The food is wonderful, kudos to the chef. The service is professional, speaks to good management. We visited with my partner on Good Friday, so basically a difficult time considering it's a public holiday in Finland. However, given the price tag, service could have been quicker. Plumbing could be better, and we think the owners should look into improving the cleanliness and arrangement of the fixtures. Last word: food is good, price is a bit above par, essential fixtures need upkeep, but chef makes up for the shortcomings.

In the Old Town of Porvoo there is a red brick storehouse, built in 1902 by Oskar Simolin. The storehouse was a warehouse for Simolin’s department store. Throughout the decades different items have been stored in the building, for example coffee. This might be one of the reasons why Bar & Café Porvoon Paahtimo is located in the very same building. The building is situated on the riverbank, and you can reach it by boat during the summer. In the summer there is also a barge moored next to the Terrace. The deck is the perfect place to be if you want to enjoy the fabulous view of the famous riverside of Porvoo. Inside the storehouse there are old beams in the ceiling and thick red brick walls, which contribute to a peaceful and historical atmosphere. You can smell the scent of freshly roasted coffee and listen to the cheerful hum of conversation – welcome to Porvoon Paahtimo! Porvoon Paahtimo has an alcohol license and there are plenty of drinks to choose from. Our assortment includes beer, wine, cider, cognac, whisky, sparkling wine, different mixed drinks and coffee drinks. Our most popular coffee drink is Irish coffee. We are particularly proud of our beer assortment, and there are different seasonal draught beers. Why not try one of our tasty beers? Porvoon Paahtimo has a wide variety of coffee and coffee drinks, and the coffee comes from our very own roastery. We also have one of the world’s finest coffees, Jamaica Blue Mountain, in our assortment. You can also find tea and hot chocolate in our bar and there are salty and sweet pastry for sale.
We had the opportunity to sit on the Terrace on the water and it was beautiful weather. Hot chocolate with marshmallows and chocolate was really nice. The Runebergin cakes we're also really tasty. A perfect afternoon.Thank you for your review. Have a lovely end of the Summer!

This Nepalese restaurant is located close to the old town but a little off road towards the centre. The place is very clean and peacefully decorated, mix of Nepalese and Scandinavian. Food is very good and the manhood lassi served with lunch was excellent. Loved the taste of cardemum. Very good price towards quality.

Was recommended this restaurant by our guide and it was a good tip. Thursday is split peas and ham soup day and it was delicious and a big portion. Very good Finnish fares menu and good value for Finland as it is a very expensive country.
The restaurant is partially self service and despite being very busy the counter service was very fast and and the girl very charming.
Not to be missed if you are in Porvoo.

Been there several times. Good value for money. Nice surprise was that there happened to be a joint effort by various Porvoo restaurants. "Smaku". We ordered Rafael's Smaku plate. Ribs @5€. Very nice starter. I keeo my rating. Shall go again.

We stopped in here for a light lunch (sandwich and drinks) during our few hours in Porvoo. Service was friendly and efficient, the sandwiches were fresh and tasty (without being anything special) and the setting on the square was very picturesque. The prices were somewhat inflated, but that's to be expected for 1) Finland and 2) tourist areas.

We have visited Porvoo annually for years and we cannot believe that we have not found this treasure before. If you want to have an unforgettable experience in a place perfectly matching the feel of the surrounding 18th century Old Porvoo, this is it. Pastries and cakes are delicious and fluffy, almost directly from the oven, as it seems.

After early morning walkabouts we were ready for some sustenance and where better than in this charming eatery.
From the good selection we chose a couple of tasty and filling dishes. With coffee and cappuccino it was all delicious.
The waitress was friendly and helpful throughout. All in all a most pleasant interlude.

A restaurant emphasizing local and organic ingredients, knowing their suppliers, and basing their menus on seasonal items. By far the most ambitious restaurant in Porvoo.
We ordered season menu and the wines selected for every portion. The portion were interesting and tasty, wine selection was excellent. Atmosphere was easy and personnel friendly. Everything went smoothly. Most certainly we will return.
And if the wine packed seems to be too heavy ask for half.
