RM Bung Kombor

Reviewed By Abram293 - Mountain View, California

Went to Pekalongan for a wedding ceremony. One of our friends recommended us to taste the famous Bung Kombor spicy crab. Went there for lunch. We're lucky since we just had their last few crabs available. When our crabs arrived, the smell of the spices was really strong, but the taste was so heavenly!!

Based on my experience, the best oxtail soup (the regular) is in Bandung. Bu Leman's is the best grilled oxtail soup I've ever tasted. I've tasted near every famous oxtail soup from five star hotel in Jakarta, to this oxtail soup, far and away from almost everywhere, this came out as a winner for me. Price for regular oxtail soup is 55k, for grilled oxtail soup it's 60k

Garang Asem H. Masduki

Reviewed By Aurora Ribka M - Indonesia

I arrived pass 12 at noon and the food was almost over. Signature dish Garang Asem in the menu is more like cooking stew meat plus red chili. The meat is far from tender. Nasi Berkat that I order has run out, then I ordered rice with a side dish that is almost similar to Nasi Berkat. I am confused where the difference. Tempe fried flour feels a bit strange as it's been cooked long enough. I regret eating in this place when in a state of hunger. Don't try, unless the dish fits to you.

Obonk Steak & Ribs

Reviewed By SilverFlier - Jakarta, Indonesia

It seems there are very few restaurants in Pekalongan for those with foreign taste buds. I had high hopes for Obonk. Located on a quiet street it has a pleasant evening ambience, an open front onto the car park, high roof over the main Seating area, and also an air-conditioned room. Unfortunately ribs were off, so we had steaks. My Pepper Tenderloin had way too much sauce on it, and was sprinkled with finely ground pepper. Not exactly what I was expecting. The price is very reasonable and the fruit juice was fine. Hopefully some of the other dishes are better.
