we were treated to a home made aperitif, a digestive that was delicious. What an incredible experience, we are very appreciative of Pizzeria Mandalari and chef Johnny for taking such good care of us.
We will do our best to come back and to spread the word to all our friends in Calabria and abroad. Grazie per tutti.

Living here in Siderno have had the pleasure of eating here quite a few times, every time the food is excellent and in season, he prepares the dishes (Calabrian) like his Grandmother would have done. Olives and dried Tomatoes etc., are from the family farms and he and family make them all. When visiting here you are also entertained by him, and if lucky his sister who is a lovely singer, and a few locals, great enjoyable night.

Locale creato e basato sulla selezione di birre estere ricercate e prodotti selezionati, accompagnati anche da una vasta scelta culinaria tra panini, toast, piadine e molti secondi sfumati con la birra.
