We've eaten at Le Darnetal a few time in the past. It's a great little venue, always popular. As it's small, booking in advance is essential. A good selection of dishes are available on their set menu.

Full of AUTHENTIC CHARACTER When you step over the threhold of this bourgeois house you will enjoy a traditional, mouthwatering cooking. Careful attention has been paid to the decor, as the service. With the possibility to have lunch or dinner in the inner courtyards in the summer months.
We stayed at the hotel and thought it a good idea to have dinner as the 30 Euro menu on the web site sounded nice and the web stated it was served on the night of our visit. When we sat at our table we were informed that only al la carte menu was available . We had two courses and was disappointed with what we were served . Other dinners we spoke to the next morning also said that they were disappointed and we all agreed that for what was served was expensive
Hotel very nice but if we stay again shall eat else where as there is plenty of choice close by

This is a beautiful small hotel in a fantastic location just south of Le Touquet. The theme is frogs and they appear everywhere in painting and statue form. The building is old but well appointed with comfy bedrooms in outbuildings all on the ground floor.
The chef is well known and his approach is to use ingredients from the land. The dinner taste was nothing short of exceptional. It was let down by poor table service with lack of attention to the customer and with no headwaiter. There were circa 12 kitchen staff visible in the open plan kitchen, however seeing the chef and owner take a phone call on his mobile and step outside the kitchen to sit on a step was not what you expect paying circa £100 per person excluding wine.
We had two circa £100 bottles of wine and yet had to wait 5 mins with an empty glass before grabbing a waitress to fill it up. Our second bottle seemed to then disappear and I am convinced it was not empty!
The poor service overshadowed an amazing location and outstanding food. I would recommend this venue caveat my comments.

We are a charming boutique style hotel with a gourmet restaurant, set in lovely walled Gardens, and located opposite the roman Citadelle of Montreuil sur Mer. In the summer, enjoy lunch on the Terrace, and in the winter warm up in front of our real log fire! Our 10 bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable, with all the amenities ans services you expect from a top class hotel. Excellent special offer rates for mid week stays, so take advantage and reserve !
We have dined here before, a few years ago, and on return are pleased to find that their standards have not slipped. The chef and his team are as focused on quality as they ever were, and the wait staff are utterly professional.
Some locals told us that the closure of The Wine Society's French outlet in this town has reduced the number of British visitors and dampened business somewhat, but a quality place like the Chateau de Montreuil is still a worthy destination on it own.

We decided to try here on a recommendation and also from the reviews on TA. We were expecting a vibrant loud French bistro however it was very formal. We hadn't booked but would have turned around had we not been shown to a table immediately. We ordered a bottle of wine and should have gone for a carafe but these are not advertised. The steak entrecôte was nothing special and the beef dish was over cooked probably because my partner asked for the steak to be cooked medium to well done! Wasn't cheap either two mains bottle of wine and two Deserts 81 euros.

The menu is never straightforward here so you have to expect a little of the unexpected. Easy to see why some get upset but when you select well the food is fantastic.
Lovely service in French or English from young by good quality staff.
We will be back and I want the painting of the Venice doorway.

The Patio has a wonderful atmosphere, is always busy and provides consistently excellent food and wines. Ann is front of house and Olivier is the chef. A wonderful warm atmosphere and a hearty genuine welcome for their clients old and new. Anne's enthusiasm for customer service and life combined with Olivier's love of food and cooking its French with a global touch that provides wonderful, subtle flavours but not heavy with sauces and leaving you with a post Christmas Lunch feeling. An easy choice for us when in Montreuil Sur Mare something for everyone.

Good value auberge on the outskirts of Montreuil. Near the more famous Auberge de la Grenouillere
A lovely walk down from the main town to Madeleine, and I am so glad that we booked. The rustic and simple auberge was full and it was clear why.
The food was full of flavour, well crafted and good value, and served with a smile and the offer to translate any unknown ingredients
And a walk back up to the town helped burn off the excellent lunch

We visited this establishment the last time we were in the area. It was very busy and we only had drinks. This time we arrived long before service and enjoyed our drinks in the sun. Staff are friendly and do not stop working to ensure everything runs smoothly. The menu isn't vast but has something for most tastes, inc kids. I don't usually choose steak, but im glad I did. I had the sirloin, rare and it was stunning, along with the pepper sauce. To finish I enjoyed the cafe gourmand. I would definitely return. Thanks team for a great night.

I have just read the last two reviewers and their complaints about this establishment being expensive. Hang on. How is 21 Euros - like £19 - for three substantial courses of interesting and tasty food, and house wine at 10 Euros a demi-litre, expensive? Where do these people usually eat - at Fred's caff?
The ambiance is relaxed, the presentation clean and attractive and the owners and the waiting staff friendly. The food was more than adequate in quantity and taste and we had two very pleasant meals there.
A combination of this restaurant and the Castel des Anges chambre d'hote up the road make Wailly Beaucamp a must visit destination.
