Rasta has a good reputation in Sweden and it is usually good value for money
Rasta Odeshog has a good location along the E 4 and it is very easy to access and has a huge parking lot. I tried it a couple of times but was disappointed. The food was not heated and you get impression of left overs from the day before and even earlier in the week. Obviously a management problem here. Will not try it again, specially since you get much better quality and service just close by.

This lovely little restaurant has a long history with a remarkable good reputation in the area. Unfortunately the quality has been declining in recent years and it is obvious that new ownership and fresh injection of money is needed. Opening hours should also be reviewed I feel. But you can still have a lovely lunch both inside and outdoors. On a sunny day it is usually full. You can stay overnight at an affordable price. Hästholmen is a beautiful little village near lake Vettern and Omberg.

The food in this place is really fantastic. Locallly produced food cooked with great skill and love. Served with choices of matching wines. This place gives you value for money. To stay here is not a luxury experience. The rooms are ok but not more. Shower is a common shower in the hallway shared with others. But ta surroundings and The food still makes it a Great stay.

Not being particularly impressed with Swedish service stations we turned of the E4 and followed to the signs for Central Konditori in Vaderstad. Situated 3 minutes off the motorway about mid way between Stockholm and Helsingborg near to Lake Vattern, this is the perfect place to stop for a snack. Beautiful fresh bakery products to eat in, outside in the garden or to take away. Pleasant staff and a makes a good place to rest during the five and a half hour drive. Much better than a petrol station - you'll be pleased you took the extra five minutes because that's all it will take.

We do quite a lot of traveling by car down south. And we have fallen in love with the "Jelly-Fish Cake" that is being served here.
The first time we saw it, we thought it was a joke. A deep-purple jellyfish thrown on top of a sponge cake with custard. Some black currant or blueberries or whatever added. I tried it and it has then become a favourite. Fresh, tasty and not much sugar in it. Jst what I want.
This week-end, we had been traveling from Hamburg, had a hamburger in Glumslöv and decided to wait for the next bite until we could have a piece of our Jelly-Fish Cake (we do not know the real name of it). We arrived around ten minutes after they closed the place for night. I had to wash my hands and when doing that my wife talked to the real friendly staff and they helped her to two pieces of the cake plus two large cups of coffee. That does not happen often nowadays.
Thank you! We will be back. Make sure the JFC is available!

We have been here for lunch several times and we are always impressed by the quality of theropod and the very decent price. You get salad and soup for a starter, a selection of two main dishes, cookies and coffee. Drinks included. The quality of the food is better than most places in the area. A golf course restaurant can depend on players to be guests and that they come again. Important point is that anybody and not only golfers are welcome to dine here.
Try it. You will not be disappointed.
