Outstanding cellared wines, innovative cuisine, thoroughly professional service - as one of Auckland's favourite local restaurants, One Tree Grill offers a complete dining experience.
It was one of those very rare occasions that we get to Auckland...Ahhhh "The Traffic"....anyway, we did what we had to do while down there and then decided we would meet my Niece for lunch. This was the perfect choice.....great views, great food and good company. The staff were very warm and friendly and the meals we had were very tasty. We will definitely go there again the next time we "HAVE" to go to Auckland....lol.

We come up to Auckland once a year and always take our niece and nephew out to a fine dining restaurant - we have visited a fair few of the highly recommended ones - Sidart, The Grove etc, and this time chose The French Cafe for dinner. Unfortunately we all found the food as bland and underwhelming as the decor - we were seated out in the covered outdoor area. We ate off the a la carte menu, and with one exception (the ceviche dish one of us had for our first choice) found that the 3 courses we had were uninspiring and lacking in the 'wow' factor one expects from a restaurant with this reputation. The pork dish (3rd course) was a particular disappointment, closely followed by the lamb (first choice). Under-seasoning seemed to be a significant issue. Interestingly we all thought the 'palate cleanser' (a sorbet) and the amuse-bouche were the pick of what we were served! The wine selection was slanted towards expensive imported French wine (as you would perhaps expect) and I was not hugely impressed by what was on offer from other wine regions (particularly NZ). Service was reasonable, perhaps a little stiff to begin with - but a restaurant like this should never bring a course out when one of the table is absent in the toilet. All in all (considering the prices) a disappointing evening, and not at all what one would hope for from a restaurant often proclaimed as the best in NZ.

Been there twice, once alone and once with a friend. They serve great Middle Eastern/Turkish food. I believe I had kebab with rice (correct me if I am wrong, as I am not really familiar with Middle Eastern food). I believe the delight of having rice after living in Auckland for 3 weeks is more overwhelming for me than having anything else. Well, I am from Hong Kong, and rice is our staple food, so rice has a sense of hospitality in it. Anyway, great restaurant run by a family, great food, reasonable price (food is rather expensive in Auckland, I must say). Give it a try.

The Curry Leaf in Westgate is really excellent for food and service. We have been three times since they opened. We so much like it more than Curry Leaf in Kumeu. It is smaller, friendlier and the food is good value and flavour. Their lunchtime special is very good value at $10.

We are a unique European Japanese fusion fine dining in Auckland.
Best meal of my life. Each bite, of each course. Each flavor. Every morsel. The myriad textures. The complementary pairings. The mood, the vibe, the humility. This experience is simply better than any other. Better than Per Se, Daniel, Charlie Trotter (RIP), Taillevent, 11 Mad Park, SingleThread (my favorite new spot) and my prior favorite, closing night of the original Bouley (in 1996).
Go to Auckland just for this meal.

We were going to the Pop Up Globe and diverted to introduce family members to Sake Bar Nippon. From the drum roll as you enter to the moment you leave, this is the place to visit. Very good idea to reserve a table, parking can be a hassle as it is suburbia and popular. But the walk is well worth it. As this was not the the daughter and my first visit watching the rest of the families reaction to Sake Bar Nippon was delightful. The staff are so lovely, polite and friendly. Its was it's usual busy, lots of noise, wonderful smells coming from the kitchen. The night we were there two ladies arrived (without reservations) the staff seated them at the counter, well the moaning about this is "NOT" a table was rude and very audible, but, the staff managed to find a table for them and were the ladies thankful no! Sitting at the counter is a brilliant way of observing a Japanese cookery master class from excellent chefs. if they offer you a counter seat take it you learn so much.

I am so glad I decided to try this cute and cosy cafe with ample parking and a convenient quiet location. The wholesome and home made food is so reasonably priced and the service is genuine and warm - especially welcome during blustery winter days....MoreThank you very much. We are very happy that you had a lovely time in our cafe. Hope to see you again

The food here is always yummy & consistent...the only negative in regards to food is when I've ordered a side of fries I literally got 8 fries which for $5/6 seems a rip off! Upstairs does have a good room for the kids to play in but it can get quite noisy in the dining area as every noice seems to echo in the small space. Great for tasty food but prob not good if you want a private conversation.....delicious salads as well....

The light and welcoming atmosphere of Liky Liky starts with the huge glass windows and entranceway. The decor matches the feel of warm and welcoming with a definite sweet theme. It feels like one might be in a dream, and all the senses are being indulged.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and pleasant.
Tastings are not a problem, and once you get one, you can see why. You'll want to go for a real sized portion right away. The texture and flavours of the gelati here are second to none.
Simply amazing. A must visit, year round!
