Potentially an awesome restaurant given the location.
They are smiling that is true but price-quality is terrible, food is mediocre: we had some home made pasta and clams (did not taste like fresh pasta and quantity was ridiculously small) and 3€ worth of cooked vegetables which looked and were the previous day's leftover. Bill was way too expensive for touristic food.
Keep out.

I dined here with colleagues on a sunny October afternoon. The building and winery are absolutely delightful and brimming with charm. The menu is good and the food we ordered was excellent. I can highly recommend the mixed fish ravioli with shrimps. Obviously we also enjoyed a bottle of the Agriverde wine with our meal and it too was lovely. You must book to dine here.
The building also has a number of hotel rooms and a spa and if you request it you can get a tour of the winery and cellars.

This is an excellent fish restaurant where the menu is made every day upon fresh fish availability. The chef Sandro visits the city's fish market and adapts the menu accordingly. The way the dishes are cooked and arranged is aimed at putting the spotlight on the freshness of raw ingredients. It'worth every Euro. Go there!!

I was pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant on the outskirts of Ortona. The details of the decor are beautiful, from hand painted light fixtures, to hand made linen curtains. The food is all authentic and as an agriturismo, must serve food from the land apparantly. We ordered both hot and cold antipasti and had at least 10 different items to sample. Some were so interesting, like the Baccala and bean salad, Tripe and these cheese balls in sauce called 'Cacio e Ova'.
The portions are huge! After the first course of two different pastas, a ricotta ravioli and an artisan pasta called 'introciele' ( I think!) with an arriabiata sauce, we were almost full! The second course was a mixture of grilled meats, all very tasty. I would reccomend this place based on cuteness alone, but the food is fantastic also.

Rocco and his family share a service experience of almost 50 years. They got 2 restaurants location: one for the summer one, for the winter. The summer one is a very tiny and cozy facility just in front of the sea. Perfect to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the sunset sipping some freshly prepared drink. The winter one is located at the top of a gentle sloppy hill, something like 60/80 meters above the sea level, where you can have a stunning Panorama all day long, glancing from north to south to the unmistakable beauty of the Adriatic coast. Talking about food and service i would love to spend just some words like excellent, caring, tasty, of the uttermost quality and precious courtesy. Everything is displaced in an elegant and professional way and they do not bother at all if you want to consider any suggestion or enquire for explanations and/or special request. Quality, i repeat, is the primary concern in this environment. If you want to try one of the best and most inventive restaurant of the Adriatic coast here you are well served and very hardly one could be disappointed.
Conosco Rocco del Cambusiere personalmente da molti anni e non per questo scrivo questa recensione tutta a favor del duro e appassionato lavoro che lui e la sua famiglia svolgono da anni, con esperienza, sul litorale abruzzese. Lavoro da ormai molti anni nel settore del turismo e questo mi ha permesso di viaggiare molto, imparando da diverse tradizioni culinarie, qui e la per l'europa. Da "Il Cambusiere" torno sempre spesso e volentieri quando sono a casa. A parte per qualche saluto, ma sicuramente per essere deliziato dall'inimitabile e ineguagliabile servizio che Rocco e la sua famiglia ogni volta si prodigano di esercitare. La qualità del cibo e` di eccellenza e la sapienza nel miscelare i sapori e gli stili di cottura denotano sicuramente una alta perizia. Ampia e curata selezioni di vini. Una delle migliori realtà del territorio. Difficile rimanere delusi. Scrivo questa recensione perché e` ogni volta un piacere e per lasciare qui un piccolo commento in merito alla nostra esperienza. A presto rivederci. Non cambiate mai.

looking quite plain from the outside, we were surprised by the excellent food at a good price, presentation of which is carefully arranged too. the interior is quite elegant, perfect for a romantic dinner. the service struck the perfect balance between restraint and warmth. we strongly recommend it!

This location came highly recommended by the ownder of our B&B, and it did not disappoint. We ordered from the traditional foods menu, trying the Pallotte cacio e uova (Cheese and Egg Balls) followed by Arrosticini (Lamb skewers),all accompanied by the house red wine.

We ate here for my birthday last week and were really, really pleased with the whole experience.
The restaurant is located on a roundabout but one inside it's full of atmosphere and the food and service were fantastic.
We opted for a mixed seafood antipasto which was more than enough for the 3 of us and full of fresh fish and seafood, beautifully presented and full of flavour. We each had a fish pasta which again was plentiful, fresh and tasty.
The house wine and the freshly made bread were delicious and the price was very low for the quality we received.
We will be back soon and often.
