One of my business partners invited me to have dinner and a glass of wine, himself being a regular of the place. Little did I know upon buckling my seat belt that dinner and wine were to be served some 50 kilometers away from Vienna, but my God what an extraordinary experience this has been.
Wino is one of those small places that don't tell you much from the outside, but offer you a lot once you're inside. Eric our host was truly wonderful, a real gentleman and connaiseur of his trade. His wine selection is not for those who like to be spoiled and mesmerized with fancy names, but for those who enjoy a good wine in the company of true friends.
And for one evening I felt like being part of the place, which for me matters more than having a 3000EUR bottle of Montrachet on the table.

Nice restaurant with great selection of Austrian wines, good local food, price adequate, if they have too many quests, one waitress is too busy. I can recommend the place for lunch and dinner.

As we were staying opposite we decided to explore Albero - with a pleasant garden area and the restaurant inside. The garlic soup was a nice starter followed by well cooked pork and chunky roast potatoes with an excellent peppercorn sauce. Our other choice was Czech potato and ham dumpling with traditional cabbage - a tasty combination. Unfortunately the white wine in the Spritzers was completely swamped by sparkling water, far better to enjoy the famous Palava wine on its own. Service was lackadaisical, interior decor forgettably drab - but the food was worth a a visit.

This restaurant specializes in traditional Czech/Moravian cuisine. The food is tasty, portions large, prices reasonable, and service fast. This time too fast, perhaps. We arrived for a late lunch, maybe around 2:00 p.m.--7 people including 2 small children. It was closed inside (not sure why, maybe private function?). There was no table open outside and people waiting. We still got seated within 10 minutes. They were incredibly busy, but food still arrived very fast. Since there were people waiting, they also expected guests to finish their meals and leave, so they can seat other people. This is not usual in Europe, as people are used to sit as long as they want.
Tip: if the place is busy, let the staff know you are looking for a table, but don't be shy, be proactive and take a table yourself if you see a party get up. They will clear it for your quickly. Avoid tables with "Reserve" sign--those are already reserved for someone.

To be honest - I don't remember drinking wine in such marbellous surroundings and atmosphere. It's a must when you are in Mikulov. Even if you have to choose between going to the castle and watching it from Barta ;)We thank you very much and we look forward to your visit.

Our tour group had a quick coffee stop here on the way back from Vienna. Cannot comment on the food as only stopped for a drink and the conifer was good.

I had the risotto and it was ok, nothing to excited about but good enough. The service was also ok, no English spoken but there was an English menu so all was straightforward. Apparently it is not the season for desserts because there were none.

Nice and vast menu with typical Mexican dishes. Polite and helpful staff but they do not speak Spanish. The food is cooked according the Mexican taste and it is very tasty.
The meat is of a good quality.
The place is less than one hour drive from Vienna and can be reached through the Highway. Anyway when you are in the village of Wilfersdorf without a navigator it will be a little bit complicated to find the place.
Very nice Mexican atmosphere and prompt service.
The place although large was full therefore the reservation of a table is suggested.
