The restaurant has just been reopened by a new Chef and we read that he had a fairly good reputation.
Arrived at 20.00, seated straight away drinks order taken straight away, good.
It was past 20.30 by they got around to taking our orders!
A good 30 minutes later before we got the starters. Must admit they did serve a amuse Boucher compliment of the chef. The starters were all very good, Then the wait started..... It was after 22.00 when the main course came......it was a long wait,
4 of us had a platter with 3 types of fish al the fish were over cooked but the perch were badly over cooked to a point that you could not eat them.
I did make a remark to the chef who offered to re-do the but by then it we had finished and it was getting on, we did not want wait longer just for this. Dessert was ok nothing really special.
We will put it down to the fact that they had just opened and there is a few problem of organization in the opening days......
We will go back and try again when they are more organized.
Would have appreciated that they offer the aero of after dinner drink in view that part of the fish dish could not be eaten, a commercial gets is always good.

In the interests of having 'Swiss' cuisine, we chose this over the Thai restaurant my husband and I have visited before. The inside of the restaurant is very 'old-school' and charming, with features that look as if they have not been moved in several decades. The service was also very friendly and prompt, and they serve Boxer beer, which I am a big fan of. The main issue for me was the food itself. Two friends and my husband had the entrecote, which seemed OK, accompanied by some decent looking vegetables and a smallish side of shoestring (thinner) fries. The waitress offered more fries in a second round, which was sweet. My dish was a bit of a let-down, hence the 3-star rating. I ordered the civet de cerf (chasse season and all that) and found the deer was too dry and too salty, and that the side of cabbage was a bit thin and not massively inspiring. Luckily the dish was only CHF 25 but I can't say I was overwhelmed by the cooking, which is a shame as I think this place would have been great otherwise.

First meal after arriving, we wanted light fare. Good place for it. Nicely appointed, clean atmosphere. Friendly staff and home cooked food. More country style cooking than high end stuff. They have cheeseburgers and frittes. Saw locals loving them. I had a sausage and mashed potatoes with some kind of cheese in it. Good feed. Wine they suggested good. Apple tart perfect. Country style duck good too.

This is a place not to miss, since it has been taken over by the new owners it has made a great change to the food served. The food is excellent, Madame is in front of house and serves with a passion and Monsieur is in the Kitchen making great food.
Lunch time you have a choice of menus in the café side and in la sale you have a menu d'affaire
the prices are reasonable and quality is great, Just what the region needed.
Plenty of parking nearby so easy access. Would recommend making a reservation as it fills up quick
We will be going back more often

We went here because of all the hype on TripAdvisor.
This is your regular rock-looking bar/cafe (which is not a bad thing in itself), with tons of rock posters on the walls and rock music playing in the background.
The reservation process was very smooth: I called, I got the answering machine, which told me to text the number for a reservation. Which I did and got a confirmation immediately.
The service is a average for Switzerland and poor compared to the rest of the world. Which is typical for Switzerland. The waiter, while a very nice individual (methinks), was not necessarily the most welcoming of them all.
The choice is quite OK (including vegetarian stuff and the burger of the day), but you cannot customize them at all: I wanted a friend egg on top, it was not possible.
I totally forgot, and they didn't ask, how well too cook the meat. Therefore, I got a medium-to-well-done patty which I wasn't that happy with. But my fault, I guess.
The fries were sub par, quite dry and not that tasty (which I always expect of fries, given them being demonized worldwide and all).
Price wise: 60 CHF for two burgers (one small, 130 g, one big, 260 g) and two beers and tip.
We don't regret going there, but it wouldn't be our first choice for a come back visit.

Went last sunday after visiting the grottes in vallorbe (recommended). We went with three children, who are very used to going to restaurants. Welcome was sceptic at first, we had foie gras, which was very good. Then trio of tartares. The only tartares that was good, was the fera. The salmon was too salty, the beef was mediocre. Very good local wine. The children had perches- they were also mediocre. We will try again when in neihgboorhood

Hard to find ( passage with stairs comming or going to the rail station ) once inside you find a nice freshly decorated restaurant , a friendly boss and staff.we had a choice of 3 menus 16 / 18 / 24 Frs. The food was good but nothing special, the Portugues speciality looked interesting , ( eels octopus tigers prawns ) would like to return to try them . On the all good value for money

Went there for a family dinner and I must admit I was surprised by the quality of the food. It was certainly above what I would have expected in this small and lost village. The menu is short but diverse and all dishes were nicely presented well mastered, excellent products and the cooking quality was absolutely perfect ! Even the desserts were of quality. Add a smiling service and an obvious sense of welcome and you can easily forget the decor which remains a bit uninspired. So far so good, the problem though is the timing: 1 starter, 1 main, 1 dessert.... 3 and an half hours!!!! and this is arriving early among the first customers! OK we were in the middle of nowhere, a Friday night, nobody was in a hurry, nobody was asking for s super efficient, super fast service... but still, this is waaaaayyyy too long and I must admit it somehow spoiled the evening. Not sure if the problem was in the kitchen (probably) or with the waitresses (only 2 for a full house) but the result is the same. So.... be prepared. As far as I'm concerned I won't return despite the nice dinner. (almost serving 3 dots instead of 4 because of this)

Nice place with open kitchen. Friendly Thai owner cooking herself. Great choice of chicken, duck, pork and veg dishes. Excellent desserts as well. Fresh ingredients and nice presentation. We've been there many times and were never disappointed.
