This island, with its fast and fickle tides, was a notorious prison during the French Revolution. Today, visitors arrive by choice, seeking to explore the 11th-century abbey, dine in fine restaurants and take in the impressive evening illuminations. Only a narrow causeway built in 1880 links the island to the mainland, although a bridge is due to be completed in 2012.

Good straight to the Terrace, don't stay in the ground floor. Upstairs is VERY nice.
Very good restaurant, great friendly service and very solid food.
Went there for dinner, the view is very good (you need to be there early) and everything in the restaurant is good quality.
Also has a decent wine list.
Great 21 EUR menu.

Classified as a Tourism Restaurant, the Le Pré Salé invites you to come and taste its local specialities. At the foot of Mont Saint-Michel and its abbey, the restaurant is in an exceptional setting which will tempt the world's gourmets.
I was looking forward so much to trying the Pre Sale lamb on our trip to Normandy. On our way to Mont St. Michel we were delighted to see this restaurant and popped in for a meal. Well, my husband and I both had the lamb, and, to our disappointment, it was really over-cooked and tasteless. Our two meals were expensive, but the portion sizes of the lamb were so small and we were still hungry when we left. I wish we had gone to some other restaurant to experience the salt marsh lamb! I think Le Pre Sale Restaurant management is in the tourist business and not the food business. There was absolutely no excuse for ruining their "signature dish", and I would advise anyone who wants to try authentic Pre Sale lamb to avoid this place.

After heading around mont saint michel, we want to eat
We dont try the pizza but bruschetta and salad. If the brushetta is more a mix between a pizza and real brushetta but it was good. The salad was also good, made with fresh products. Food and drink was reasonably priced.

-Bar-Restaurant-Crêperie- Open from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm
Because we were a large group of eight we were shown to the top floor which has amazing views. We ordered traditional Galetteand Rose cider followed by crepes. This place is not cheap, but I surpose that there is limited places to eat in such a confined island. We had our own waitress so service was good. The toilet in in the cellar and typically frence the male urinal is outside of the toilet cubicle, so be aware.

We've passed this restaurant many times over the years that we have been visiting the area around Pontorson. Until this visit it had either been closed or fully booked, so we were very pleased to get a table. There were mostly local people at the adjacent tables and we now understand why it is so popular, excellent value for the quality of the food with attentive service. It's just a bit beyond the immediate vicinity of Le Mont St Michel car parks but is worth a short walk. We would most definitely go back if in the area again.

Went here for a hopefully quick lunch whilst visiting Mont St. Michel. Had we have known it was quite so expensive we would have gone somewhere else. over 30 euros for a posh omelette! Couldn't believe it! But it was delicious, and the experience was probably worth it - we didn't have a starter or a dessert and weren't best pleased to find that the waiter had added a coffee to our bill (which we hadn't ordered) - it was quickly taken off, which led us to believe that it was a "try-on". We know that the lady who was sitting at the table right next to ours had a coffee, so they tried to add it to ours instead! This lady sitting next to us (on her own) was actually taking up 3 places - her own, and two other chairs over which she had slung her coat and other stuff! The service was friendly enough, but our waiter was a bit sniffy, and didn;t bring the requested pitcher of tap water, nor did he bring any bread until we had almost finished our omelettes. Still, it was a great experience! Lots of photographs/sketches of famous people who had dined here - Yves St. Laurent, Maggie Thatcher, King Edward VII, etc etc. I think my omeletter could have been a bit better cooked than it was .... but it tasted delicious!

A wonderful restaurant outside of the Abby. It is a one minute walk from where you get the free shuttle. Either cut through the parking lot and follow the signs or walk about 200 feet back where the bus came down and cross but there are buses coming and going so be careful. Ask anyone if you can't find it. An excellent menu with set plate or a la carte. Easy to get to and from Abby if you are staying there. Reasonable and delicious.

Menu is extensive if a little over priced however the portions are huge so don't feel you have to go for the three course menu!
The food was decent, well prepared and presented with a good range of tastes catered for.
Service was good and English is spoken although they do expect you to a least attempt a little French and why not, you are in France after all!
Not the best meal in the world but satisfying and eaten in a pleasant environment.

This restaurant is not easy to find without some guidance. It is located on top of a souvenir shop at the start of the climb up the mountain. The atmosphere is genuine and calming. We tried some main and dessert creps (chocolate) All very tasty, but somewhat overpriced. You almost need two mains to get full. Service was good

We were around Mont Saint Michelle, and we didn't know where to eat.
We decided to stop by this place, and honestly I can't remember if it was mentioned in one of our guides.Anyway, we looked for a bit at the menu, and in the end we decided we were too hungry to search for some other time.
The place is nice and clean, but not special, expecially from outside.
Service was ok, not too pleasant but quite professional; food was ok, maybe the best part of the dinner (thankfully!!!).Price was 25 euros, with an entree, main dish and dessert. My friend was satisfied, I wasn't that much.In any case, a place I admit can be located in the average-high part of catering.
