This is a restaurant that offers a fine dining experience for Italian food. For tourists or anyone who would prefer a quick meal, it may be too rushed an affair to check out this restaurant. At least set aside 50 minutes to dine here at Il Violino.
The specialty, Risotto Violino, was a pleasant and flavorsome risotto. I like the Rane ed asparagi too. The second main dishes that were ordered tasted delicious too.
Service was thoughtful and good.
The good news for English speaking guests is that the menu has English translation. Ladies, please be prepared to be given a menu with no price printed on it. The menu with the prices printed on it will be given to the gentlemen.

revisited this place on the 26th june good quality food overall, but was let down by a poor pasta dish which lacked butter and had a copius amount of water on the plate.
3 antipasto, 3 torte fritte, 3 salumi vari, 2 minestra, 1 secondo, 3 formaggi,1 dolce, 2 caffe,2 aqua, 1 vino. total bill 87 euros
as on my previous review do try the tripe

Had the best experience of my life eating the culatello di Zibello (special prosciutto di Parma). I also tasted the regular prosciutto di Parma that is known all over the wold but it is different and less tastier..

The restaurant is located about 30 minutes southeast of Cremona and next door to Anti Corta Pallavicina. This was some of the best food and service we received during our time in Italy. An amazing experience with first class hospitality. Well worth the time to go off the beaten path and visit while traveling through Italy. Thank you to all of the chefs and staff for a wonderful meal.

La Trattoria del Alba is a restaurant that has always been famous for the respect of the local culinary traditions. Omar and his brother are now fully in charge of the restaurant. Omar takes care of his hosts with a lot of passion and talent. He verbally gives an overview of the various offers of the day and gently answers to your questions with as much detail as you want. Another important "characteristic" of Omar is his extended knowledge of wine and in particular of the so called "natural wines" (meaning without the poisons of the chemical industry). During our last visit we proved an excellent Casa Caterina Cuvée 60 2004 (sbocattura in 2010) and one Schoppitino 2008. We also remember having shared Magums of Barolo with Marco Parusso a few years ago. Omar's brother is a talented cook who is selecting the best ingredients of the area and preparing excellent food. You will not regret your visit if you like authenticity and quality.

I come from the same region of Parma and I can truly say this is one of my favorite place to go for 'salumi' (cold cuts), good wine (Gotturnio and Malvasia, red the first and white the second one). Furthermore the owner and the son they master the courtesy of reception. Do not miss during the music festival dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi. Owesome!

Antica Corte Pallavicina was a little bit different than all the other Michelin-starred restaurants I have dined in. The venue, the table setting, the garden you walk through before entering the place, the nearby riverbed...all those things add charm and a touch of magic to your dining experience. To that I would also add the very good service and the excellent tour of the cheese and culatello vaults, a rather unique experience. Now for the faultfinder part: although the vast majority of the raw materials are produced directly in their own curated garden, the food didn't blow me away at all. With the exception of one dish out of a 4-5 course meal, I found the overall taste lacked boldness and the combination of ingredients lacked fantasy. However, just for the sake of the location and with the aspiration and hope that, tastewise, I will be more impressed...I think would gladly come back one day

The Torriani restaurant was unfortunately (for us) completely booked during our stay. It seems to be a very favourite place for people with good taste. We enjoyed the suite in the upper floor which was large, modern, had a huge, modern TV set with even international channels. Breakfast was ok. The view from the courtyard of the hotel towards the Torazzo (high tower of the church) was spectacular. Restaurant "La Botte" in a parallel street came to our rescue. It was good.

Italy is the birthplace of food and Colombo is one of its unique representatives! My friends and I visited Italy last September and were suggested this restaurant for the food and the atmosphere. In hindsight, suggestions were wrong: it's not good, but much more! Culatello is amazing, as all the other homemade products. The young owner serves plates, his mother do magics in the kitchen. Now you can trust me, or go and have a look!
