The Saharan city of Nouakchott was a small fishing village until 1957, when Mauritania attained independence. The new capital city of a young country, Nouakchott has changed quite a bit since the Sixties, with mosques, government buildings, and street markets rising up out of the desert sand. Spread out over land that constantly being encroached upon by massive dunes, and inhabited by a nomadic people that don't keep their tents pitched in one place for very long, the city is always in flux.

I had a lebanese salad with bread. Probably the largest salad I've ever had, but it was excellent.
The dining room was a bit dark, but cool and not noisy - a welcome retreat from the heat.
Service was good and the restaurant clean.
I would certainly return.

Nice restaurant we must visit it, and fill of many kinds of food, and I recommend the sea food dishes, with good service and clean, and comfortable.

Restaurant Specialites Fruits De Mer Et Cuisine Internationale .salle Fumeur Et Non Fumeur Idéal Pour Les Repas D'affaires, amis Et Famille.
The best room of the restaurant is the one, with aircondition at the back to the place. Good to book in advance as it gets very busy for lunch. Fresh fish grilled and service.

Our team ate there a few times before we found a better restaurant in the neighborhood. Food is ok, but having just come from Jordan, the Lebanese selections were lacking taste. And the flat bread, like a lot of pastries in Mauritania, have a strange texture & taste.
Try to set outside, in the windiest location you can. Otherwise you will be eating with one hand & killing flies with the other.

As a resident I find myself here often. The owner and man who does everything, Joao, is always there to greet you and have a chat. He has an amazing Sunday Brunch but I usually come in late afternoon for a late lunch or later for dinner. Food can be prepared all the time whether it is a simple omelet or Sandwich to full course dinners. There is a menu but it is best to ask Joao what his suggestions are for the meal. I have never been let down by the quality of the food or the service. The meat and fish are fresh and prepared (cooked) over a grill. Joao prepares the food. This was a surprise find and glad I live close.

Loved this place in Nouakchott for its burgers. The place is fun during football weekends specially when Barca and Real Madrid plays.

I have eaten in and have several times taken pastry away. The place is air conditioned and has wifi (free). I found the sweets to be good and different from the usual Nouakchott bakery. The regular menu was noting special. If you want to treat yourself to a sweet then this is the place to visit.

Not cheap and a bit expensive is you choose entry, plate an dessert for many. Not overpriced compared to Nouakchott however, and the food is of good taste and quality. A little more efforts should be done to have more pastries for dessert.

I went the with a colleague for a lunch. Took a Sandwich "oriental" which was supposed to be made with minced meat. It came with big chunks of meat. Not that easy to eat. .. but taste was fine.
Ok.... but probably the main quality of the restaurant was that it was at walking distance from our office.

This place is a bit hard to find, but is worth the search. A beautiful home in a residential area, the ambiance is perfect. The service and food were outstanding, and the price was affordable. The filet with Roquefort sauce was perfect. Various sauces and side dishes are available. The mashed potatoes were excellent. Espresso was the best i have had in a long time.
