Just a few miles west of Naples (and easily reached by train), the ancient seaside city of Pozzuoli is probably best known for its bradyseism, a raising and lowering of the Earth’s surface due to underground volcanic activity. Many sites remain from Pozzuoli’s days as an important Roman port, including the Macellum or Temple of Serapis, which for many years was submerged under water. The Flavian Amphitheater (Italy’s third-largest) and the Cathedral of Rione Terra are other popular attractions.

This is an update to my previous review, Convivium has updated their website to include many more pictures of this beautiful Agriturismo. They have also placed a bigger sign outside which makes it easier to find! Check it out their website and this great restaurant!

Of course the food needs to excel to prevent the ambiance from spiraling into campiness, and my recent meal kept up. Among pastas, the seafood medley most fascinated. Strands of zucchini mimicked the shape of the noodles. Tossed with tomatoes, mussels, garlic, basil, and a judicious trifecta of olive oil, it all came off as a modern, protein-spiked riff on pasta primavera. I dug a spoon into a bowl filled with fried artichokes and found a dreamy layer of braised artichokes, hazelnuts, and grapes underneath. Vegetable crudité, the other must-share starter alongside the cecina, veered more toward rustic than glamorous.

A veneu opened by the competency and spirit of innivation of Zanott brothers, that they created for a blend of flavor and hospitality, choosing a lovely backdrop for inventive cusine, spectacular and rafined pleasures. The place will open in a splendin "DOMUS"roman, almost entirely made up of walls and arches in opus latericium mixed whith constructions in tufa, from the structures that have lasted for centuries. The rooms are charming.sober and beautifully appointed, the venue is incomparable for accommodating dishes of haute cusine ,along whith wines by the scents, flavors and rare persistences.
We dine with another couple on a Sat night. As usual, the ambiance was great. We were strongly recommended to go with the special menu... both of us are vegetarian and one of our friend preferred the fish. Guess what, for the first 2 courses, the 3 of us were served SEA FOOD appetizers, while our other friend (who chose the meal with meat) had vegetarian ones... then, the 3 of us were served fish for the main course, which we all turn back... in exchange, i got more if the same octopus appetizer while the women were served insalata (i mean solely salad with nothing else!). Dessert was good. So, it is a nice place but over-priced and services on the weekend needs improvement! We will not go back! And, BTW, good luck to find a parking...!

When I go there my lunch was characterized in :gnocchi alla sorrentina with mozzarella di bufala , after meatballs in tomato sauce and at the end , very crunchy potatoes always hand made .But if you are lovers of Napolitan cuisine you will find many other dishes like pasta con le vongole or pasta ai frutti di mare . I considered this restaurant one of the best in Naples at the first for the relation between price and quality and because all is hand made. Finally because the ambience is as if I were to stay at home.

The Promenade of Via Napoli Pozzuoli hosts the TheSign, a GastroPub in SteamPunk style or, for those not expert in the genre, Victorian - Industrial Revolution. The distillery and the cocktails are entrusted by Michele, a bartender with international experience. He has built around him an outstanding assortment of liqueurs and spirits. The restaurant is led by Chef Valerio Laudati offering the choice of both simple and traditional dishes that of a gastronomic more 'daring' aimed at enhancing the many craft beers and fine wines. Their work makes every visit unforgettable. Whether a couple looking for intimacy or a group of friends with the desire to have fun, you will not be disappointed.
We ate at The Sign a couple times while we were in Pozzuoli. The food was always delicious. I loved the decor and even though one time they completely forgot my meal .....they more than made up for it. Great service, good food and drinks....MoreHi Laurie, thank you so much for your positive review! :) We hope to see you soon! Federica
