We visited for dinner in August 2017 (we were not staying in the Plockton Inn). The restaurant was GREAT! The specials dissapeared from the blackboard quickly, for good reason. I went for the prawns as a main, and I was not dissapointed! The food was excellent, the staff were friendly, and the portions were filling, well-priced, and nicely presented. Parking was no problem. I would recommend making a reservation, as it was completely full on the night that we visited (although it was mid-Summer!). I an heartily recommend this restaurant.

like the Applecross inn, also a vrey special place to stay and eat. But compared to Applecross in is the Kylesku much better. They serve food on a high standard along with ecellent services

With staying between the Isle of Skye and Dornan, the options for dinner were not many. One spot, however, had great reviews: The Waterside Seafood in Kyle of Lochalsh. Based on the reviews, we stopped before lunch time on our way into the Isle of Skye to make a reservation for that night. We were glad to have one, because we saw all walk-ins being turned away while we were there. Being on the dock, their menu is handwritten on a blackboard, based on what the ships brought. That day, we ordered the scallops as appetizer – melt-in-your-mouth and buttery wonders – and one order of the langoustines and one of the monkfish. The langoustines could not have been fresher, and the monkfish was tender and accompanied by a rich, creamy coconut curry sauce. We finish our meal with some homemade profiteroles – a perfect, sweet treat to round a great dinner. We strongly recommend the Waterside Seafood if you’re in the vicinity. We would go back every opportunity we’d have.

This is a lovely central hotel and if you want to buy a drink and sit on their outdoor Terrace then you should. I would strongly advise against eating there - a number of people had told us it wasn't good but on our last evening it was the only place in Plockton we could get food. We opted for the special - steak and ale pie. The pie was more weak gravy than anything else with the meat there was the cheapest ams most gristly cut - just horrid. So for drinks and views a 4 and for food a 2 so I have given a 3 overall.

After their annual holiday closure Plockton Shores reopened for this season two days ago. Had another wonderful lunch there today. Imaginative food, well presented and very good value. BUT like we dud do reserve your table before going. Plockton looked lovely today and this restaurant made our day trip from Portree really memorable.

The pub is a few hundred meters from the Eilean an Donan castle, just on the other side of the road and in front of the canal.
The food was very nice: we took a tasty soup of the day, excellent fish and chips and roast lamb.
It is very busy so you should book in advance.

Good fresh food served by friendly staff, been a few times and it’s always been a pleasure. Nothing OTT to eat, baked potatoes with filling and salad this time around for my wife and myself. Freshly prepared on the day. Thanks again, we will be back!

Situated in the Highlands of Scotland, we serve beautiful fresh local seafood, prepared simply for the fullest natural flavour.
We've been coming to the Kishorn Seafood Bar for years, attracted by the delicious fresh seafood - especially the squatties- but also the warm and friendly staff who made it such an unpretentious treat. How things have changed! Calling in for lunch today after a very long journey, we entered a tense room ( it is very small) and were made to feel extremely unwelcome from the start. An abrupt "we're very busy now" was all the woman in charge could muster clearly unable to cope with a fairly full cafe. When my partner asked if we could have a squatty or prawn roll (our regular choice here for years when not planning to sit down for a long lunch) we were told by the same woman, in what seemed rather a supercilious tone, that we couldn't expect them to peel our seafood for us - suggesting somehow that we were probably incapable of doing it ourselves!! Incensed by her rudeness, I suggested to my partner that we should go somewhere else - she then retorted that we'd probably be much happier at a cafe down the road that would serve us a nice bowl of soup!! In fact we went to the Waterside Cafe at Lochcarron where a friendly and super-efficient woman made us a delicious Sandwich bursting with juicy prawns in a couple of minutes. We knew the Kishorn Seafood Bar was up for sale - it seems either the new owners have no knowledge of how to provide satisfactory customer service or something has gone very wrong with the management of this once delightful cafe. What a shame!!

The Harbour Fish bar is Plocktons Fish & Chip Shop. We Specialise in the freshest fish and local produce. Seating is outside this petite takeaway. We also serve fresh coffees (cappucino, latte etc..),whipped ice cream & Pizza to go.
This is my idea of the ideal restaurant. The folks are so friendly and welcoming you feel like you've been coming there for years the first time you set foot inside the door and the food is excellent.
They offer fish and chips, pizza, various puddings, and other delightful choices and also cater to the vegetarian life. My wife's a vegetarian and was very impressed. Gluten-free dishes are also available and the staff seemed quite knowledgeable about food allergies and were able to make informed suggestions to a couple in front of us.
If you're in Plockton, there are many fine places you can choose to eat but I highly recommend reserving one meal for the Harbour Fish Bar. You just take your fish and chips and a cup of their excellent coffee and go find an empty table down by the water - and enjoy.

We were advised to go here and we're so pleased we did. Probably the best meal of our NC500 tandem adventure. Great service and really tasty food
