Renowned restaurant at the Belgian Sea Coast. Renovated in 2015. Trendy bistronomy with a contemporary interior. A large menu and choice of seasonal suggestions.
Just great food. Professional and very friendly staff. Some original dishes like e.g. lobster grilled in the green egg (very advisable, super), and of course some pimped classic dishes. The kids had chicken with fries. This was the most tasty chicken they've ever got. So, no rubish for the kids, just top quality.

We love this place which is next to the local fishery museum. We like to go there in the afternoon after walking our dog through the dunes.
They have excellent beer from the tap, the best being a 'Grimbergen '. You can get sour hering, salted fish or small shrimp from the northsea, or a generous portion of cheese and / or salami to go with your beer, but there is also more substantial fare on the menu.
A delightful place to spend a lazy summer afternoon.
The fishery museum is just in front, absolutely worth a visit !

Like every year we wanted to go and eat in 't Marmietje when on holiday in Nieuwpoort.
We came here on a sunday in the summer vacation around 6pm.
Normally I would make Reservations because it is always packed but this time we just arrived in Nieuwpoort and thought to just go and see if there was a free spot.
We were very lucky to have the last table free for us and our order was taken quickly.
I had the "Roggevleugel" with fries and it was very good and a big portion.
The waiters were young but very eager to please and friendly aswell.
Like every year I had a great time here and am looking forward to next summer.

A busy Sunday of a very busy sunny long weekend in August, when everything at the coast is crowded ... and yet, Bistro du Port was a very pleasant experience for dinner. The food is good, nicely presented. But the true differentiator was the team - despite the heavy workload, at the end of the evening, the service was attentive, the staff was efficient, friendly, cooperative towards each other. (We had dinner in another restaurant in town the night before, where the service was chaotic, the waiters clearly didn't like each other ...). What a difference it makes when people enjoy what they do ! Just for that reason of the smiles and the positive spirit, we warmly recommend the Bistro du Port.

"De Roos" has existed for nearly a hundred years now. During the first World War it was a cafe where the customers could enjoy some shrimps or kippers at the bar.Since June 13th 2008 we have been running "De Roos", a cosy family restaurant where quality and fresh products are essential. Our meals are prepared with a sharp eye for detail.After having gained a lot of experience and professional know-how in "De Bergscheure" in Zevekote, we are looking forward to giving you a hearty welcome in "De Roos"!Natacha Vandamme and Steve D'hoedt
The restaurant was packed, (always a good sign), and it looked very inviting from the street.The atmosphere inside was calm with a happy, friendly vibe.
One of the joint owners greeted us at the door. She was super friendly, laughing with all the customers, and very attentive.
The food was wonderful. Recommend the fish soup, cod and the eel in curry sauce.
The other owner heads up the kitchen and he personally came out to talk to customers, checking that they were happy. They took a genuine interest in ensuring everyone was enjoying their experience.
This must be the best restaurant in Nieuwpoort ! Great food & super service.

I had the suggestion of the day for lunch, which was a typical dish (vispannetje), albeit with french fries for I guess the tourists. Before there were some olives as well as pumkin soup and bread. The soup was ok, but lacked flavour. The same can be said for the main course, in which the little shrimp were not freshly peeled, and the whole was rather watery. The service was attentive and friendly, and the setting is nice. Plus point is that it was open, even in November. A negative point for small eaters is that you cannot order just a starter.

Nice decor and Terrace wir-th open fire and view on the beach/sea. Nice place to drink something or for teatime. I would NOT recommend tough to eat there: not enough choices in the dishes, only a few snacks, several salads only available during summertime, suggestions only mentioned at the entrance, ... For sure there're plenty of better places than Chagall to eat in Nieuwpoort.

Food level is average and a bit overpriced. Striking however is the lack of motivation of the staff. There's more staff than required but they dont like to work which is noticeable by the lack of interest and friendlyness towards customers. They almost throw the plates at your table ............ Even for tourists an akward experience .....

A very busy restaurant known for it's tapas. I wouldn't advise to order "a la carte" and not the fixed menu. (better food!). Waiters are too busy and sometimes (often!) forget the drinks you ordered. Kitchen was slow as well. I think they can't handle a "full house" well. The food was great however!

the restaurant is convenient located a few steps from the coast-tram from Ostend;
but parking is also available nearby;
we appreciate the very friendly reception and the attentive service of Heidi and Christine;
they always take into account special requirements,
but even the low-salt fish dishes were very tasteful, thanks to an excellent seasoning mix,
this reveals a high professional skill of the chief cook Patrick, giving always such artful presentations, with creativity and excellent variations;
the appropriate wines and champagne, were chosen by the sommelier Gino from the Vinotheek, giving a finishing touch to a fantastic meal in a relax atmosphere;
