We believe in creating dishes that use the best local produce in a manner that is refined & interesting and marrying these dishes with great wines, service & ambience. Our food is exciting & ever changing in accordance with the availability of produce. We use local produce in many instances & fill in the gaps with fantastic things from further afield. We are fortunate to be in a food & wine growing region & have direct access to really exclusive product such as daily fresh organic herbs, vegetables & salads, plus access to niche products such as the Clyde rivers Moonlight Flat farmed oysters, Milthorpe truffles, Mandadgery Creek Farmed red venison, Dutton Park Ducks & Farm fresh apples, pears, cherries & plums. Just to name a few! See our menu HERE..Updated 4th October 2013. Simonn has been running the kitchen for 15 years and previously trained in Sydney at with Anthony Musarra & Francesco Zonta of the Orient Express's Observatory Hotel, Pavilion on the Park, Lucciolas & Mesculn Brasserie. All one-hatted restaurants with strong Italian & French leanings. Leah oversees the front of house & manages the wine list which features the best of the local 'Orange Region' bunch & interesting food friendly wines from all over Australia, Spain, Chilli, Italy, France and New Zealand. We also have a growing private collection list of old Vintage & rare wines for the most discerning wine buffs.
Visited Orange for a golfing week but booked the restaurant months before because it came highly recommended. Mid week dinner was very popular, would recommend booking. Staff very attention, decor and atmosphere very special. Recommend any of the cheese soufflés for starters. Our group had pork belly for main with a side of steamed greens, very tasty and rich. Expensive pricing for drinks but what you'd expect for this style of venue.

Sister's Rock Restaurant is a family-run restaurant, located at the top of Borrodell Vineyard, overlooking the Pinot Noir block. Enjoy the food & wine in a venue with glorious views over the slopes of the Towac Valley to Orange in the distance. Our philosophy of food has developed around a love of growing produce on the property and serving it straight to the plate, a true reflection of the seasons. We are a heritage apple and plum orchard, vineyard, grow cider apples for our own traditional cider and black Perigord truffles. All meals are accompanied by Borrodell cool-climate, award-winning wines. The menu changes regularly according to seasonal availability. Please phone to discuss the current menu.
We were staying at Boorodell Vineyard and booked for lunch on Sunday. They were happy to take a late afternoon reservation and we enjoyed a lovely meal and good wine. Just what we wanted after travelling up from Sydney

There is a printed menu but have a daily blackboard menu were you get to try many of the chef's dishes
Being in a region renowned for cold climate wines, and an apple festival, we walked in expecting to try local cider. It seemed the waitress wasn't even aware of its existence. She offered two alternatives, ones available all around Australia. Ambiance seemed nice, with, as the name suggests, views over a park. But we left. Not good enough.

Modern Asian Restaurant situated in a heritage building offering casual dining at an affordable price.
I’ve reviewed this restaurant before but this was our first visit to its nw premises. It’s gone upmarket in terms of decor but the food is the same and is excellent value. It’s very good Asian fusion food, predominantly Thai but with other influences too....MoreThanks for another review Big Kev! Glad you enjoyed it and hope to see you again soon!

Simply Nile is a unique, alfresco dining experience set in the tranquil streets of Orange. The three courtyards, and indoor Seating, provide an all weather option for a relaxing breakfast or lunch. We are able to cater for groups, big or small, and also have the capacity to provide delicious take away meals. The cafe strives to provide fresh, flavoursome meals including house made cakes and special treats. A proud user of the locally roasted Fish River Roasters coffee we aim to use local products sourced from around the community. Away from the hustle of the city centre our friendly, attentive and swift service will ensure your dining experience is a pleasant one.We are open Tuesday to Sunday breakfast and lunch.
We visited for a Sunday morning brunch with friends and family. The service was friendly and prompt. The coffee was superb and the freshly squeezed juice delicious. I ordered fried eggs on sour dough with bacon, which cost just under $20. The eggs were cooked perfectly and I received 5 rashers of bacon, which I thought was great. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals, including the kids who loved their kids' pancakes. Highly recommended.

Hotel Canobolas is a beautiful old art nouveau style pub with traces of it's glory days still remaining.
Far from resting on its past, the hotel offers a great bistro with an excellent ranges of options including a resident Thai restaurant which is outstanding.
We stopped for lunch and enjoyed tow of the specials of the day - fish and chips and Penang curry with crispy pork belly they were so good, we came back the next day. Specials are $12 and the remainder of the menu reasonably priced especially if you cook your own. This is a great option especially when the barbecue warriors amongst us know we can cook a steak better than most restaurants.
Service is probably a little laissez-faire but adequate - but - you can't fault the food, prices or the location.
We'll be back.

Recommended by one of the wineries we visited in the morning, we went here for lunch not sure what to expect.
It was busy but our friendly waitress was able to squeeze us in and got us an outdoor table after she did a bit of wheeling and dealing. The crowded tables suggested that this was a popular place to eat.
Not a huge menu but still with options to cover all tastes. We enjoyed a couple of tasty, well prepared burgers that were the best we've had in a long time.
There was even some really good live music happening - which tempted us to stay longer.

We enjoyed a splendid late breakfast/early lunch in this busy cafe in central Orange. My pulled pork enchilada was exceptional-soft wrap, spicy pork and hot jalapeños. Excellent coffee too. Outstanding in a strong field in Orange

We have been going to this indian restaurant since it opened, and it uas not changed! The food is amazing, from the curries to the Nann breads, its all full of good real exotic flavours....The Red Pepper will satisfy everyone, from families visiting from India, to someone who has never tried it. Only one downer it does sometimes take a little bit too long if it's takeaway, that's definitely something for the crew at the Red Pepper to focus on going forward.
