High-quality, regional and seasonal cuisine in our restaurant. And in addition to many highlights from the world’s best wine-producing regions, our well-stocked cellar also boasts numerous Vully wines.
We stopped here one Friday night on our way back to Bern from Geneva. Other than the two large tables of locals celebrating a birthday, the rest of the clientele were tourists which should have rung alarm bells, especially as all the other eateries along the charming Murten main street were bustling with residents. However we were drawn by the view of the approaching storm through the impressive glass windows overlooking the lake. The decor was a little modern and austere and the atmosphere muggy despite the open windows and we would have sat outside on the more romantic, stone-clad Terrace (without unfortunately much view) but for the threat of rain.
We were greeted by the maitre d’ sporting an unsightly stain on his shirt and were promptly seated and served by an efficient if unsmiling waitress. While the local Chardonnay was excellent and the amuse bouche (three types of dips/butter) were OK, the rest of the meal was appalling.
We opted for the perch fillets “Müllerinnen Art” with boiled potatoes and regional vegetables. Everything on the plate was overcooked and surprisingly tasteless, both the potatoes and accompanying sauce were floury (one potato had an unsightly bruise), the vegetables were mushy and the fish portion (8 filets) was miserly. Judging by the speed with which our plates were produced, I suspect the ingredients were prepared in advance.
Still hungry, we succumbed to the Toblerone chocolate mouse and Baileys cream which would have been good had the Bailey smears been more generous. This disappointing meal, along with an additional half litre of sparkling water set us back just under CHF 130.
We should have forgone the view and gone to L’Italiano.

Great service, not at all touristy. The pasta was the best, the main courses were good. The tuscan red wine list was extensive and reasonably priced.

I had dinner there after a scenic cruise on the Neuchâtel and Murten lakes. The restaurant is located directly by the pier; from the railway station it is a 20-minute stroll through the picturesque old town.
The restaurant is divided in two: the cozy dining room is called “Lord Nelson” whereas the inviting Terrace with beautiful views on the Murten lake corresponds to “the Pergola”.
On a warm summer night the Terrace is often full, thus it is much recommended to book a table – as I did.
Service was excellent throughout the entire meal – efficient and discreet at the same time.
Food tasted fresh and good. The “ravioli al limone” (homemade ravioli in a lemon and balsamico sauce) I chose as starter were delicate and cooked al dente. As main course I opted for the “Eglifilets meunière” (perch fillets sautéed in butter): the fish came directly from the Murten lake and was quite fresh. I was glad I had chosen the small portion, as it was already quite substantial. The raspberry panna cotta as dessert was more disappointing, as I found it much too sweet to my taste; the accompanying orange biscuit again added to the sweetness.
The wine list is impressive and includes many local producers. The Vully Pinot Gris was light and fruity, and perfect for the fish.
Prices are at Swiss standards. The bill for the three-course dinner including 2dl white wine, 5dl mineral water and double espresso amounted to CHF88.

The pizza was fantastic! We ordered a Pizza al Pesto and the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina. The gnocchi were good, but the pizza was the real star. The crust was crispy, and the pesto on it was fresh and delicious. Next visit, we'll order a pizza and a pasta with pesto.

The restaurant is well located and has direct access to the lake (has a marina). The main restaurant sits above the "snacks restaurant" so there's another menu down there. If you want a nice spot close to the lake, book ahead.
Good food, perhaps a little more changes in the menu won't do bad.

This place was a real find! Food was wonderful and the waitress (Betül) was charming. We had a table outside facing the street, so it was fun watching everyone walk by as we waited for the food.
We had a lunch in this restaurant located on the central street in Murten. The food authentical and very good, the service fast and friendly.

Arrived for lunch at 13:16 hrs.....restaurant was fairly busy.....but lots of spare tables. Refused to serve us, telling us we were too late for lunch and the kitchen had closed??!!! How unbelievably inhospitable and unwelcoming, as we had made a special journey to Murten to try their cooking.

The tea room is stuffed with tables and chairs and once the occupancy reaches half capacity it is extremely had to walk into the place. Prices are rudely inflated even for Swiss standards. As for service the personnel are always in a rush and careless.

The cold Roast-beet with fried potatoes (Bratkartoffeln) and tartare sauce was simply said great - the meat was great, the potatoes were great, the service was great, and the outside Seating as well as atmosphere too ... what an amazingly great place.
