Nova Friburgo (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈnɔvɐ fɾiˈbuʁɡu], German: Neufreiburg, English: New Fribourg, commonly referred to as just "Friburgo") is a municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro in southeastern Brazil. It is located in the mountainous region, in the Center Mesoregion of the state, 136 km (85 mi) from its capital Rio de Janeiro. The town is 846 metres (2,776 ft) above sea level. Its population was 184,786 (2015) and its area is 933 km².

Wow, what a revelation.
We had given up on the restaurants serving the same food. This restored the faith.
The atmosphere is excellent, kids are welcomed and the choice from the menu is a nice eclectic mix.
Visit the cellar. Even this is reason to go by itself.
I cannot advise if they do deliveries or late night. We went there around 1400 on a Sunday and there was space, but recommend you book!

Great German food and sophisticated flavors, in a cozy well decorated interior, where they value the detail. They even brew their own beer! The attention to service is beyond excellent.

One of the best restaurants in Nova Friburgo and therefore one of the most expensive.
The food is German style and very authentic despite the fact that there is not a German in sight.
They produce their own beer which is very good.
I would recommend saving your money to have a meal here if you want something special. A very cosy, romantic place.

Simply delicious food and cozy atmosphere. I've eaten there a few times, and always enjoyed the culinary delights Le Bon Bec has to offer. At winter time, in addition to a good wine, there's also a nice fire glowing to warm us up, while we enjoy our meals. Price wise, it is not any more expensive than other eateries throughout the region. Pay them a visit, you won't regret it. Et voilá!

In Muri, minutes from Nova Friburgo is this better keep secret place. Family owned restaurant with a German cuisine, the place is very agreeable with German decoration on a mountain clime temperature. The way to prepare your plate is: chose the meat, the sauce and potatoes or rice. Great taste. Desert is also great. Good wine selection. Excellent service.

i have been here for lunch several times over the years. The Rodizio is good but very predictable, never changes the plates are always the same, even put on the table in the same order and position. Very pleasant restaurant. The only thing I have never liked here is the attitude of the waiters who give the impression that their jobs after very secure so they don't have to try very hard to please the clients, maybe they worked for a government department in the past!!!
Overall worth a visit as the food is good. Don't expect to lose weight.

It was a big surprise for me and my friends. We had had a nice weekend in the region with some friends. One of them, that knows very well the region, suggested this restaurant to have a late lunch there in that raining sunday. In spite of not been unanimity, we decided to try it. We had arrived there at 5 pm and the owners received us with a big smile and a special food. It was amazing. Believe me, there is happiness without meat. They proved. Tip: to start, ask for a caipirinha with honey and ginger. Definitively It was a happy end for our week end. I and all my friends recommend it, flavio

My wife and I went to this restaurant expecting...a restaurant with a menu ! As they have none, we were quite surprised at first.But then, as we sat down, several dishes started to appear in the hands of the attendants. Tradidional home-made Brazilian cuisine. Black beans, white rice, french fries, fried eggs, beef, pork, strogonoff and so on...The staff tried to please us as much as possible. The place is very clean and the price is correct, the food plenty and rather tasty. But, no wine. Just beer. The restaurant is located in the groundfloor of a house that serves also as a hotel.

Excellent atmosphere, food, service and price. We ordered a pizza and a spaghetti Matriciana both tested very fresh and good. Also great selection of ambient music. Get there early otherwise you'll be waiting on line. I'm not sure if they do Reservations.

If you like trouts here is the perfect place to eat them. The menu is very vast with many options.
The service really could be better. Being sympathetic is not enough when you're slow and can't handle all tables, even with a not full restaurant.
