I ate here twice while in Neil. We were only in Neil for 2 days but decided that this restaurant was a safe option. The first time we ate we waited for almost 1 hour for the meal but the food was fresh and a lot more than we expected. I ordered fish and chips but got a really nice grilled piece of fish and home made chips.
The second time we dropped in after scuba diving and placed our order. We then went to our hotel to shower and change and returned to the restaurant for our meal which was ready. I would suggest if you can that you do this.
The food on the second day was ok. I think welcome in Havelock is better. Overall nice people, the place is a little primitive but for Neil it was ok.
I spoke to the scuba diving instructor about this place and they said that for tourists they give you a lot more meat in the curry but after you have been there for a while they start to reduce the amount so this might be a problem if you are staying in Neil fora longer period.

I disagree with Lonely Planet's review. We went in expecting "strong filtered coffee" and found a sign for espresso. Even better, we thought, until we were served small cups of strong instant coffee that tasted awful. Had to go back there for breakfast before the morning ferry on our last day, because everything else was still closed, and their French toast was basically four soggy pieces of toast that had been in minimal contact with anything egg-related. Besides, it took them 30 minutes to make two teas and two servings of French toast, though we told them we were in a bit of a hurry because of the ferry.

I have made several visits to this place and have never been disappointed. They do great Indian food, thali and fish & seafood grills. I have also visited this place for breakfast a few times and they do make a good crepe. The staff and the owner Bhaskar are very friendly. They love to make conversation and have even given me complementary tea on many occasions. Bhaskar the owner grew up on the Islands and lives right next door too. He's a very inetresting and fun person.

the first thing you notice as you enter Gan Garden is its anbience..covered with foliage and well spread out orientation of huts(yes they provide basic huts for verry less),kitchen, a roofed sitting area with the menu displayed on black board and open sitting area with wooden tables under trees..with the cool shade, gentle breeze, birds chirping this place reminds you of ashrams of ancient sages..such is the peace here..we were cycling around under the hot andaman sun for sometime before coming here and had a quiet beer here..we returned next day and had veg thali which, i felt, is probably best in all of andaman, both in quantity and taste..we returned next day once again and had pizza and beer..the owner is a bengali who runs the place with his french wife(i was surprised to hear her clear bengali at first)..All in all this is a place you must check out if you are visiting neil island

Friendly place, with wonderful food. We had jambo shrimps served in a banana leaf and grilled after being very well seasoned with ginger and spices and served with rice biryani. The food was excellent and the owner very friendly. The decor consists of a whale's skeleton, which died at sea and was found on the shore 11 years ago.

Sea front Multi Cuisine Restaurant
We went there for lunch after exploring the sitapur beach nearby. We were the only guests in the restaurant still the hotel manager took care of our needs very efficiently. The staff was really nice. The food came in time and every item was fresh and tasty. Had a very good time and i highly recommend this restaurant for having lunch/dinner when in Neil.
